Welcome to the Happy Inkin' Thursday blog hop. You're in for a treat if you have never visited before. It's a weekly challenge and this week we have a sketch challenge. I can't wait to see what the other team members created. Hop along with us at the bottom of my post.
My uncle passed away in Hudson, New York, last week so I wanted to make a sympathy card for my aunt and cousins. I brought out the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set to do that. Here is our challenge sketch...
and here is what I created for it...
My card base is Pool Party card stock, which has been embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. It's an item that will have an early release to customers April 1 and will be carried forward to the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog.
The Highland Heather mat was a piece I had laying on my desk leftover from the card kit I had prepared for our demonstrator Make and Take. You can see that here. Using the upcoming Ornate Layers Dies, I cut it down to use for my card today. It just so happens to fit in with the challenge at Little Red Wagon #542 Leftovers and at Time Out #158 Lots or a Little Purple.
The sentiment is cut with a die from the Stitched So Sweetly set. I stamped the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape. I ran my Gorgeous Grape Stamp n Write Marker around the edge of it and adhered it with Dimensionals. I added three Gorgeous Grape Noble Peacock Rhinestones to break up the white.
For the inside I used another sentiment from Flourishing Phrases and stamped the corner doohickeys from the upcoming Ornate Style Stamp Set. I used Pool Party and Gorgeous Grape ink pads.
I matted the 5" x 3 3/4" Whisper White panel to a piece of 5 1/4" x 4" Highland Heather card stock.
I hope you enjoyed my card today and thank you for joining the hop. Clicking on the "next" button will take you to Eva Dobilas. Clicking on the names below will take you directly to the other team members and their projects.

DeleteSo sorry to hear of your loss and this card will be so appreciated. It has lovely words. Such a pretty frame which goes so well with that lovely strip of paper you had hanging around....never throw anything away! Thanks for joining Time Out
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Sandie.
DeleteKaren, so sorry for your loss and I am sure this card will be comforting to your family. Love the papers you used and of course the dies...hugs to you...
ReplyDeleteThanks much, Eva.
DeleteWhat a beautiful card, I'm terrible at making sympathy cards (they make me too upset) and I'm so sorry to hear about your Uncle. I can imagine there will be alot of sympathy cards made all around the world over the coming months which is a horrible thought. I love the detail in the middle die-cut, its so intricate. And that patterned paper along the bottom is such a good idea and gorgeous too. I'm so very glad you shared this with us at TIME OUT and please stay safe!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Shona, for commenting on behalf of TO.
DeleteLovely card and great take to use the leftover on it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us this week @ Little Red Wagon. Hope to see you back again soon.
