Happy Birthday "Deer"

This card serves a two-fold purpose...an entry in Challenge #303 TSOT and teaching women how to do the shaving cream technique...but I cheated and used Perfectly Artistic DSP! I will do the real thing when we make this card. They have never done sponging either.  Wish me luck with 15 women who are pretty much "newbies"!!

The "hello" is from Thoughtful Banners and the inside sentiment is from Birthday Fiesta. I'm thinking I need to add some Early Espresso candy dots on the top side of each deer, what do you think? AND I need to do the same design above and below the sentiment, not two different designs?

Night of Navy

This card has a three-fold purpose...1) to show customers how you can use the Paper Pumpkin kits; 2) for a group of women to make this card; and 3) for Just Add Ink Challenge #342 "Just Add N"

I used the card base from the May 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit and cut a 4 1/16" x 5 5/16 piece of Night of Navy. I adhered that to the inside of the front with glue dots. The HAPPY is a sticker from the kit. One star is from the kit, the navy one is from the Regals enamel set. "Birthday" was stamped in Night of Navy. For the inside, I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits (for the sentiment) and Layering Ovals Framelits (for the mat). I printed out the sentiment in navy. The balloons were punched and I just drew in the strings. This will be for a man as the PP kit was called, "Many Manly Occasions." I just love SU's use of double letters!

Life's a Beach!

It's time to get off cold and wintery things. Since I live in Florida and the temperature today is in the 80's, I thought TSOT #302 would be the perfect sketch to use.

I flipped the sketch and had to write my own sentiment! For my base, I used Crumb Cake card stock. The water and sand is from Serene Scenery DSP pack. I love that pack! The umbrellas were cut out of various retired SU DSP stacks using the Weather Together Framelits. I think I should have only used the silver glimmer paper on the oval scallop. Your thoughts? The 3 beach chairs are IOS dies. I used cardstock from SU, Office Max and Joann's.

I am not thrilled with this card and will probably try another one using the chairs and beach DSP but not the cloud nor the umbrellas. Maybe I'll add some seagulls. Stay tuned!

Last of the Christmas Cards

A friend mailed me a gift and a pretty card. I created this Christmas card thank you note by deconstructing her card and envelope. I hope she likes it and recognizes the papers! I hope Crafty Hazel likes it for Challenge #312!

The scalloped oval is her cardstock and the tree is from her envelope. I used Flirty Flamingo for my base and Sweet Sugarplum for the background oval. The snowflakes and sentiment are stamped in Flirty Flamingo from the Christmas Pines stamp set. I used the Frosty sequins for ornaments on the tree and punched the star from Gold Glimmer sheets.

November Birthday Post

I made this birthday card for my friend in our card group. It was the first time I had ever done a "z fold" and probably the last!

Still Making Christmas Cards!

Yesterday our card group made three cards, one of which was my Christmas llama from a few weeks ago.

We made a sympathy card using Crumb Cake card stock and ink. The flowers are from Petite Petals and were punched out. I don't know the name of the embossing folder, but it sure is pretty.

This next card is a "Bella" card. I know the stamp is retired but I have no idea of it's name is unless it's "Christmas Shop". If you know, please leave me a comment saying what it is.

Happy Birthday Janelle!

Paper Players Color Challenge 325 and Match the Sketch 154 are the two challenges that inspired this card. Our friend and her husband like to bike and it's her birthday in a few days. I used stamps from Sheltering Tree, Paper Pumpkin and Flourishing Phrases. I embossed the bicycle in gold and silver and sponged the edge with silver. The sentiment was embossed in silver and the edge sponged in gold. The star embellishments are from the Metallic Enamel Shapes. The background is from the Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate sheets. I cut out the circles with the Stitched Shape dies and used a gold metallic foil doily behind the bike. The baker's twine is retired. All products are SU with the exception of the gold heart border at the inside bottom. Part of the inside sentiment is embossed and the rest is just stamped in silver.

Anniversaries

I finished off some cards with sentiments and insides today. My friend ordered two anniversary cards. I didn't have time to make them from scratch so cards I had left blank paid off.

The first card is for the parents of the daughter and son-in-law of the second card. The parents have been married 27 years and the daughter has been married a year. Exciting for both couples!

Card Group

This is my card group of which I speak every Thursday. We had such a fun evening with delicious appetizers, dessert and wine. One of the gals taught us how to make an origami ornament. I should have taken a picture of hers as it was utterly gorgeous!

Paper Pumpkin Christmas

So, I was inspired by a card made by Ramsey Murray Alexander. All products are Stampin' Up with the exception of the holographic paper. The base is thick Whisper White, layer of silver glimmer paper, layer of Dapper Denim, layer of pool party. The top front is the holographic paper, the bottom is from the November 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit. I added silver Stickles along the mounds. It was a quick and easy card to make.

Another Challenge!

I am inspired by challenges. This card was made for this specific challenge.

I love Cherry Cobbler, Olives (both green and black) and Espresso! So what's not to love about this card? I used ingredients from the November 2015 Paper Pumpkin Kit and the Softly Falling TIEF. Inks used were Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso. Jesus is the best gift ever and I spelled His name with the SU Brushed Alphabet Stamp Set. He has brought me great joy!

Return from Disney

I haven't posted in awhile because we took a trip to Disney. We stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort and it was a wonderful experience compared to our last visit. We were notified that our room was ready and we had opted to use old Magic Bands. When we tried them to get into our room, they didn't work. They had sent me the number for the front desk so I was able to call and they sent a runner with new bands. It took all of 15 minutes compared to the two day ordeal at Old Key West! Our room was a corner room in Aruba and it was a pleasant view of the courtyard and close to the pool. We only use the pool area for reading and drinking wine 😎🍷

So the day after we returned home, it was card making time!
