Stampin' Up! Swirly Birds Mickey Mouse Birthday Card

Happy last day of July, peeps. I have no idea what time you will receive notification of my post but I changed the setting to Toronto time...let me know!

I brought out the retired Swirly Bird set to create the Mouse. Then I created a bow tie with the retired Bow Builder punch. I added a rhinestone and the sentiment from the retired Well Scripted stamp set. I punched it out with the retired scallop punch. There is nothing on this card that is not retired...which makes me think of a needed retirement card!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you'll return tomorrow for our Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop.

Stampin' Up! Meant to Be Mosaic Mood Wedding Card

Hello! That's safer than saying good morning when it seems like most people are getting my posts at night...lol. I changed a setting so let me know if something changed for you.

I was asked to make another wedding card so since I had my Meant to Be Stamp Set and Stitched Be Mine Dies out I created a card similar to the one I posted here.

My inspiration came from the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog
RRCB 116

Thank you, Jan. I love Tic Tac Toe challenges. I have gone down the left column with Mosaic Mood Designer Series Paper, romance and a Terracotta Tile Faceted Dot.

I'm pretty sure the Meant to Be heart stamp was new last year as was the Botanical Bliss stamped sentiment. But, just in case they are not quite a year old, the inside sentiment IS! This meaningful sentiment is from the 2008 God's Blessings Stamp Set.

My card base is Cajun Craze with a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Mosaic Mood DSP adhered to it. Before I did that, I cut the heart out of the center with dies from the Stitched Be Mine Dies.

I adhered a piece of retired Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut paper to a mat of Grapefruit Grove Foil that was free during 2019 Sale-A-Bration. Those measured 3 3/4" x 5".

I stamped the heart in Cajun Craze on a scrap of Whisper White, colored the leaves with my Mossy Meadow Stampin' Write Marker, and die cut it with the aforementioned dies after I had stamped the "Best Wishes" from the Botanical Bliss Stamp Set.

The outer heart is glued flat to the card front and the inner heart is affixed with Dimensionals. Then the faceted dot was adhered.

I had a scrap of the patterned paper so I added that to the bottom of the inside panel. The sentiment is stamped in Terracotta Tile as my Cajun Craze pad was a little too dry.

The wedding takes place in September so the buyer just asked for colors that represent fall. I think these rust colors are perfect!

Thank you so much for stopping by this morning, this afternoon or this evening!

Stampin' Up! Best Catch Birthday Card

Good morning! As I say this, I'm aware that some of you who follow me are not getting my post notification in the morning. I'm not sure why but if anyone has an answer to that, please let me know in a comment.

What a wonderful stamp set Best Catch is! AND the matching Catch of the Day dies. I watched this video on how to create my card for today. It starts off a little slow but I had to persevere because I needed to CASE Rick Adkins card. Here's mine...

I'm not going to go into the how to's because Rick does an excellent presentation of that.

Here is a photo of the interactive part...

This card was mucho work but also so much fun to create. It definitely will require extra postage and a padded envelope. I created my own with the retired Envelope Punch Board.

Because this is definitely a guy fishing, I'm entering my card in the Make My Monday Challenge #101 and Dare 2B Artsy.

If I make another card like this, I will be more aware of where to place my stopper for the sentiment and the sentiment itself. The fly fisherman should be a little lower because the "It's Your Day" goes underneath the wading pool a little too far. I don't have it pulled up all the way in the photo.

I hope you enjoyed my card today. Thanks for stopping by and remember to let me know if you have answer about the post time.

Stampin' Up! Sailing Home and High Tide Birthday Card

Good Sunday morning, peeps! Not only is it Sunday, but it's LeAnne's birthday and here is what I made for her. (Guess what one of her favorite colors is!)

I made it a few weeks ago and should have written the recipe down. I'm not sure what color the card base was...maybe Pumpkin Pie or a retired Tangelo Twist? I know there's a mat of Copper Foil on the front. I cut out the filigree frame from that piece of foil and adhered it to a piece of watercolor paper created with the Cling Wrap technique...instructions here. I used drops of Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, and Grapefruit Grove plus a few drops of Copper Shimmer Paint.

The die cut circle and the filigree frame are from the Stitched Labels Dies. I stamped the sentiment from Beautiful Bouquet on a scrap of Whisper White card stock in a bronze ink I had. Stampin' Up! will have bronze, gold and silver inks in their upcoming Holiday catalog. I added 3 pearls.

Because my card front is monochromatic, I'm entering the #63 Challenge at International Art & Soul.

For the inside, I used one of Carole's stamps that I inherited and the Sailing Home Stamp Set, along with the High Tide Stamp Set.

The water is from High Tide, the birds and boat from Sailing Home. I stamped the water in Mint Macaron and colored the boat with my Light and Dark Pumpkin Pie Blends.

Thank you for stopping by today and tomorrow I'll be posting an interactive card. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out!

Oh, and let's all wish LeAnne Pugliese a happy birthday!

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Gala Fun Fold Thinking of You Card

I'm a little late posting this Saturday morning as I apparently did something yesterday I shouldn't have so my lower back and hips are in much pain. Heat and ice for me today. Don't you hate it when that happens?

Thursday our card group made three cards and this is one of the kits I provided. There are many demonstrators out there who do this fold but I chose Tami White for my inspiration. It's most generally known as the "collar fold".  I'm entering it at Inkspirational's #192 Word Prompt "Fold".

My card is going to a six-year old girl who loves flowers and butterflies. She has just had to move from the house she loved to a new place and is quite unhappy about it. I am hoping this will brighten her day. Over at Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog, their current challenge #232 is For a Child + A Sentiment.

My 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card base is Whisper White. I cut a piece of Petal Promenade DSP to the same size. On the 5 1/2" side, I cut down to the 1 3/4" mark and folded the pieces back to form a collar. The Petal Promenade DSP is retired but SU has so many beautiful papers this year that I will list them below. I adhered that panel to the card front and stamped my sentiment in Early Espresso. (I can't remember what stamp set this belongs to. If someone can tell me, that will help me get it back to its rightful home.) I also put mini dimensionals under the collar tips.

I used the Layering Ovals dies to cut a scalloped edge of Fresh Fig and the solid edge mat of Petal Pink. I used a scrap of Whisper White for the butterfly from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set. I stamped the outline in Early Espresso and the inner sections are stamped in Petal Pink. It's cut out with the Butterfly Duet punch. I adhered the scalloped mat to the card with mini dimensionals and the second mat and butterfly with liquid glue.

This is such an easy card to create and strikingly beautiful with the available Designer Series Paper. I hope you agree!

Stampin' Up! Flourishing Phrases Wedding Card

Ah, the weekend is almost here peeps and I'm sure there will be weddings galore. I used the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set, Stitched Be Mine Dies, and Botanical Bliss Stamp Set to create my wedding card today.

It is so difficult to capture the beauty of foil paper in a photo. I used the Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Noble Peacock Foil on top of a Balmy Blue card stock for this card. I still had some retired Detailed Laser Cut DSP left from last year so I adhered that to the NPSDSP. You can order current laser cut paper and I've listed a link for your convenience below should you desire to see what the package looks like.

I stamped the sentiment from the Botanical Bliss Stamp Set in Night of Navy on a scrap of Whisper White on which I had also stamped the heart with flower sprig. I die cut it with the Stitched Be Mine Dies. I colored the flowers and leaves with a Mossy Meadow Stampin Write Marker and Light Petal Pink Blend. I glued the outside heart flat to the panel and raised the sentiment heart with Dimensionals.

For the inside, using Night of Navy ink, I stamped sentiments from the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set. I had a little strip of NPSDSP left so I adhered that to the side. There is a mat of Night of Navy card stock underneath the Whisper White panel.

The wedding has already taken place and I saw photos of the bride's dress and colors for the wedding party. I think this might be a match made in heaven!

Over at ModSquadChallenge, they have an All That Sparkles challenge so I am entering my card there.

Thank you for stopping by.

Stampin' Up! Springtime and Abstract Impressions Thank You for the Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

It's a color challenge today, peeps, and here is what I created for it using the Springtime Impressions butterfly die that coordinates with the Abstract Impressions Stamp Set...

and here are the colors if you haven't guessed already! My inspiration came from Jill Chapman, another SU demonstrator.

Image may contain: text

My card base is Very Vanilla with a mat of Rococco Rose. I took a piece of Very Vanilla and cut the butterfly out using the Springtime Impressions Dies. I adhered that piece to the Rococco Rose mat and then placed the butterfly in the negative space. I stamped the sentiment in Rococco Rose and added the same color Enamel Dots to the butterfly body. I sponged the Very Vanilla with Mossy Meadow ink.

For the inside, I stamped the grass and flowers  from the Abstract Impressions stamp set in Mossy Meadow and Rococco Rose. I stamped some second generation and some full strength. The sentiment is stamped in Rococco Rose and I sponged the Very Vanilla panel with Mossy Meadow. I know a lot of crafters like a smoother sponging, but I prefer the whispy cloud effect! Maybe I'll try smooth one of these days!! I had a strip of Rococco Rose left over after I had cut the mat for the front so I adhered that to the bottom.

This is the first time using this stamp set and I know there's a learning curve for me but it was so much fun to create my card.

Inspired By Challenge is a photo today of a centerpiece ...

and although the colors aren't inspired by the photo, the flowers are!

Stampin' Up! High Tide Flamingo Birthday

Monday I posted a flamingo card that was a makeover. You can see that HERE. I wasn't happy with the water nor the flower stamping so I made another one. Do you like this better?

I do, but I still haven't achieved the look I wanted. On this one, I used stamps from High Tide to create the water, sand and sea grass. The flamingo is from the Pop of Paradise retired stamp set. I want the legs of the flamingo to look like they are really in the water and not standing on top of it!

Still sticking with the Tropical Chic stamp set, I stamped fewer flowers and palm fronds. The one from Monday is probably going in the circular file. Here is a third one I did...

The water here was created with my aqua painter and Blueberry Bushel ink. I used the same stamp sets. I think I like the bird's legs in Soft Suede better than black and it's almost like he/she is standing on sand in the water.

So, for my birthday card, I'm playing in these challenges:

and I'm entering my Thank You card at The House That Stamps Built - ATG J2419

Stampin' Up! Bella and Friends Thank You Card

Hello from Bella and Friends! Stampin' Up! retired the stamp set this year, but not me! I just think Bella is the sweetest pup, don't you?

I made my card today for friends who invited my son and me to dinner last Saturday for homemade ravioli...yummy! We also got to meet their new 9 week old puppy, Emma.

She weighs all of 2.5 pounds and loves to lick toes!
We had such a fun evening playing Sequence and laughing a lot...good for the soul.

Now for the inside of the card...

I colored Bella with my Light and Dark Crumb Cake Blends and her friend with Light and Dark Old Olive Blends and Light Granny Apple Green. The card base is retired Chocolate Chip. The Whisper White panels are 5" x 3 3/4". Everything is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

Because I have critters on my card, I'm entering it in Challenge #28 at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Stampin' Up! Tropical Chic and High Tide Birthday Card

Back by popular demand...Makeover Monday! I brought out the current Tropical Chic Stamp Set and the High Tide Stamp Set for you today. First I'll show you the card I'm re-creating. It's one I bought from Sue L. at our P.E.O. social meeting...

and now my remake...

My card base is Pear Pizzazz with a mat of Whisper White. On a piece of glossy photo paper, I stamped the flamingo from the retired Pop of Paradise Stamp Set in Flirty Flamingo and the legs in Memento Tuxedo Black. The palm fronds from Tropical Chic are stamped in Pear Pizzazz, the flowers in Merry Merlot (some stamped off), and the one palm frond is die cut from Shaded Spruce using the matching Tropical Dies.

Using stamps from the High Tide Stamp set, I stamped the sea grass in Mossy Meadow and the sand in Crumb Cake. The water was created with an Aqua Painter using Balmy Blue. Watercoloring with the Aqua Painter is not my forte.

There are so many flamingos out there in stamp town. Do you have any? I may get out my Fabulous Flamingo stamp set (retired) to re-make this one for next Monday!

Thanks for stopping by today.
