Happy Birthday "Deer"

This card serves a two-fold purpose...an entry in Challenge #303 TSOT and teaching women how to do the shaving cream technique...but I cheated and used Perfectly Artistic DSP! I will do the real thing when we make this card. They have never done sponging either.  Wish me luck with 15 women who are pretty much "newbies"!!

The "hello" is from Thoughtful Banners and the inside sentiment is from Birthday Fiesta. I'm thinking I need to add some Early Espresso candy dots on the top side of each deer, what do you think? AND I need to do the same design above and below the sentiment, not two different designs?

Night of Navy

This card has a three-fold purpose...1) to show customers how you can use the Paper Pumpkin kits; 2) for a group of women to make this card; and 3) for Just Add Ink Challenge #342 "Just Add N"

I used the card base from the May 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit and cut a 4 1/16" x 5 5/16 piece of Night of Navy. I adhered that to the inside of the front with glue dots. The HAPPY is a sticker from the kit. One star is from the kit, the navy one is from the Regals enamel set. "Birthday" was stamped in Night of Navy. For the inside, I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits (for the sentiment) and Layering Ovals Framelits (for the mat). I printed out the sentiment in navy. The balloons were punched and I just drew in the strings. This will be for a man as the PP kit was called, "Many Manly Occasions." I just love SU's use of double letters!

Life's a Beach!

It's time to get off cold and wintery things. Since I live in Florida and the temperature today is in the 80's, I thought TSOT #302 would be the perfect sketch to use.

I flipped the sketch and had to write my own sentiment! For my base, I used Crumb Cake card stock. The water and sand is from Serene Scenery DSP pack. I love that pack! The umbrellas were cut out of various retired SU DSP stacks using the Weather Together Framelits. I think I should have only used the silver glimmer paper on the oval scallop. Your thoughts? The 3 beach chairs are IOS dies. I used cardstock from SU, Office Max and Joann's.

I am not thrilled with this card and will probably try another one using the chairs and beach DSP but not the cloud nor the umbrellas. Maybe I'll add some seagulls. Stay tuned!

Last of the Christmas Cards

A friend mailed me a gift and a pretty card. I created this Christmas card thank you note by deconstructing her card and envelope. I hope she likes it and recognizes the papers! I hope Crafty Hazel likes it for Challenge #312!

The scalloped oval is her cardstock and the tree is from her envelope. I used Flirty Flamingo for my base and Sweet Sugarplum for the background oval. The snowflakes and sentiment are stamped in Flirty Flamingo from the Christmas Pines stamp set. I used the Frosty sequins for ornaments on the tree and punched the star from Gold Glimmer sheets.

November Birthday Post

I made this birthday card for my friend in our card group. It was the first time I had ever done a "z fold" and probably the last!

Still Making Christmas Cards!

Yesterday our card group made three cards, one of which was my Christmas llama from a few weeks ago.

We made a sympathy card using Crumb Cake card stock and ink. The flowers are from Petite Petals and were punched out. I don't know the name of the embossing folder, but it sure is pretty.

This next card is a "Bella" card. I know the stamp is retired but I have no idea of it's name is unless it's "Christmas Shop". If you know, please leave me a comment saying what it is.

Happy Birthday Janelle!

Paper Players Color Challenge 325 and Match the Sketch 154 are the two challenges that inspired this card. Our friend and her husband like to bike and it's her birthday in a few days. I used stamps from Sheltering Tree, Paper Pumpkin and Flourishing Phrases. I embossed the bicycle in gold and silver and sponged the edge with silver. The sentiment was embossed in silver and the edge sponged in gold. The star embellishments are from the Metallic Enamel Shapes. The background is from the Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate sheets. I cut out the circles with the Stitched Shape dies and used a gold metallic foil doily behind the bike. The baker's twine is retired. All products are SU with the exception of the gold heart border at the inside bottom. Part of the inside sentiment is embossed and the rest is just stamped in silver.

Anniversaries

I finished off some cards with sentiments and insides today. My friend ordered two anniversary cards. I didn't have time to make them from scratch so cards I had left blank paid off.

The first card is for the parents of the daughter and son-in-law of the second card. The parents have been married 27 years and the daughter has been married a year. Exciting for both couples!

Card Group

This is my card group of which I speak every Thursday. We had such a fun evening with delicious appetizers, dessert and wine. One of the gals taught us how to make an origami ornament. I should have taken a picture of hers as it was utterly gorgeous!

Paper Pumpkin Christmas

So, I was inspired by a card made by Ramsey Murray Alexander. All products are Stampin' Up with the exception of the holographic paper. The base is thick Whisper White, layer of silver glimmer paper, layer of Dapper Denim, layer of pool party. The top front is the holographic paper, the bottom is from the November 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit. I added silver Stickles along the mounds. It was a quick and easy card to make.

Another Challenge!

I am inspired by challenges. This card was made for this specific challenge.

I love Cherry Cobbler, Olives (both green and black) and Espresso! So what's not to love about this card? I used ingredients from the November 2015 Paper Pumpkin Kit and the Softly Falling TIEF. Inks used were Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso. Jesus is the best gift ever and I spelled His name with the SU Brushed Alphabet Stamp Set. He has brought me great joy!

Return from Disney

I haven't posted in awhile because we took a trip to Disney. We stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort and it was a wonderful experience compared to our last visit. We were notified that our room was ready and we had opted to use old Magic Bands. When we tried them to get into our room, they didn't work. They had sent me the number for the front desk so I was able to call and they sent a runner with new bands. It took all of 15 minutes compared to the two day ordeal at Old Key West! Our room was a corner room in Aruba and it was a pleasant view of the courtyard and close to the pool. We only use the pool area for reading and drinking wine 😎🍷

So the day after we returned home, it was card making time!

Hoppy Birthday

My friend's brother loves frogs and has an upcoming birthday. She requested a frog card so here's what I made. Connie Stewart had a weekend challenge today on FB so I made my loose interpretation of her sketch!

Purple Christmas

I won't have a blue Christmas without you...I'll have a purple one with you! One of the ladies in my card group loves purple. This will be for her and her family. It will also be for Sunday Stamps.

I used the new die cuts from SU called Stitched Shapes Framelits. I LOVE them! My colors are Perfect Plum, Blackberry Bliss and Smoky Slate. The DSP is from a friend's stash and the snowflakes are dies from ISO. I used SU silver foil for those. The sentiment is from SU Christmas Pines and is stamped in Blackberry Bliss. I had a kit left over from our last meeting here and I just didn't feel like making a sympathy card...Christmas is so much more fun. Hope you like it.

Quilted Southern

I think I'll enter this card in the CHNC #308 and  the November 2016 Challenge Patterned Paper Challenge as well as Just Add Ink #337.

All products are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted. On my Demonstrator Party Planning FB group, I CASEd another demonstrator's card (Therese Arsenault). The card base is Cherry Cobbler and the second layer is Pear Pizzazz. I used my new Stitched Shapes Framelits and cut out the squares using the smallest square. I used Merry Moments DSP and This Christmas DSP. I adhered them to a layer of Whisper White. The sentiment is from Christmas Pines, stamped in Cherry Cobbler and cut with the smallest stitched oval. I used the Layering Ovals to do the scallop oval. They are both raised with dimensionals. The bottom was done using the Holly embossing folder. I used Garden Green and Real Red to color the holly. Upon making this card, this southern belle re-realized why she doesn't quilt! I'll stick with Quilted Northern...lol. Hmmm, can I make a card out of toilet paper?

If I make this card again, I will use a thin strip of paper to separate the embossing from the squares...which are really triangles :-) Maybe I could use the toilet paper???

A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That

Yesterday at our card group, we made two Christmas cards and two regular cards.
This was made using VersaMark ink stamped on the outside. I think I should have put the scallop on the right side as it covers the "beautiful" in the photo but not in real life. In real life, it blocks a set of pine cones!

The inside of this card has a punched red glimmer ornament on the left and here's the inside right.

Here are the other non-Christmas cards. I did not put a sentiment on the inlaid card, which is from Flourish Thinlits dies.

The second card was made from Paisleys and Posies. This card is a CASE of Lyssa Z at songofmyheartstampers.com

Another Daily Llama

I made this card for a sketch challenge at Try Stampin' - or not - on Tuesday! Challenge #297 I added the optional window. Thanks to their challenge, I was able to CASE my own card from November 13.  I've also added it to the Music Challenge at Cuttlebug Mania.

I am also entering it in the Paper Players challenge PP#321

All products are Stampin' Up with the exception of the sentiment, which I printed. The music DSP is from This Christmas. The red stripe is Holiday's Fancy Foil Designer Vellum. The narrow strip is from Merry Moments DSP. The llama is from the Birthday Fiesta stamp set. Colors used were as PP above. The pearl accents are from Pearl Basic Jewels. I used the 2 3/8" scallop punch for the window.

Fa La La La La La La La Llama

I didn't have anything coral for this challenge so I'm glad red was allowed! This stamp set from Stampin Up is so cute (Birthday Fiesta). I love llamas and alpacas...not sure what the difference is. He's as cute as the llama for Bank of America but not quite as obnoxious!

I made this card for my two young pen pals. I used the Holly embossing folder, the stamped sentiment is from White Christmas and punched with the small scallop punch. The snowflakes on the flag banner are from Christmas Pines. The star is punched gold glimmer paper. The year on the necklace is from the December 2015 Paper Pumpkin kit and the holly on its blanket is from the Christmas Pines stamp set. The ornaments are 1/4" circles punched from DSP. The card base is Emerald Envy as is the ink, along with Real Red paper and ink.

Pretty Christmas

Our group made pretty cards for Christmas, don't you think?

I'm not sure which is my favorite, but maybe I'll go look for a challenge to see if that will settle it. The Stars have it! S is for Stars Alphabet Challenge, November 11, 2016 challenge. I wish I knew how to enter two cards but alas I can only do the first one.

No Cards Today

Today at our Card Ministry gathering, I didn't make cards. I learned how to make a jewel gift box. I had a friend who took the time to show me what to do and then she went off to make cards. It was a struggle for me to make the box with the Santa lid, but she would check up on me to see how I was doing. I can't begin to tell you how many mistakes she had to fix! I don't do well with a lot of background noise :-)

I said at church that I had made my first and last box, but I love to challenge myself. When I got home, I sat down and made two bottoms, that's easy now! BUT the boxes needed tops so I got out my pencil, ruler and math skills and did the top wrong once, repaired it and then made one with no mistakes. Here they are...

I think a Ghiardelli square will fit nicely in the box. Now I need to make bows...yet another challenge!

Graduation from Columbia University

My friend's grandson-in-law received his phD from Columbia this week. His contribution to the world had something to do with salt. So, I used their colors (blue and white) and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter paper, Whisper White and Marina Mist to make his card. The stamps I used are from March 2016 Paper Pumpkin. The dots are from the Brights Enamel Dots. I am entering this in two challenges. SUO Challenge #161 - Celebrations of All Kinds! and the Try Stamping on Tuesday #296. TSOT or Not! #296. Here's their sketch...

and here's my version...

and for the inside...

I found this on Pinterest and changed it just a wee bit. Thanks for looking!

Card CASE

MOJO473
Today I found a card through Pinterest that I really wanted to CASE. My friend asked me to make a thank you card for her to send to her PEO sisters. Here it is...I've also entered it in the MOJO473 Monday contest.

My Card

My colors were Mint Macaron and Basic Black. The DSP I used was from Blooms and Bliss and Birthday Bouquet. The stamp set I used was the retired "Best of Flowers". The scalloped edge really was the most difficult part, along with the white gel pen dotted edge. I used Soft Sky for the blue and wished I had used something darker. The grass was Wild Wasabi. The sentiment  is from Bella and Friends, using the Word Window punch and Duet Banner punch. The bee embellishment is from Jolee's Boutique (an EK Success product and sold through Amazon). On the inside, I stamped daisies and a bee and adhered a thin strip of designer paper. I printed out the sentiment using Publisher and ink that matched the Mint Macaron.

Here's the card by Sue Bayliss that I CASEd
