Stampin' Up! Demos Fun Fold Blog Hop

Welcome to our first monthly SU Demos Fun Fold Blog Hop. If you love fun folds, you have come to the right place! The list of hoppers is at the end of my post and I do hope you'll hop along. I'm sure you'll be in for a real treat. For now, let's hop to the fun fold I created with the Wonderful World Designer Series Paper.

Several demonstrators have done videos for what they call a "twisted" fun fold.  I'm not sure who came up with it originally, but you know it wasn't me if you read my post from 8/19 here! I'll try my best to show you with my template/mock up.

Card base 4 1/4" x 7 1/2", scored at 2 1/2" and 5". This gives you three sections. On the right section score diagonally from the top right corner to the bottom of the middle panel score line. Do the same for the left section, scoring from the top left to the bottom left corner of the card base.

Now that the scoring is done, let's do some folding and burnishing, shall we? Fold the middle section into itself creating a valley fold. Fold the diagonals back creating a mountain fold. It should look like this...

Okay, now for the fun part of cutting your mats and DSP. Cut two pieces of Basic White 2 1/4" x 3 7/8". Then cut them on the diagonal. It makes no difference what direction you go because you can flip them around to fit the card.

The DSP is a different story. A picture is worth a thousand words...
WRONG CUT ON SOLID  DSP ABOVE and on left below!!!

Cut your 2nd DSP pattern going the same way diagonally as the first DSP pattern.

I suggest you lay out your pieces before gluing them together so there are no "oopsies"...lol.

So, with the template/mock up working correctly, I went to work on the real deal making sure my directional patterns were right before I cut them!

For my real card, I chose to use both white and Pear Pizzazz mats. The center panel is Basic White cut at 2 1/4" x 4".  I stamped the sentiment and image with the Kindest Gnomes Stamp Set. I colored her with Stampin' Blends and one of the Blends was disintegrating.

The outer sentiment is from the Beauty of Friendship Stamp Set and is cut with a die from the Labels Aglow Dies. I adhered the left half with Stampin' Dimensionals.

  9. Great tutorial and instructions for your cute card. What are the dimensions of the DSP piece before cutting? It looks about 1/8" smaller right? Thanks
