Stampin' Up! Free as a Bird Friendship Card for the Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin' Thursday blog hop. This week we have a color challenge and I used the Free As a Bird Stamp Set to create my card.

Here are the colors that we’re using this week:
Image may contain: text

Measurements, instructions and a partial list of supplies can be found at the end of my post. I'm entering my card in the Tic Tac Toe Challenge - TTTC062 and I've gone down the center.

My card base is Bermuda Bay Cardstock. The 1" piece is dry embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D EF. The front art piece is cut from a pattern in the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. I sponged over the Pool Party color with Bermuda Bay and I colored the birds with my Grapefruit Grove Stamp N Write Marker.  The double bow is the Grapefruit Grove twine from the Nature's Twine Pack.

I cut an oval from the reverse side of this pattern and adhered the scalloped oval to it with 1/2 Dimensionals. My team mate, Julie, loves birds...but not 1/2 Dimensionals! The dies I used are from the Layering Ovals set. The sentiment is stamped in Grapefruit Grove ink using a stamp from Free As a Bird. I am going to miss that color when it retires this year.

On to the inside...

There's the Daffodil Delight color! and you see the reverse side of the front pattern. This idea came from Jessica Taylor's "how to show off both sides of your pretty paper"....cool, isn't it? I posted two cards earlier using this technique.

Using the bird image stamp and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, I colored all but one bird with my Light and Dark Daffodil Delight Blends. I wanted one bird to really stand out so I colored her in Light and Dark Bermuda Bay Blends. I colored her feet and beak with the Grapefruit Grove marker. I chose not to color the branch because I wanted the birds to be more dominant. The sentiment is, again, from the Free as a Bird set and stamped in GG.

Stampin' Up! April 2020 Paper Pumpkin Alternative

Good morning, peeps! This month's Paper Pumpkin Kit is called "My Wonderful Family". It's a great kit and here's an alternative that I came up with...

Before I tell you about my card, I want to bring a challenge to you. ModSquad has a "Get Your Happy On! challenge. My card qualifies because the fourth- to-last word on the front is "happy". Woo hoo, that makes me happy, Angie!

The card base is one from the kit. It's a Z fold card so I can also enter it at The Sisterhood of Crafters, Sistah Katy's Fun Fold Challenge

I took the little branch of leaves stamp in the kit and stamped in Mint Macaron and Pear Pizzazz. I adhered the written sentiment card piece from the kit with liquid glue, only on the left side. I added three green pearls from the kit to the front.

On the inside, I stamped more sentiments from the kit in Pear Pizzazz (the ink spot comes with the kit).

When you order your first Paper Pumpkin kit, it comes with a stamping block. There are instructions to make the cards or projects but I don't like to follow instructions so I just create on my own! You can too!! Find out more by clicking on this link. Paper Pumpkins kits are great for traveling or crafting in front of the TV!

Thank you for stopping by today and if you have any questions, please let me know in a comment.

Stampin' Up! Tropical Chic Thank You Card

It's a tropical Tuesday for me in more ways than one. Not only do I live in tropical southwest Florida, but I've used the Tropical Chic Stamp Set and Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper to create my card. My main color today is Grapefruit Grove.

Want to know how long it took me to make this card? As You See It would like to know...7 minutes and 19 seconds!

Check out their guidelines and try making a card in 10 minutes or less.

Here's the inside...

This one took me a little longer than the one I made Sunday because I punched the corners.

As I mentioned Sunday, I watched Jessica Taylor on You Tube showing how to show off both sides of the patterned paper. For this one I did cut the DSP to 5 1/2" x 4" and the same for the insert.

Measurements and Instructions:

Grapefruit Card Base: Cut  Card Stock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score and fold at 4 1/4"; then cut off 3 1/4" and save that piece for another card! Stamp the 1" portion that remains with the leaf-like stamp from Tropical Chic using Grapefruit Grove ink.

Grapefruit Grove Twine from Nature's Twine Pack: Cut 22"; wrap around center of 1" portion and tie in a bow.

Tropical Oasis DSP: Cut 5 1/2" x 4"; adhere it to the back of the 1" portion. When I make another one with the twine in the center, I will use Tear and Tape. I didn't have it out and because of the time limit I didn't bother. I'm hoping the SNAIL will hold.

Scrap of Very Vanilla: Stamp sentiment from Tropical Chic in Grapefruit Grove; punch with Pretty Label Punch. Sponge edges with same ink; adhere with Mini Dimensionals.

Adhere three Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Cut Very Vanilla inside panel 5 1/2" x 4, stamp sentiment, punch corners with the Detailed Trio Punch and adhere to card base.

Done! Yeppers, no kidding...7 minutes, 19 seconds. I'm happy!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope to see you come back tomorrow for my April 2020 Paper Pumpkin Alternative.

Stampin' Up! Good Morning Magnolia Belated Birthday Card

Good Monday Morning Makeover, peeps!

You can see my original card here.

Today, this is what it looks like...

My measurements for the DSP listed below are a little different from the one I created April 21, 2020, but the instructions remain the same. However, I  made this card the same I made the other. Another demonstrator displayed almost this exact card on the 23rd...great minds think alike! Carole Parsons, if you're reading this, this one's for you! Carole also has an online Bible Study if you're so inclined.

I used Light and Dark Petal Pink Blends Marker to color the magnolia and Light and Dark Mossy Meadow Blends for the leaves. The center is Light Daffodil Delight Blends Marker. Instead of using Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels, I used Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Magnolias shout SPRING! and at Double Trouble Paper Crafting, Challenge #55, Trouble Maker has an inspirational photo.
The three Things that I selected from her photo are the flowers, green leaves and my rhinestones which represent dew drops! Did I do okay, Trouble Maker? I'm sure Twisted Sister will affirm my dew drops! Double Dare...I'm linking also to Artsy Stamper Digital Challenge #14 - Springtime! I'm hoping my project doesn't have to be digital but I'd like to own a digital! Your challenges are always so much fun.

Here's a photo of the inside...

The stamp I inherited from Carole and I believe it's an Inkadinkado, but I didn't see their name on it.

I'm also playing at Pammie's Inky Pinkies 2017 ATG.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Card Cuts:

Mossy Meadow Card Stock: 7" x 5 1/4", scored on the 7" side at 4 1/4"
Mossy Meadow:  4" x 4", scored at 1"
Magnolia Lane DSP 2 1/2" x 5" and 2 3/4" x 3 3/4"
Whisper White 4" x 5"

Stampin' Up! Tropical Oasis and Tropical Chic Thank You Card

Good morning, peeps. Thank you for joining me today. I hope you've been having a good weekend. I had fun this weekend in my craft room!

As You See It currently has a speed challenge and I just love those! They do have rules to follow! (I've linked an image for their challenge at the end of my post.) This type of challenge teaches me to think out my card ingredients, measurements and steps to put it together. I have everything ready to cut, stamp, glue and decorate as you can see. This one took me 6 minutes and 40 seconds. Ready?

I could have reduced my time if I had cut all my papers at the same time and had my ink pad open...think assembly line! It killed me not to take time to clean my stamps until I finished the card. I don't like to leave my stamps with ink on them nor do I like to leave my ink pad open...just the quirkiness of my personality! So here is what I made with those items. (You'll need Dimensionals out too!)

This card is so easy! I got the idea by watching Jessica Taylor on You Tube.

Measurements and instructions:

Mint Macaron Card Base: Cut  Card Stock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score and fold at 4 1/4"; then cut off 3 1/4" and save that piece for another card! Stamp the 1" portion that remains with the leaf-like stamp from Tropical Chic using Mint Macaron ink.

Tropical Oasis DSP: Cut 5 1/4" x 4"; adhere it to the back of the 1" portion (next time I will cut it at 5 1/2" so it stands up better)

Mint Macaron Twine from Nature's Twine Pack: Cut 22"; wrap around seam and tie in a bow in front (All Sorts has a bow challenge for week 569.)

Scrap of Very Vanilla: Stamp sentiment from Tropical Chic in Mint Macaron; punch with Pretty Label Punch. Sponge edges with same ink; adhere with Mini Dimensionals.

Adhere three Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Cut Very Vanilla inside panel 5 1/4" x 4, stamp sentiment and adhere to card base.

Here's a better photo of the reverse side of the front DSP.

I'm going to make another one for the challenge using different colors with a couple of changes. Check out their challenge...it truly is fun!

I hope you enjoyed my card today and that you'll give it a try.

Stampin' Up! Music From the Heart Boy Birthday Card

Well, here it is...the other twin's 7th birthday card.

JJ's favorite colors are orange and green and I think he likes dinosaurs. I used a strip of Dinoraur Designer Series paper and stamped the images on a piece of Mango Melody. I used Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie and Early Espresso inks. The guitar and musical notes are from the Music From the Heart Stamp Set (retiring 6/2/20). The headphones and sneakers are from Epic Celebration (free Sale-A-Bration 2018) and the number and sentiment are from the Number of Years Stamp Set (retired 2018). With that said, I'll be playing again at RRCB133.
RRCB 133

For the inside...
I sponged with Balmy Blue, trying to achieve a sky look with the balloons taking the dinosaur away from land! I fussy cut him out of a scrap of the Dinoraur DSP. I added a 1" x 4 1/4" strip of another pattern from that series and adhered it to the bottom.

I stamped the "Awesome" in Garden Green. It's from the Epic stamp set and the Happy Birthday in Pumpkin Pie, from the Label Me Bold Stamp Set (retiring also). The balloons are Mango Melody and Garden Green. The punch I used is retired. SU does have a current one but the balloons were too big for my needs.

I'm also entering my card at Alphabet Challenge Blog: B - is for Boy Card and at Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #337.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope a good weekend is in store for you.

Stampin' Up! March 2020 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Birthday Card

I have a friend in SC who has twins who turned 7 this week. Today I'll show you the card I made for her daughter and tomorrow I'll show you the one for her son.

I used the Number of Years Stamp Set (retired in 2018) and the March 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit to create my card. Because the Stamp Set is over a year old, I'm playing at Retro Rubber Challenge #133 ATG RRCB133.

Jenna's favorite colors are teal, pink and purple. I think I succeeded incorporating those colors. She also likes boots! The boot stamps in the kit couldn't have come at a more perfect time. Not familiar with Paper Pumpkin? Click on this link to find out more.

I love the March 2020 PP Kit! I took one of the card images and cut it down to fit the inside of my card. I used a scrap of Whisper White and sponged it with Balmy Blue ink. I used the Pretty Label Punch for the sentiments.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you'll have a great, relaxing weekend. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Stampin' Up! Forever Blossoms Friendship Card for the Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin' Thursday blog hop. This week we have a sketch challenge and I used the  Forever Blossoms Stamp Set to create my card.

Here is the sketch...

Image may contain: text

and here is what I created for it...

My card base is Calypso Coral Card Stock and the mat is Basic Black. I only have one regret...that I didn't dry emboss the black mat.

I stamped the image and the sentiment from Forever Blossoms on a piece of Whisper White Card Stock in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I ran it through my embossing machine with the Subtles 3D EF that I had inked up with Calypso Coral. I ran it through again but turned the card stock 90 degrees. I saw that idea somewhere on You Tube.

I cut the sentiment out with a die from the Stitched Rectangles set and the Calypso Coral mat with a die from the Ornate Layers. Then I decided the blossoms would look better embossed. I can still remember the springtime cherry blossoms on our senior trip to Washington, D.C. many, many years ago!

I rubbed the card stock with my Embossing Buddy, stamped the cherry blossoms image again in Versa Mark Ink, (you need the Stamparatus to stamp again so that everything lines up!), sprinkled it with Black Stampin' Emboss Powder, heat set it and then cut out the image with the Cherry Blossoms Dies.

The black mat is adhered to the card front with liquid glue. I adhered the sentiment to its mat with 1/2 Dimensionals and then glued the CC mat to the BB mat with liquid glue. I had done a dry fit prior to see where my blossom image needed to be and then I adhered it with both liquid glue and Dimensionals.

For the finishing touches, I added three Champagne Rhinestone Jewels, a bow made from Nature's Twine and called it a day. I have no idea what I'm going to do for the inside yet.
