Stampin' Up! Daffodil Afternoon Fun Fold Friday

TGIF, peeps! My card today is one we made yesterday in our card group. Sue L. had the Daffodil Afternoon DSP (retired SAB 2022), Pear Pizzazz Cardstock fun fold (Kokorosa Dies) all cut for us, along with the two circles. All we had to do was glue and stamp on the Daffodil Delight Circle. The card base is Daffodil Delight Cardstock.

I used the beehive stamp from SU's 2002 Mini Mates Wood Mounted Stamp Set.

I think I'm going to stamp some bees on the front or add some bee trinkets (retired). I'm also not sure what I'm going to do with the inside.

I'm entering my card at Creative Creases #31 - Anything Goes with a Fun Fold

Thank you for stopping by today and have a great weekend.

Stampin' Up! Hand Penned Petals Congratulations Card

Welcome to another HITBH! If you came from Jaimie's site, I'm glad you are continuing the hop. If you haven't then I hope you'll continue to hop using my links below. No matter what, I'm glad you're here. Today we have a sketch challenge and here is what I created for it...

and here is our sketch...
As you can see, I flipped the sketch. I think it has something to do with Feng Shui. I just felt more energy with the sentiment on the right rather than on the left.

The colors I chose were inspired by Cupcake Inspiration #542.
and my design was inspired by The Sisterhood of Crafters: April Showers Bring May Flowers and the theme is for Krafty Chicks Challenge #609 All Occasions. The card is for a young man who just got a job working for a dream company.

My card base (5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4") is the new 2022-2024 In Color, Orchid Oasis Cardstock. You'll be able to see it in the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog on May 3. With my iPhone camera, the colors did not come out true to life, unfortunately.

I dry embossed a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of Orchid Oasis cardstock with the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder.

Next I stamped a piece of Basic White with a stamp from the Hand Penned Petals Stamp Set, using Basic Gray ink. I colored the leaves with my Light and Dark Parakeet Party Stampin' Blends, another new In Color, which is a lime green. Oh, how I love that color! It's similar to Lemon Lime Twist that retired a few years back.

I colored the centers of the flowers with my Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends. I had the little four dot stamp from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set sitting on my desk so I inked it up in Orchid Oasis ink and stamped it three times. I adhered it to my embossed panel with liquid glue. I ran a piece of the upcoming Parakeet Party 1/8" Metallic Woven Ribbon around that and secured it on the back with tape. Then I adhered it to the card front with liquid glue.

The sentiment, from the Hand Penned Petals Stamp Set, is stamped in Daffodil Delight on a scrap of Basic White and cut out with a die from the Give It a Whirl Dies, which have carried over to the new catalog, along with the the Hand Penned Petals...so thankful for that!! I adhered it with mini Dimensionals. I colored three Pearl Basic Jewels with my Dark Orchid Oasis Stampin' Blends to finish the card front.

The inside is simple with the flower stamp, another sentiment from Hand Penned Petals and a mat of Parakeet Party Cardstock.

Stampin' Up! 2022-2023 Annual Catalog Die Cut Picks

Good Tuesday morning, peeps. In case you didn't see an earlier blog where I said I was cutting back on my card blog time, I am only blogging about my card creations on Monday, Thursday, Friday and the 2nd Tuesday of the month. I know, this is not the second Tuesday, but it's also not a card! It's this... a list of my top 20 choices of dies in the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog, which is available to customers May 3, 2022. Some picks are new and a few are carryovers. I will only list their location when the page changes. Hope you find this snapshot helpful when it comes to May 3 and thereafter!

  1. Artisan Additions (p. 169): There are two that are considered “cover plate dies” and one is a corner die.
  2. Beautiful Shapes Dies: These dies coordinate with the Hello Beautiful Stamp Set (p. 114) and Framed Occasions Stamp Set (p. 33). They are geometric shapes.
  3. Brushed Shapes (p. 170): There are nine dies in this all collection…hearts, squiggles, dots, circles. I can’t wait to see them in action.
  4. Cracker & Treat Box: This is a ten die set with the large cracker box, five incredible sentiment strip dies in various sizes and shapes, with two tags, three hearts, and three stars. I tried to make a cracker box once but this will be easier!
  5. Deckled Rectangles: If you are tired of using your scissors or other tool to distress your edges, this one is for you. There are eight dies that are perfect for mats.
  6. Delicate Edges: There are four large dies in this collection that beautifully coordinate with all of our products. If you like borders, this one’s for you!
  7. Designer Tags: If you love tags, check out p. 26 to see how they were used.
  8. Dots & Spots: This is what I would definitely classify as a cover plate, like the large die in Potted Succulents. This large die is 4-1/2 x 5-3/4. You can use it to cut, dry emboss or stencil. I ordered it!
  9. Enchanting Details (p. 171): This nine die-cut set is just that! You’ve got to see this one for yourself.
  10. Fabulous Frames: These dies coordinate with the Good Feelings Stamp Set (p. 18). The largest frame was designed for the large sentiments in Good Feelings. The other five dies coordinate with other products.
  11. Fancy Frames: Who Framed Roger Rabbit? These dies could! If you like frames on your cards, these are perfectly fancy!
  12. Give it a Whirl: This large 21 die set is a carryover, and I’m thrilled because I have it. I’ve made numerous cards with it. It’s a fun set and interactive.
  13. Love You More Than (p. 172): Another carryover that I am thrilled about. If you love coffee, cookies, chocolate, cocktails or know people who do, you need this set! It has a coordinating stamp set on page 20.
  14. Painted Labels: These dies have been out for a few years. I don’t own this set. Perhaps this is the year?
  15. Palms is a must if you live in southwest Florida or anywhere there are palm trees! I own this one too and it’s great for silhouettes!
  16. Scalloped Contours (p. 174): These dies carried over from last year and coordinate with the Color & Contour Stamp Set (p.97). There are eight dies, five of which are scalloped mats in varying sizes, a scalloped border, and two images for the stamp set. I bought this as a bundle last year and saved 10%. This year it is not bundled.
  17. Split Card Textures: There are two different angle-patterned dies that could be used on our notecards. These might be on my next order!
  18. Stitched Rectangles: These dies have been around for several years and are my go to when I use the Watercolor Shapes Stamp Set (p. 102) and everything else!
  19. Stylish Shapes (p. 175): I know these will get a real workout I own them!
  20. Twigs & Sprigs Embossing Folder & Die: This is a marriage made in heaven for anything floral. The die cuts out 10 pieces of twigs and sprigs! Better than punching a bunch of sprigs!

I can't show you anything from the inside of the catalog, but isn't the outside pretty? It's the Hues of Happiness Suite Collection...a must have product! I'll be able to put the digital catalog on my side bar May 3. Be sure to take a look see and thanks for stopping by today.

Stampin' Up! Grassy Grove Fun Fold

Welcome to my Monday Makeover Madness once again. I made this type of fun fold last Friday and you can see it here. For this one, I changed the Designer Series Paper and the sentiments. I'm entering my card in the Allsorts Challenge Blog: Week 673-I Spy Something Beginning with a B. There's a lot of black going on here, along with buds and blooms! Because it's a fun fold, I'm entering it at Creative Creases #30 and for an ATG challenge at Pammie's Inky Pinkies 2217.

The Designer Series Paper is from the Perfectly Penciled patterns available on May 3, 2022. The sentiments are from the Grassy Grove Stamp Set and the top one is cut out with the Label Me Lovely Punch. The stamped flowers are from the Days to Remember Stamp Set.

pretty paper, eh? I thought about coloring the flowers and leaves but then realized how much effort that entailed so I went monochromatic and lazy!

Here's the view from the top...

Measurements:

  • Basic White Card Base: 5 3/4" x 4 1/4", scored and folded at 3/4", 1 1/2", 2 1/4", 3" on the long side; 2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″ (x3 – pinwheel panels); scrap for sentiment
  • Basic Black Mats: 2 5/8" x 4 1/8" (3); 1 3/4" x 4 1/8" (4)

Stampin' Up! Sweet as a Peach Fun Fold Birthday Card

Welcome to my fun fold Friday card. There are a number of demonstrators who do fun folds on Friday so I thought I might as well jump on the bandwagon. Did you know that idiom was first seen in 1848. Seems like a clown had a circus wagon that he used to transport politicians around town while the music attracted people to the place where the politicians made their speeches. Seems to me a lot of politicians are clowns these days. Oh, did I say that with my outside voice? Hope I didn't offend anyone with my humor! Let's get back to the fun fold and leave the fun facts behind!

This fold is called the Pinwheel Tower Fun Fold and I have posted it twice on my blog. Here and here. I used the Sweet as a Peach Stamp Set and the Peach Dies. The Designer Series Paper is no longer available but you can use anything you have on hand. I also used the retired Classic Label Punch for my sentiment but there is a die in the Peach Dies that will cut it out as well. The flowers were stamped in Balmy Blue on a scrap of  DSP that I had and cut out with the Peach Dies. I used Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz inks for the sentiments.

Peach trees bloom in the spring so I am entering my card in the Seize the Birthday #236 - Signs of Spring Challenge.

Crafty Gals Corner: Challenge #230 - Spring/Easter, and Dragonfly Dreams: April Challenge - Spring/Easter.

There are many videos on You Tube where you can see how to assemble the pieces. Just search for Pinwheel Tower. Here are my measurements for this card.

  • Basic White Card Base: 5 3/4" x 4 1/4", scored and folded at 3/4", 1 1/2", 2 1/4", 3" on the long side; 2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″ (x3 – pinwheel panels); scrap for sentiment
  • Calypso Coral Mats: 2 5/8" x 4 1/8" (3); 1 3/4" x 4 1/8" (4)
  • DSP: 2 1/2" x 4" (3); 1 5/8" x 4" (4); scrap for flowers
Thank you for stopping by today and I'll see you on Monday.

Stampin' Up! Flowing Flowers Birthday Card

Welcome to another HITBH! If you came from Sue's site, I'm glad you are continuing the hop. If you haven't then I hope you'll continue to hop using my links below. No matter what, I'm glad you're here. Today we have a theme challenge and here is what I created for it...

and here is our theme...

My card base is Tahitian Tide, one of the new 2022-2024 In Colors, available to customers on May 3, 2022.

I cut a piece of the upcoming Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper and colored the flowers and leaves with Stampin' Blends in more new In Colors: Sweet Sorbet, Parakeet Party, Starry Sky and Orchid Oasis. My butterflies are colored with the Dark So Saffron Stampin' Blends.

The 1/8" Parakeet Party Metallic Ribbon will also be available May 3. The ribbon is wonderful to work with. Be sure the ribbon is on your wish list...it comes in the 5 new In Colors!

I attached the DSP panel to the card front with Stampin' Seal. The fussy-cut sentiment is from the Flowing Flowers Stamp Set, stamped in Tahitian Tide ink and edged with ink. I adhered it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The inside is quite simple...

a butterfly from the Butterfly Brilliance Stamp Set, stamped in Orchid Oasis and another sentiment from the Flowing Flowers, stamped in Tahitian Tide ink.

I'm entering my card in these challenges:
Seize the Birthday - butterflies and flowers...sure signs of spring!

Stampin' Up Daffodil Daydream Easter Card

Welcome to my Monday Morning Makeover Madness. For this one, I changed the colors. You can view the original here (with credit to Ann Alexander). That is where you will find instructions and product used.

I had a wonderful time in Tennessee looking at a townhouse I had hoped would meet my needs. There were a few things I didn't like so I came home empty handed. It did have a bonus room for my card making. No view of the mountains or water, which is a must for me.

Speaking of card making, I have decided to cut back on creating them so I will only be posting on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and the 2nd Tuesday of the month.

I'm entering my card at Global Design Project #GDP339

Thanks for following me and stopping by! See you Thursday!!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter my peeps!

"As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. "Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you'."

Stampin' Up! Positive Thoughts for the Happy Inkin' Blog Hop

Welcome to another HITBH! If you came from Mary's site, I'm glad you are continuing the hop. If you haven't then I hope you'll continue to hop using my links below. No matter what, I'm glad you're here. Today we have a sketch challenge and here is what I created for it...

and here is our sketch...
I stamped a panel of Basic White with Daffodil Delight Ink splatters from the Daffodil Daydream Stamp Set. I created a mask for the butterfly from the Positive Thoughts Stamp Set (retiring) and stamped it three times right side up and three times upside down. I felt like I was creating a Rorschach Test!

Next I stamped the sentiment from the Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set in Bumblebee Ink (a retiring color) and cut it out with a die from Scalloped  Contours. I cut the scalloped backing with the largest die in that set. I used Bumblebee Cardstock for that. I adhered the art panel to the scalloped piece with liquid glue but wish I had used Dimensionals. The sentiment is adhered with Dimensionals. Three retiring 2020-2022 In Color Square Gems finished the front.
I love monochromatic cards AND I love yellow.

The inside is quite simple with a sentiment and the butterfly from Positive Thoughts. The sentiment is stamped in Bumblebee Ink and the butterfly in Daffodil Delight.

Stampin' Up! Easter Friends

Good mid-week morning, peeps! After this card and tomorrow's card, I'll be taking a little vacay from stamping but I'll be back on the 18th.

I made another card with the Easter Friends Stamp Set. I do believe this is my favorite stamp set this year. I've used it a lot!

and I've used the retired Easter Message Stamp Set a lot as well.

If you have any questions about how it was made and what I used, please either email me or leave a comment with your email address and I'll get back to you next week.

In the meantime, thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll come back tomorrow for our Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop. Have a Good Friday and a blessed Easter.

Stampin' Up! Daffodil Daydream Easter Card

Welcome to another Inkin’ Krew monthly blog hop! Our very talented team is doing a blog hop featuring Stampin’ Up! products. This month we are all creating projects with a “For the Girls/Ladies" theme and we can interpret that any way we want. I have chosen to create a feminine Easter card.

Do you make and send out Easter cards? I do!  Ann Alexander who is on the SU Artisan Design Team, provided my inspiration for my card today.

I used Smoky Slate cardstock for the base, with Basic White for the panel. I stamped the dots from the Daffodil Daydream Stamp Set using Polished Pink Ink on the Basic White panel. Then I ran a piece of the Polished Pink Ombré Gift Bag through the Bark 3D Embossing Folder and cut it out with a Layering Circle Die.

I used one of the florals from the Daffodil Daydream set and stamped it on a  Basic White scrap using Smoky Slate Ink. Then I cut it out with the Daffodil Dies along with some stems from Evening Evergreen Cardstock. I colored the image with Light Stampin' Blends (Polished Pink,  Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight).

I adhered the stems and daffodil image to the embossed circle with glue dots and liquid glue. I tied a bow using a piece of Polished Pink Open Weave 3/8" Ribbon and adhered it to the floral image with a glue dot. I punched the small dragonfly with the Dragonflies Punch from the Ombre Gift Bag and adhered it with a glue dot.

For the final touch, I stamped the sentiment from Daffodil Daydream on a scrap of Smoky Slate with with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. I fussy cut the sentiment and adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

For the inside...

I used the cross from the retired Hold on to Hope Stamp Set, the sentiment from the retired Easter Message Stamp Set, the ground from the Wildlife Wonder Stamp Set and the grass from the Easter Friends Stamp Set. I used Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Crumb Cake inks.
