Stampin' Up! Hey Sports Fan DSP in Honor of the Fallen

Welcome to my Memorial Day Monday Makeover Madness card. I usually save my M & M's for the end but since you were so sweet to visit today, help yourself to a handful.

Okay, now that your sweet tooth is satisfied, here's a look at the card I made especially for today. I am sending it to myself unless someone really wants to buy it.

Tami White calls this design a double angled gatefold card and she has a very good template and video for the design. I CASED her card (10th one in) and she'll be doing a video this week to show how she made it. I couldn't wait because I wanted to have mine ready for today.

So, I figured out my way with the mats for the DSP.  I used the soon- retiring Hey Sports Fan Designer Series Paper, Gold Foil, Basic White Cardstock, Poppy Parade Cardstock, Poppy Parade Ink, Night of Navy Ink and stamps from the Joy Clair Heroes Stamp Set. The stars are from the retired SU Confetti Star Punch and they were in my stash. You might remember them from this card. I didn't have 50 stars so I went with a 13 colony layout. Let me show you the inside of the card and views from different angles.

Thank you, again, for stopping by today and I hope you'll be back Thursday for our Happy Inkin' Blog Hop.

I'll leave you with a quote from P.D. James:

"A nation that can't remember its dead will soon cease to be worth dying for."

Stampin' Up! Country Club Masculine Fun Fold Birthday Card

TGIF, peeps! Welcome to my Friday Fun Fold post. I belong to a Grief Share Group and one of our participants is having a birthday today. I made this card for him as he is an avid golfer. I used the retired Clubhouse Stamp Set, Golf Dies and Country Club Designer Series Paper. I'll show the card to you from different angles...

laying flat (sorta!)...

 and standing up...

This is a modified Center Step Card. It is so easy to create.

Cut a piece of Basic White Cardstock 5 1/2" x 8" and score at 4" on the 8" side. Cut at 1 3/4" and 3 3/4" on the 5 1/2" side only to the score line. Score the center piece at 2", fold and burnish.

Cut DSP 2 pieces of Designer Series Paper 1 5/8" x 3 7/8" for the outer flaps and 1 7/8" x 3 7/8" which gets adhered to the inner center. Adhere the two outside flaps to the card base.

Cut DSP at 1 7/8" x 1 7/8" for the bottom center flap. Decorate the top center flap with stamps from the Clubhouse Stamp Set and the golf balls from the Country Club DSP. Cut the golf ball on the tee with grass with the Golf Dies. Color the grass and tee with Stampin' Blends. I used Light Night of Navy for the tee and Light Old Olive for the grass. I hand printed the recipient's name on the ball. Titleist an Callaway were too long! Adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Cut 2 golf clubs from Silver Foil Cardstock using the Golf Dies. Adhere them together and to the bottom of the inner center. It was not enough of a stopper so I cut 6 golf balls with the Golf Dies, adhered them together and then to the inner center bottom. Perfect! Decorate the top half of the center fold with stamps from the Clubhouse set and golf balls from the DSP.

Here's a shot of the back (DSP is cut at 5 1/2" x 4")....

I used the retired Tailored Tag Punch to create Basic Black and Crushed Curry mats for my sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed my card today. I certainly had fun creating it. I'd like to enter it in these challenges:

I'd love to have you visit me on Monday for some M & M's and I thank you for stopping by today. I hope you have a great weekend planned. For my USA peeps, remember the fallen.

Stampin' Up! Wildlife Wonder Masculine Birthday Card

Welcome to the Happy Inkin' Thursday blog hop. You're in for a treat if you have never visited before. It's a weekly challenge and this week we have a sketch challenge. Here is what I created for it...

and here is our sketch...

I used the Wildlife Wonder Stamp Set to create my card. Because it's masculine, I'm entering it in the Inspire.Create.Challenge #117.

My card base is Starry Sky. The photo doesn't show it very good but I embossed a panel of Starry Sky with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card front with liquid glue.

Next I cut a piece of Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper and stamped the bear on it in Early Espresso ink. I used my Stamparatus so I could get a really dark image. I colored parts of him with my Light and Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends. I used the Starry Sky and Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers to stamp the flowers and grass.

I stamped the sentiment in Starry Sky on a scrap of DSP and cut it with the Banners Punch. I adhered a piece of Early Espresso 1/4" Faux Suede Trim with glue dots and then the sentiment with liquid glue. I adhered the art panel with Stampin' Dimensionals. Three Brass Brushed Butterflies finished the front.

For the inside...

I stamped the sentiment in Starry Sky ink, another flower the same as the front and added a strip of the DSP. I also sponged the Basic White panel with Pool Party ink.

Stampin' Up! Bottled Happiness

Hello! I'm glad you joined me for the unscheduled Tuesday post. When I saw the Just Add Ink Challenge #604

I knew I had to participate! Here is my current card that I am entering.

Here is the card I CASED, which was posted on May 9, 2022.

Let's bring back the new and improved card.

I used the 2022-2024 In Color Parakeet Party cardstock for my base and adhered a panel of  Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper with liquid glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I punched out the jar using the Jar Punch because I still had some Mason Jar Domes left. They are retired but in our new catalog, we have vintage bottle domes.

Using Starry Sky ink, I stamped the sentiment from the Bottled Happiness Stamp Set.  I cut around all the cardstock with the second largest die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies.

The wood DSP is from the retired In Good Taste Series and I punched the center of it with the bottom with the Jar Punch. I adhered that piece to the Basic White panel.

Above the jar top, I stamped the flowers and leaves in Parakeet Party and Starry Sky inks.  Then I started working on the shaker dome by adhering it to the inside of the opening with the top layer of adhesive that comes on it.  I went through my stash and found retired Flowers for Every Season Gems that complemented the color of the DSP so I filled the jar with not quite enough gems! I had stamped stems from the Jar of Flowers Stamp set and adhered it to the back of the dome with the adhesive that is on the back of the dome. Then I adhered that panel to the card front.

For the finishing touch, I tied a bow with the Starry Sky 1/8" Metallic Ribbon and adhered it with liquid glue.

The inside is stamped using an image and sentiment from the retired (2018) Thoughts & Prayers Stamp Set. Because the stamp set is well over a year old, I am entering my card in the Retro Rubber #183 ATG Challenge.
I used the same inks as on the front along with Stamp N Write Markers.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope to see you on Thursday for our weekly Inkin' Blog Hop. Oh, let me know which card you prefer!

Stampin' Up! Splendid Sneak Peek!

It's Fun Fold Friday today and I have a little surprise for you...I'm using the book binding fun fold, a retired product, a new product and an upcoming product that I received early because I will be attending SU's Creativity Now for Demonstrators in June. I was inspired by the challenge at Make the Cards #55 - Use 2 Patterned Papers. I hope you get a chance to visit them because the Design Team have (has??) created some beauties! Here's mine...

I have made the book binding fold many times. It is soooooo easy! You take a piece of cardstock 4 1/4" x 11", score at 4 1/4" and 5 1/2". Then you fold it back on itself and burnish. Before I glued the 1 1/4" part closed, I adhered a 1" x 4" piece of Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper (AC 2022-2023) to it and wrapped a piece of Fresh Freesia 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon around it and tied a bow.

Then I cut a piece of the upcoming  Splendid Day Designer Series Paper (wait til you see it, it's gorgeous!) and adhered it to the card front. I had flowers, stacked on my desk, from the Hues of Happiness DSP that I had cut out earlier in the week with the Blossoming Happiness Dies so I adhered a couple with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The "Sending Hugs" sentiment is from the upcoming Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set, stamped in what is supposed to be Granny Apple Green ink but somehow I think someone might have put an unclean stamp on it because it looks more like Old Olive. Those things happen and I know there is a way to remedy it but I didn't want to take the time. In any event, it is cut out with the upcoming Splendid Stems Dies and also adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. I adhered one of the Fresh Freesia Fun Flowers Resin Shapes (AC 2022-2023) and the card front was fini!

For the inside...

I stamped the bee from the Splendid Thoughts SS in Smoky Slate and colored it with my Light So Saffron and Ivory Stampin' Blends. I adhered a 1/4"strip of the Hues of Happiness DSP to the bottom. Then I stamped the sentiment from the retired Rose Wonder Stamp Set, again in the not-so-anymore Granny Apple Green ink.

I stamped the envelope with a flower from the Happiness Abounds Stamp Set and adhered a 6" x 2 1/4" piece of Hues of Happiness DSP to the flap, cutting off the excess.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope to see you on Monday for some M & M's!

Stampin' Up! Inspired Thoughts Sympathy Card

Welcome to the Happy Inkin' Thursday blog hop. You're in for a treat if you have never visited before. It's a weekly challenge and this week we have a theme challenge. Here is what I created for it...

and here's the theme...

I have made this fun fold in the past and it is so easy. I'm entering my card in Debbie's Creative Creases Challenge #32 - Anything Goes with a Fun Fold. Measurements are listed below.

The New Horizons Designer Series Paper sets the scene on the panels and also provides the tuft of grass cut with the Horizon Dies. (I'm entering my card at Try Stampin' On Tuesday #556). The other tufts of grass are stamped in Evening Evergreen using the On the Horizon Stamp Set. The fences are cut from the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper pack using the Horizon Dies. The birds are from the On the Horizon Stamp Set and stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy and it's from the Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set. The stones are the Pebbles Enamel Shapes. If you look closely, you will see that I colored the horizon line with my Light Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blend to make it look like the ocean (aqua) and also some little pools of water. I thought some of the green dunes looked a little like a lime color so I'm entering my card at Color Throwdown ctd693.

Stampin' Up! Monochromatic Birthday Card

Welcome to my Monochromatic Monday card. How was your weekend? I did a delicious and fun virtual cooking/eating dinner with my daughter, sil (upstate NY) and grandson (downstate NY) Friday night but other than that mine was uneventful and I like it that way!

For today's card I used the Nature's Prints Stamp Set. I think I'm going to wear this set out! I also used Slim Sayings, Daffodil Daydream and Happy Hedgehogs (those three are in the January/June 2022 Mini Catalog. Let's take a look...

The spatters are from the Daffodil Daydream Stamp Set as is the filigree edge at the bottom. The butterflies are from the Happy Hedgehogs Stamp Set. The leaves are from the Nature's Prints Stamp Set and the sentiment is from the Slim Sayings Stamp Set. I stamped everything in Soft Succulent on a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock. I adhered it to a mat of Evening Evergreen and adhered that to a Very Vanilla base. Three Soft Succulent 2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds finished the front.

The inside sentiment is from Slim Sayings.

I'm entering my card in the CAS on Friday #231 Butterflies ChallengeGlobal Design Project #343 - Theme: Beautiful Bugs and Pammie's Inky Pinkies #2220 - ATG

Stampin' Up! Slim Sayings Birthday Fun Fold Card

TGIF, peeps! It's Friday and another fabulous fun fold day. Hope your day unfolds to be fun!

So, I saw Connie Stewart create this fun fold and a card immediately sprang into my head. Well, actually it was an idea, not the card...ouch! I used her template that she provided and everything was a piece of cake.  Well, actually a card, not cake. Okay enough...on with the card...

Not only was I inspired by Connie, I was inspired by  Creative Creases #32 - Anything with a Fun Fold and
Festive Friday Challenge FF#109. I used yellow, bees, flowers and twine. I'm also entering my card at
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #637 - Anything Goes.

My card base is Night of Navy, DSP is Hues of Happiness, top sentiment is from the Slim Sayings Stamp Set, "Happy Birthday" is from the A Grand Kid Stamp Set.

The bee is from Jolee's Boutique. Ribbon and twine are both retired, Daffodil Delight Ribbon Seam Binding 1/2" and Night of Navy twine fom the Well Suited Twine Combo Pack.. I used Night of Navy and Daffodil inks for the sentiments.

Thank you for stopping by today and check out the measurements below.

Measurements:
  • Card base: 10 1/4" x 8 1/2", score on 10 1/4" side at 1 1/4", 2 1/2", 4 3/4", 7" and accordion fold

Stampin' Up! Sending Smiles Encouragement Card

Welcome to the Happy Inkin' Thursday blog hop. You're in for a treat if you have never visited before. It's a weekly challenge and this week we have a sketch challenge.n Here is what I created for it...

and here's our sketch...

I used Basic Black Cardstock for my card base. Using the second largest die from the Scallops & Contours Dies, I cut a panel of Soft Succulent Cardstock. I adhered that to the card front with liquid glue. On top of that I added a piece of Layering Vellum that I cut with the third largest rectangle from the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I adhered that with glue dots.

Next I cut the "Sending" from the Sending Dies using Soft Succulent Cardstock and Crumb Cake Cardstock. I adhered them together with liquid glue and adhered the double layered sentiment to the card front.  I had two tittles but the Soft Succulent one disappeared from my desk so I just used the Crumb Cake one and matched the "Sending Smiles Across the Miles" to it with Crumb Cake Cardstock. The sentiment, from the Sending Smiles Stamp Set, is stamped in Crumb Cake Ink and cut out with a die from the Sending Dies.

I added three Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots to cover the glue dots and the card front was done.

For the inside, I cut a mat of Soft Succulent and a panel of Crumb Cake. Then I got the He's All That Stamp Set out and stamped the corners and "Together for the Long Haul" in Crumb Cake. I added the Volkswagen Bus from the He's the Man Specialty Designer Series Paper

I'm also entering my card in the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #637 - Anything Goes and Cardz 4 Guyz - "D" is for driving directions (double duty...lol!).

Thank you for stopping by and hopping with us! Clicking on the "next" button will take you to Akiko. Clicking on the names listed below will take you directly to team members and their projects. Hope to see you tomorrow for my Friday Fun Fold.
