Stampin' Up! Winter Owls Birthday Card

What day is it? Well, according to the camel, it's "hump day". Did you see they brought back the Mike, Mike, Mike ad for GEIKO? In my world, it's Wednesday and welcome! Take a look see at what I created...

I made this card for my daughter's birthday. She showed me a drawing of the next tattoo she wants. It's similar to the owl on the upper right.

I thought the big die from Aspen Tree Dies (retired) was quite appropriate frame for the owls to nest on. I sponged the Basic White cut out trees with Misty Moonlight and Old Olive inks.

The retired All About Autumn DSP was the perfect backdrop for a fall birthday on a Cajun Craze base. The moon and owls are from the retired Winter Owls Stamp Set. The owls are cut out with the matching dies. The "moon" is stamped in Misty Moonlight, which was a mistake! I meant to use Mossy Meadow but pulled out the wrong ink and wasn't paying attention!

I cut the retired Balloon Celebration sentiment with a die from the retired Stitched Labels. I adhered it over the Calypso Coral Copper Bordered 3/8" Ribbon using layers of Dimensionals. I had glued the ribbon to the card because it wasn't tied in a bow. To cover the spots of glue, I adhered Painted Patch Adhesive-Backed Dots.

For the inside, I used another stamp from the Balloon Celebration set and another owl from the Winter Owls. The balloons are from the same DSP and were punched with a punch from the Party Punch Pack (retired). The bow tying the strings is from the retired Lots of Lavender Stamp Set.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you'll also visit TTTC303 where I have entered my card. I chose to go straight across the top with fall colors (the background DSP), frame and ribbon...such fun!
