Stampin' Up! Bloomin' Love

Wow...a New Year and my first post of the year for 

Each month Amy has a theme for which we make a card. How fitting that this month is "love" in preparation for Valentine's day. But, Amy allows us the freedom to interpret the theme anyway we choose. I chose to make my card a wedding or anniversary card.  I hope you have time to visit all the "Krew's" blogs to see the beauties each has made. None of us know what has been created until the morning they post. The creativity is amazing!

For my card, I decided to use the Eclipse Technique. I am in "LOVE" with this technique! Take a look...

The front is stamped in Real Red with the stamps from Bloomin' Love. The letters are cut out with the Large Letter Framelits. My card stock is Real Red and Whisper White. (Measurements are listed below.)

I placed the top white mat and a piece of Red Glimmer paper on top of each other and cut the letters out with my Big Shot. I glued the cut out white letters to the cut out glimmer letters. After layering the first three mats with glue to the card base, I adhered the letters to the letter openings in the top mat with Foam Adhesive Strips.

For the inside...

I used a mat of Whisper White, punched the corners with the retired Corner Trio punch (you can use whatever punch you have), stamped the heart from Bloomin' Love in Rose Red, stamped off twice. I then stamped the sentiment from Floral Phrases in Real Red full strength. I stamped the little heart flowers in the corners using stamps from Bloomin' Love. That is such a great stamp set and can be used for more than Valentine's day!

My upline, Mary, is next on the hop and she has taught me never to mail out a "naked" envelope so I stamped another flower on the front left corner and used the same stamp three times on the back.

Stampin' Up! Lovely Amazing You

So, remember my New Year's resolution? Yes, clean out my retired Stamp Sets and DSP! Well, I have changed it from "clean out" to "use"! What are you going to do with me? (That's a rhetorical question by the way!)

Here we go...

My card base is Mossy Meadow, black mat, 4 Lost Lagoon mats, 3 pieces from Going Places DSP, a mat of Mossy Meadow on which I stamped the sentiment in Versamark and embossed with black embossing powder using a stamp from "Lovely Amazing You". I bought that set for the envelope stamp and haven't even used it. The three dots are Old Olive candy enamel dots, which are also retired. (I have three packages of those!) 

I'm so sorry not to have used current products here, but what am I to do with all my retired products? (That is not rhetorical...I am open to suggestions!) ... blog candy or maybe even prizes for people who come to one of my classes? Do they want retired products??

I promise if you'll come back tomorrow, I'll use ALL new products!!

Stampin' Up! Love in the Woods

Thanks for stopping by tonight (or tomorrow!). Sandy has a theme challenge on The Paper Players PP375...

Anyone who knows me, knows I love puns! So, here's my punny valentine...

This is going to be a quick description because it has been a long, rough day...my brain is FRIED!

My card base is Real Red 5 1/2" x 4 1/4". I used the Woodland TIEF to emboss a piece of DSP from Wood Textures (5 1/4" x 4"). I cut hearts out of Real Red and smaller hearts out of Whisper White that I stamped in Real Red using the Labeler Alphabet stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Rose Wonder

This sentiment from Rose Wonder is just beautiful, don't you think? and it's perfect for the double gate fold card that I used from Nancy Ferb. 

We made this card at our card group so I'm not sure what the DSP is, but I love it! Maybe Sweet Pea? That's the trouble when the DSP is taken out of the package and the label is thrown away. I am learning not to do that!

I'm so happy that Just Us Girls has an Anything Goes challenge this week.

Stampin' Up! Crafting Forever Feminine Birthday

Happy Wednesday peeps! I did not get to clean up my craft room, I did not get to clean out retired stamps, I did not get my card inventory organized and I did not have to cook. BUT I did get to make today's card!

I CASE'd (copy and selectively edit) my upline, Mary Deatherage. Click on the blue link to see her card...and here's mine...

Stampin' Up! Love

I did not get to clean out my old stamps today either. BUT, I didn't use any retired items on my card. I found three challenges today in which I will enter it.

1. Cuttlebug Mania - Flowers & Dies 
2. Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge #280
3. Stamp, Ink, Paper #131 Emboss It!

For the Cuttlebug challenge, I used Stampin' Up's Stitched Shape Framelits and my Big Shot for my square die cut. I'm not sure what company the heart die is from but I bought it before I was a Stampin' Up demonstrator.

For SIP's challenge

I used the Garden Trellis TIEF from Stampin' Up! 

My card base is Tranquil Tide, the embossed panel is Calypso Coral, the square is from Painted Autumn DSP, the heart is Whisper White and the banner is Tranquil Tide. It was cut with the Banner Triple Punch. 

Here's where I goofed...the lighting in my room is not the best. I thought the ribbon was Tranquil Tide, but alas I discovered it was Island Indigo Ombre...and it was already adhered...so it now identifies as Tranquil Tide! (I have scraps left and I will try to color it with my Stampin' Write marker!)

The "love" sentiment is from Hold on to Hope, which will be available tomorrow in the Occasions catalog. (Leave me a comment if you would like a catalog.) I used a Calypso Coral Stampin' Write Marker to ink only that word (the the entire sentiment is "God is Love"). I adhered the Calypso Coral heart, from the Subtles Enamel Shapes, with a glue dot.

Stampin' Up! Retired Stamp Sets

Hope you all had a wonderful New Year's Eve and Day...we did. I have already broken one resolution! I am supposed to be cleaning out my retired stamps and giving them to a friend. However, after watching the Rose parade this morning and seeing all the beautiful flowers, I have decided I can't part with these two stamp sets. Maybe tomorrow will be different as I continue to try.

The flower is from Best of Flowers and the sentiment is from Love & Sympathy. One of our friends in the community passed away and he will be dearly missed. We used to play cards with him and his wife. She won't know how old the stamps are and I know she loves hydrangeas.
