Stampin' Up! Sailing Home Masculine Birthday Card

Good Tuesday morning, peeps. Today I have chosen to use the Sailing Home Stamp Set to make my card. The design is based on one of Sharon Armstrong's Easy Peasy designs.

My card base is a flat piece of Basic Black Card Stock cut at 5 1/2" x 4 1/4". This is a fun fold card so the next piece of black is cut at 3" wide by 8 1/2" tall. You then score it at 4 1/4", fold and burnish it.

To that fold, adhere a piece of DSP. I used a pattern from the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper. It is cut at 2 3/4" x 4". The sentiment is stamped on scrap Gray Granite, stamped in black ink, "bannerized" and sponged with Smoky Slate along the edges. The sentiment is from the Special Someone Stamp Set and I adhered it with mini dimensionals.

On the inside of the folded part, I stamped a sentiment from Sailing Home. I had a ship's wheel in my stash so I adhered that. That had been cut with a die from the Smooth Sailing Dies. It's Silver Foil and Early Espresso.

I cut a piece of Smoky Slate Card Stock 2 3/4" x 4". I stamped the lighthouse and bird images in Smoky Slate ink. It's adhered with liquid glue.

I'm entering my card in the ATG Challenge at Through The Craft Room Door and the ATG Challenge M2520 at Repeat Impressions. There are some beautiful cards to view at each site.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Stampin' Up! Birthday Card

Good Monday Makeover Morning! I am still cleaning up my work area and came upon this unused kit from a couple of years ago! Here is a photo of my card back then. You can go to that post by clicking on the photo. You'll find the product used and more details when you do that.

Since it's the 5th Monday of the month, Thing 1: Trouble Maker at Double Trouble #53 has her Free-for-All Challenge to have a little fun creating with "Some Thing, Any Thing and Every Thing". I don't know if Thing 3: Twisted Sister will let me get away with this, but I'll try. She wants the background to be created with scraps and/or small pieces of patterned paper or washi tape...not sure if my patterned paper is small enough.  Thing 2: Double Trouble has a "double dare" to link with a previous partner. So, I have chosen to use the design sketch #450 from Try Stampin' On Tuesday.

The trouble with posting old, leftover kits is that nothing is current usually. But, they are great for recreating a new card design. Here is what I did with it using retired Fresh Fig card stock that was in the kit.

I didn't cut the retired DSP into strips today. I just left it whole for the front AND the inside. I dug out some retired Tutti-Fruitti Adhesive Sequins and placed 8 of them on the card.

I wrapped the piece of ribbon around the DSP instead of bannerizing (a "Maryism") it. Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge 2013 has a theme for their 5th Monday of the month challenge and it just happens to be to use ribbon!

Here's a look at the inside...

The sentiment from Sending Thoughts (Sale-A-Bration stamp) is stamped in Rich Razzleberry on an Everyday Label punched tag that was hanging on my desk as well. I sponged the edges with ink. I intend to write a separate note in this one so I didn't feel the need to have any more white than that.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

Stampin' Up So Sentimental Tropical Oasis

It's another day of staying at home for me. I have not been out in public since March 18 and it has not bothered me. My son does grocery pick up once or twice a week otherwise he would go stir crazy. Our cat, Lord Chesterfield, has been assisting me in the card room.

Chester is not letting me get at my card kits until I put my Ornate Garden Suite away...lol.

My card today uses the Tropical Oasis Memories & More Pack, Tropical Oasis DSP and sentiments from the So Sentimental Stamp Set. This card took all of 5 minutes to create.

The art panel is from the Memories & More pack and I just cut it down to fit the front of a Whisper White card base, which is 5 1/2" x 4 1/4". I covered up the written "Mahalo" on it with a strip of DSP I had in my stash.

I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso directly on that strip. I had a Lovely Lipstick stamped Tropical Chic flower in my stash that had been cut with a die from Tropical Dies. I adhered that with mini dimensionals.

For the inside I used another piece of scrap DSP from my stash and stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso. I stamped another flower in Lovely Lipstick ink.

I think I'll be using it for a birthday card and I do like how it came together with that warm tropical feel. I'm pretty sure it'll be going to a woman. With those two thoughts in mind, I'll be playing at Dragonfly Dreams: Make It Feminine and The Paper Players: PP484 - Tic Tac Toe Challenge by Joanne. I have chosen to go straight down the right side.

Thank you for stopping by today and I'll see you tomorrow with a Monday Makeover.

Good morning fellow stampers. I had so much fun creating my card today. It's for a very special couple who is celebrating their anniversary next week.

Stampin' Up! So Sentimental Meets Ornate Garden DSP

TGIF, peeps!

My card features a new product that will be featured in the upcoming Stampin’ Up! 2020-2021 Annual Catalog in June. The Ornate Garden Suite is available to demonstrators to order right now. It will be available to customers as an early release April 1, 2020.  I am using the Ornate Garden DSP today.

Here is my card front. It is from another kit I had in my stash. I swapped out the retired DSP in the kit and replaced it with the Ornate Garden DSP. This new DSP shouts "spring". Sistah Darlene has a spring theme challenge going on over at The Sisterhood of Crafters.

My design was inspired by The Paper Players: PP483. It's a sketch from Claire Broadwater.

In the February 2018 kit was a piece of ribbon and the pre-cut, pre-stamped rectangle. Here's how the it turned out back then.

and again now...

What a difference a change in design makes!

As You See It has a new challenge...
No photo description available.

Die cut - check
Flowers - check
Ribbon - check
Something Shiny - check
Patterned Paper - check

The die is from the retired Celebrate You set. The flowers and patterned paper are, as I mentioned, from the upcoming Ornate Garden Suite, the glimmer paper of the "You" is shiny, and the ribbon is non-SU.

The inside is quite simple. I stamped the sentiment from So Sentimental in Terracotta Tile. I had a piece of DSP left over so I adhered it to the bottom.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you'll be enjoying your weekend.

Stampin' Up! Flourishing Phrases Sympathy Card for the Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin' Thursday blog hop. You're in for a treat if you have never visited before. It's a weekly challenge and this week we have a sketch challenge. I can't wait to see what the other team members created. Hop along with us at the bottom of my post.

My uncle passed away in Hudson, New York, last week so I wanted to make a sympathy card for my aunt and cousins. I brought out the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set to do that. Here is our challenge sketch...

No photo description available.

and here is what I created for it...

My card base is Pool Party card stock, which has been embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. It's an item that will have an early release to customers April 1 and will be carried forward to the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog.

I cut a 1" x 5 1/2" strip of Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper and adhered it with liquid glue to the bottom.

The Highland Heather mat was a piece I had laying on my desk leftover from the card kit I had prepared for our demonstrator Make and Take. You can see that here. Using the upcoming Ornate Layers Dies, I cut it down to use for my card today. It just so happens to fit in with the challenge at Little Red Wagon #542 Leftovers and at Time Out #158 Lots or a Little Purple.

The sentiment is cut with a die from the Stitched So Sweetly set. I stamped the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape. I ran my Gorgeous Grape Stamp n Write Marker around the edge of it and adhered it with Dimensionals. I added three Gorgeous Grape Noble Peacock Rhinestones to break up the white.

For the inside I used another sentiment from Flourishing Phrases and stamped the corner doohickeys from the upcoming Ornate Style Stamp Set. I used Pool Party and Gorgeous Grape ink pads.

I matted the 5" x 3 3/4" Whisper White panel to a piece of 5 1/4" x 4" Highland Heather card stock.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and thank you for joining the hop. Clicking on the "next" button will take you to Eva Dobilas. Clicking on the names below will take you directly to the other team members and their projects.

Stampin' Up! Thoughtful Blooms Birthday Card

Mid-week seems to roll around quickly, don't you think? Blogging daily helps me to remember what day of the week it is.

My card today is one we made at our card group a few weeks ago. Needless to say, I miss gathering with the group for lunch and cards. Meg had this kit ready for us at Sue L.'s house.

We used the Thoughtful Blooms Stamp Set, which is free during Sale-A-Bration when you buy $50 worth of product prior to S/H and the Blooms Punch, which is free when you purchase product totaling $100 before S/H.

For the outside and inside sentiments we used the Beauty Abounds Stamp Set. I added the "Happy Birthday" from the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set when I got home.

I just love the colors: Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Mint Macaron and Call Me Clover. Pretty close to aquamarine which is the March birthstone and I do believe someone has a 6th birthday this month. Can you guess who? Right, Time Out. You can never have too many birthday cards on hand and you can never get too many birthday cards. They received over 200 beautiful entries and I'm sure they had fun looking at every single one. I had great fun playing at their challenge site eleven times!!

Can you envision creating your own patterned paper with the Thoughtful Blooms Stamp Set? I can! I just might do that!!

Thank you for visiting today and I hope you'll be back tomorrow for our weekly Thursday Happy Inkin' Blog Hop.

Stampin' Up! Itty Bitty Birthdays

Today I have a quick and easy card for you that only requires three stamps from the Itty Bitty Birthdays Stamp Set. The patterned paper does all the work! Unfortunately, I didn't find any monochromatic challenges today but I did find a sketch challenge at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. I think the design loosely fits their sketch, what do you think? Also, do you think it could be considered masculine?

Let me stress LOOSELY!

The patterned paper is from the stash I inherited from Carole. The anniversary of her going to be with Jesus is coming up next week. Our card group misses her a great deal. The sentiment is stamped and die cut with the Layering Ovals Dies, as is the mat it is on.

For the inside I stamped right on the card base.

Easy peasy! You could use any patterned paper that coordinates. I may just do that and try to follow the challenge a little more closely (smile).

Of course, I would be remiss in not wishing the team at Time Out a happy 6th!

I'm also going to play at Always Fun Birthday Challenge #155.

Thank you for stopping by today. I always appreciate the comments you leave and also when you click that "follow" button!

Stampin' Up! Perennial Essence Birthday Card

It's another Monday Makeover Madness. Hope you enjoy it more than the madness going on in the world. I madeover my card that I posted here.

The differences are that I used another portion of the Perennial Essence DSP and changed it from a Mother's Day card to a birthday card in honor of...can you guess? Why, yes...
I do believe this card is my 9th entry...lol! and I hope TOC's 6th birthday is memorable!!

I added some bling for the occasion and added leaves to the inside as well as punching the corners.

I am having too much fun...I'll be getting a Time Out soon!!

Shirley Gentry introduced me to a new challenge: Crafty Gals Corner and challenge #205 is to use Flowers.

Thank you for stopping by today and I'll see you tomorrow.

Stampin' Up! In the Meadow Birthday Card

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday deer Time Out, happy birthday to you! Are you tired of seeing me with my leftover kits from the church card ministry? I was hoping you'd say, "no"!

My colors are Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz, Night of Navy and Pumpkin Pie.

All product used is retired except for the colors. The images are from the In the Meadow Stamp Set. The DSP is from the Petals & Paisleys series in 2016. The "hello" is from the Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set.

The colors basically match the colors Sunday Stamps SSC227 chose for the next two weeks.

Now here's the birthday part for Time Out Challenge #157 We are 6! . It's only my 8th entry and I have three more days to wish them a happy 6th!!

I used the stamp from Birthday Fiesta. There are so many retired stamp sets that I just can't part with and I love getting them out in the open.

This card could serve as a masculine birthday card so I'm entering it at WWC263 - Tristan's Challenge: Anything Goes With a Masculine Twist

Thank you for stopping by today. Tomorrow I'll have another Makeover Monday.

Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Card

It's Saturday and again I'm trying to use up my card kits I made back when our church had a card ministry. This one uses all retired product with the exception of the upcoming Ornate Garden DSP, which I explained yesterday will be available to customers April 1.

The bee is cut with Detailed Dragonfly Framelits and the flowered border with the So Detailed Framelits. "Happy Birthday Wishes" is from the Avant Garden stamp set.  The oval was cut from the current Stitched Shapes Dies.

For the inside...

I used another piece of Ornate Garden DSP. The sentiment is from the Special Reason stamp set. It's cut out with the current Layering Squares Dies. Easy peasy card, yes?

Of course, you know whose birthday I'm celebrating, right? Why, yes, Time Out's 6th!

Thank you for stopping by today.

Stampin' Up! Dragonfly Dreams Birthday Card

TGIF, peeps. My card today uses oldie but goodie stamps and dies. Everything I used is retired with the exception of the inside...stay with me, you'll see.

My favorite card to make is a birthday card and that is the challenge at As You See It Challenge #221 - Preferences by Joanne James

and, of course, I'm still celebrating Time Out's 6th Birthday - Challenge #157!

This is part of clean-up-my kits resolution! I made a similar card here. I changed the layout a bit and colored the dragonfly with my Dark Flirty Flamingo Blend. My card used the retired Dragonfly Dreams stamp set, Detailed Dragonfly Framelits and the So Detailed Framelits. "Happy Birthday Wishes" is from the Avant Garden stamp set, which is a retired Sale-A-Bration set. The oval was cut from the current Stitched Shapes Dies.

For the inside, I used the Ornate Garden DSP, which will be available to customers April 1, 2020. (One of the perks of being a demonstrator is being able to pre-order. If you are interested in joining my team, let me know and I will explain more.) The sentiment is from the retired Eastern Beauty Stamp Set and it's cut out with the current Layering Ovals Die Set.

Thank you for stopping by today and enjoy today no matter what the world is throwing our way.
