Stampin' Up! Happy Tails

Happy Tuesday and Happy Tails for you today, my peeps.

This stamp set is the star for this week over at What Will You Stamp WWYS #217.

For once I'm not using the set as a pet sympathy nor a birthday card. My penpals in Maine have an ill dog who has been in and out of the vets. They are still trying to figure out what is making Lefti so sick. I am sending the family this card for encouragement.

I don't usually make CAS cards but I am trying to play in all the challenges at Alphabet Challenge Blog. I've entered cards for "A" and "B" so I can't miss out on "C"! So, clean and simple it is...

My card base is Whisper White 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I began by stamping "Lefti" with Early Espresso and colored him in with Bronze and Ivory Blends. His collar is stamped in Smoky Slate and the heart is stamped in Real Red. I added some lines with my Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker to give his tail some motion.

Then I punched "Lefti" out of Gina K's masking sheets using my Dog Builder Punch. I stuck it on the card front and sponged the sky and grass while holding down a die from the Layering Circles Framelits. I used Balmy Blue and Pear Pizzazz ink pads. The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso.

The inside is CAS as well and I will be writing a little note to the kiddos and their parents.

I surely hope this pup will be home by the time they receive their card. Here's what Lefti looked like when they first got him. They have fattened him up!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope I'll see you tomorrow.

Stampin' Up! Animal Expedition DSP Happy Birthday

Hello Stamper!

For those of you who are into Stampin' Up! and watch You Tube videos, can you guess who is the subject of my Monday Makeover Madness today? The clue is "Hello Stamper". Yes, it's France Martin, a/k/a Frenchie. I've been watching and learning from her since I started stamping and I hope to meet her in person one day. But for now I have to just admire her work from afar. You can view her video on how this mirror image from the Animal Expedition DSP and Animal Friends Thinlits Dies is achieved.

Animal Expedition, animal outing, Petal Palette, Mirror Image, Stampin'Up!, Frenchie' Stamps,

and here's my makeover...

Her technique was amazing but I feel like Manfred Mann is singing "Blinded by the Light" to me! You are welcome for that earworm! and you won't understand if you don't watch the video!!

So, for my card, I used a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of the Animal Expedition DSP. I adhered it to a Whisper White card base. I used my retired Number of Years to stamp the sentiment and number on a scrap of Whisper White. The sentiment is stamped in Smoky Slate and the number is stamped in Pineapple Punch. I cut it out with the largest oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits. I adhered it to the card front with Tombow glue. I adhered the rhinos with mini dimensionals. Because I used words on my card, I'm playing again at  Double Trouble Paper Crafting Challenge #27 doing Thing 3, babble babble!

I'm doing Thing 1 by gathering my stuff (yes, it is easier than folding a fitted sheet!)

and Thing 3 by linking up to one of their previous partners Creative With Stamps #37

Now for the inside...

I cut the kangaroo out of the same DSP using another die from Animal Friends Thinlits. The Happy Birthday is cut from Mango Melody cardstock using the Happy Birthday Thinlits Die that is retiring in May. I wonder if this 2 year old boy will realize the baby in the pouch doesn't match the momma?

I'm also playing today at Dragonfly Dreams Include an Animal and at The Library Challenge 32 - All Creatures Great and Small where your card has to be based on the cover, title or story of the book the DT chose. I chose inspiration from the title as the rhinos is HUGE and the birds are tiny. Ssh, sneak on over to see what I mean.

I had so much fun creating this card and I thank Frenchie and all the challenges for the inspiration and opportunity to play. I also thank you, my readers and followers, for stopping by and hopefully leaving a comment!

Stampin' Up! Weather Together Meets Gorgeous Grunge

It's a splendid Sunday here in southwest Florida but my card today shows anything but that!

I'm playing in two challenges today and this card was made in a hurry because one is about to close in an hour or less and the other closes tonight...so on with the show!

Double Trouble Paper Crafting is the first stop. I did Thing 1 and Thing 3, which led me to Thing 2...Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe Challenge
I did the bottom row. My card stock is Whisper White, the die cuts are from the Umbrella Weather retired SU dies and I added pearls to the otherwise plain umbrella, a/k/a bumbershoot (who knew!). My rain is created from stamps in the Weather Together and Gorgeous Grunge stamp sets. I used Smoky Slate for a mat and for stamping.

I hope you enjoyed my card and that you'll be back tomorrow for Monday Makeover Madness.

Stampin' Up! Daisy Delight

My card today is similar to the one we made in my first class the other day. I believe it was inspired by Diane Barnes.

My card base is Whisper White with a mat of Night of Navy and one of Daffodil Delight. I die cut six squares from the retired Delightful Daisy DSP and adhered them to the yellow mat.

Using the Daisy Delight stamp set, I stamped two daisies in Night of Navy ink and punched them out with the Daisy punch.   I glued them together and adhered it to the card front. I added a gold faceted gem in the center. The sentiment is from Painted Glass, stamped and sponged with Night of Navy ink. Easy peazy!

Since daisies will be popping up soon in the northeast, where I am originally from, I've decided to enter the challenge at My Time to Craft #395 Spring Flowers.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Stampin' Up! Colorful Seasons

Happy Friday, peeps and I hope you are looking forward to a great weekend.

My inspiration came from Leanne Johnson and I finally got around to creating the retirement card. The dinner for our pastor and his wife was Wednesday night but I had to cancel due to my back problem. So, here's the card I will get off in the mail to them today.

My card base is Thick Whisper White. I used a mat of Designer Paper from the Coastal Escape pad by KaiserCraft that looks like a beach and the sea. I adhered it to the card front BEFORE I realized I wanted the linen thread on it! Ugh!! But it is what it is!!! Since we are at the beach and "splish splashing" even though it's not in the tub with Bobby Darin, we can splish splash at Double Trouble Paper Crafting #26, Thing 1. If you haven't visited this blog and challenge, you are really missing out!

The sentiment is from Colorful Seasons and I stamped it with Versamark and heat embossed it with Copper Emboss Powder. I'm so pleased that my iPhone captured the "glow". It doesn't usually. That particular stamp set came out in 2017 so I'm playing again at Retro Rubber Challenge #109 with the "Anything Goes" theme.

I cut out two Adirondack chairs that can sub as beach chairs...very versatile, you know! They are cut from Bermuda Bay card stock with the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies. I gave the tops a little lift by bending them with my bone folder. I only glued the bottoms to the patterned paper.

For the inside, I printed out the bible verse from the challenge at Word Art Wednesday. You don't have to use the verse for the challenge, but I wanted to. This verse is the King James Version. I loved the font that WAW used.

I am partial to the New American Standard Bible, which reads: "The generous man will be prosperous. And he who waters will himself be watered." Pastor AND his wife have done that for years and they have both watered my soul, especially while Perry was so ill and after his death. They are a very special couple and I hope they will take time to relax before they go on to something new. They love cruises but for their retirement vacation, they are going on a safari...but not at Disney World! May they be refreshed and showered with many blessings for the generosity of their time in ministry and genuine love for people.

I adhered a mat of Bermuda Bay to the inner card base. Then I adhered the sentiment mat to that BEFORE I remembered I wanted to stamp a palm tree! I'm Quick Draw McGraw today! So, Stamparatus to the rescue! I also could have used my retired Stamp-a-ma-jig to line things up. I used the palm tree from the Beach Happy stamp set, which will be retiring in May. I stamped off once for the trunk and the fronds so it wouldn't detract from the verse. I used Pear Pizzazz and Crumb Cake.

Thank you for stopping by and hopefully leaving a comment. I love them you know and I read every single one!

Stampin' Up! Handwritten for the Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to our weekly blog hop. This week Amy gave us a sketch challenge and I hope you will be excited to see all the different cards that our team members have created. But, first let's take a look see at the sketch and what I created...please!

Image may contain: text

Here is what I created...

I began with a Powder Pink card base. I stamped a mat of Whisper White with the Handwritten stamp in Powder Pink. I adhered that to the card front. I then cut two banners from the Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper and adhered those to each other and then to the mat.

I cut a circle from the Floral Romance Designer Series Paper (the vellum pattern) and then a circle from plain vellum. On that I stamped a sentiment from Floral Frames using Fresh Fig ink. Because the ink was so juicy, I was able to sprinkle Clear Emboss powder over it and heat set it. I adhered it to the floral vellum with mini dimensionals. I added three pearls to make it look like a design behind the pearl!

Now for the inside...

I used my Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Write Marker to ink up the sentiment that is attached to the koi from the All the Good Things stamp set. I added the Happy Graduation in Fresh Fig. That is from the Well Said stamp set. I finished the mat by punching each corner with the Detailed Trio punch. Marsha has an Occasions Challenge at Watercooler Wednesday. I've been waiting a long time for this particular graduation and it happens in May!

Since my card is mainly pink, I'm also playing at Creations In Pink. If you love pink, that is the place for you to visit!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you enjoy the hop! Clicking on the "next" button will take you to Eva Dobilas. Clicking on the blue links will take you directly to that team member.

Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree

Lovely as a Tree has been my most favorite stamp set ever and it is well loved and stained. We used the single evergreen yesterday for one of the cards I did for the class.

Here I used the tree line with the reflection technique. There are many You Tube Videos on this technique so I won't go into detail on how to do it. Some people use window sheets for the process but I used my sheet that goes with the Stamp-a-ma-jig. That tool is retired BUT you can order it from the Clearance Rack for $7.20! It's a wonderful tool even if you have the Misti or Stamparatus.

Today I'm playing at Retro Rubber
RRCB 109

This stamp was released in 2001 and SU is now retiring it. If you like it and want it, hop to it! It is available until May 24. After that if the supply is depleted, it will not be available. (See product below)

Wondering what set the "Happy Birthday" is from? Well, it's one from the Perfectly Penned stamp set, which has been retired since 2014. I just love the fonts in that set and cannot part with them.

So much talk about retirement...if you read my post from yesterday, I'm supposed to be creating a retirement card for one of our pastors. I get so easily sidetracked...lol. Here's the reason why...it's Stinkin' Inkers fault! I'm participating for the third time in their Earth Day Tree Challenge. They limit entries to three so my work there is done!

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you'll return tomorrow for our weekly Happy Inkin' blog hop.

Stampin' Up! Well Sorta

Hello, peeps! Today I was going to have pictures of the first card class I led with 15 ladies who had not stamped before...or just a tad. We ended up with six and I told them I'd like to post their pics with their cards on my blog. They did an amazing job for first time and they asked to do it again...woo hoo! I was so excited about that, that I forgot to take the pictures! I'm exhausted and have no time to create a card for you today.

So, to honor the memory of my friend Carole, I'm posting a picture of a card she created and for which I have the kits that she never got to do with our group. Here you go...

It almost looks like a napkin, doesn't it? Carole loved her paper and she used to own a print shop so she knew all about paper. I'm still learning.

Thank you for stopping by today and tomorrow I'll be back with one of my creations. I need to make a retirement card for a retirement party tomorrow night. Nothing like waiting 'til the last minute...and it's a masculine one at that! Wish me luck!

Stampin' Up! Playful Backgrounds Happy Birthday

Good Monday Morning Makeover Madness! Hope y'all had a spectacular Easter or are still enjoying Passover. We spent a fun afternoon with my brother and sister-in-law playing games and eating a delicious ham dinner.

First off, I want to thank Su Mohr for her inspiration and allowing me to CASE her card. Here's Su's card...

By Su Mohr for Seize the Birthday; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: retiring products, Happy Birthday die, In Colors, Tranquil Textures DSP, Adhesive Sheets; #retiringproducts #happybirthday #birthdaycards #floatingbubbles #handmadecards #handcrafted #stampinup #diy #adhesivesheets

It should be easy for you to guess what colors I chose.  Here are two hints... Just Us Girls
and Sunday StampsI have used 3 of their colors in varying shades.

Ta da...

My iPhone does not pick up the colors that great but my card base is Garden Green with a mat of Mango Melody (which is a yellowish orange). Truer colors can be seen in my partial product list below.

Creating my own patterned paper is such fun. On a Whisper White panel, I stamped the dots with Cajun Craze (a dark orange), Garden Green and Crushed Curry. This stamp set will be retiring in May and this is the first time I have used it! The Happy Birthday die cut, which is also retiring in May, is done in Crushed Curry.

Su used many punched out dots on her card but that was too tedious for me so I only used three in Garden Green, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie. I had found them in my hole punch! They are adhered with half a mini dimensional...and that is why not so many punched dots!!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope your Monday is not filled with madness!
