Stampin' Up! Pampered Pets Birthday Card

Happy Martin Luther King day. If you have the day off, it is indeed happy for you!

"Christianity affirms that at the heart of reality is a Heart, a loving Father who works through history for the salvation of His children. Man cannot save himself, for man is not the measure of all things and humanity is not God. Bound by the chains of his own sin and finiteness, man needs a Savior."

Martin Luther King, Jr.

Today is my Monday Makeover Madness card. The card I made over is this one. Here's how it looks madeover.

I adhered a piece of Playful Pets Designer Series Paper to a Basic Black card base after I had wrapped a length of Real Red Double-Stitched Satin Ribbon around it.

Then I stamped the sentiment from the Pampered Pets Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and cut it out with one of the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I used the same die set to cut out the Real Red rectangle. I die cut the pup from one of Playful Pets DSP patterns using a die from Pets Dies. The sentiment and pup are adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

For the inside, I stamped the sentiment from Best Year in Real Red ink. I stamped the dog image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored his collar with my Real Red Stamp N Write Marker. The bowl is stamped with another stamp from Pampered Pets. I got a double image so I inked it with the red marker!

The envelope received a piece of Playful Pets Designer Series Paper.

I'm entering my card at:

Stampin' Up! Game On Birthday Card

As promised, here's another Game On birthday card for the order on Monday. I was inspired by Rose Packer, again. Measurements are listed at the end of my post.

My card base is Basic Black cardstock. I cut a Basic Black mat and ran it through my embossing machine using the Tasteful Textile 3D EF. Then I cut a piece of Perfectly Plaid DSP (retired) and adhered it to the embossed mat. I ran a piece of Real Red Double Stitched Satin Ribbon around the mat and adhered the mat to the card base.

I cut a piece of Real Red cardstock and a piece of Basic White cardstock. I stamped the chess pieces from Game On with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays with Real Red ink. I adhered the art piece to the mat with liquid glue. Then I adhered the mat to the card front with Black Stampin' Dimensionals. Easy peasy!

I used a sentiment from the Best Year Stamp Set for the inside of my card.

I'm entering my card in these challenges:

Stampin' Up! Game On Masculine Birthday Card

Good Saturday morning, peeps! Hope your weekend turns out to be a pleasant one in spite of what's going on in the outside world.  The world of stamping is most pleasant, don't you think?

I used the Game On Stamp Set again for my card today. It's part of the card order that I have to deliver on Monday.

I started out by stamping my Basic White card base with stamps from the Game On Stamp Set. I created my own background so I'm playing at TGIFC#299 - Background Stamps again.

I adhered a piece of Cherry Cobbler and a piece of Perfectly Plaid DSP (retired) to the card base. Using an image from Game On, I stamped it on a scrap of Basic White using Cherry Cobbler ink. I cut it out with a Stitched Nested Labels Die and adhered it to the DSP panel with Stampin' Dimensionals. I added three Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels. I was inspired by Rose Packer.

The sentiment from the Game On Stamp Set is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on a scrap of Basic White and punched with the Classic Label Punch. I punched two pieces of Cherry Cobbler cardstock, cut them in half and adhered them on the back of the sentiment. Then I adhered that to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. I'm also entering my card at Die Cut Diva's - Frame It Challenge, Craft Rocket #77 For the Boys/Men, and Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper January 2021 Challenge.

The inside is quick and simple. I just stamped the sentiment from Happiest of Birthdays Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler ink right on the card base!

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Tomorrow I'll have another Game On card to show you.

Stampin' Up! Game On Birthday Card

My card today has a story behind it. It was supposed to be my card for yesterday's hop but I realized that two of the papers I used have been discontinued by SU. Somewhere along the way I missed that info.  This was the third one I made for the color challenge. I had made two prior cards but then realized I had used retired DSP on them. Our hop is strictly current product. You'll be seeing those cards Saturday and Sunday. What is white and black and red all over...no, not the newspaper...Karen's cards! Oi!!! I was commissioned to create cards based on the Netflix series, "Queen's Gambit" so that's what this is about. See I told you it had a story behind it!!!

I used the Game On Stamp Set and Happiest of Birthdays Stamp Set to create my card.

My card base is Basic Black cardstock. I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock (which has been replaced by Basic White cardstock) and stamped the checkerboard image all over it with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink to create my background. I'm entering my card in the TGIF Challenges! #tgifc299.

The Red Velvet Paper (discontinued but you can substitute Real Red Cardstock) and Black Glimmer Paper (also discontinued but you can use Basic Black Cardstock) are cut with the Tailored Tag Punch. Here's a video link to show you how it's done. I did a dry fit until I got the hexagons where I liked them and adhered them with liquid glue. If you have the retired Hexagon Punch, that will save you time.

I stamped the chess image from the Game On Stamp Set on Basic White cardstock using black ink. I used my Stamparatus because I knew I was going to restamp it with VersaMark Ink. I sprinkled it with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set it. My iPhone didn't capture the shine, however. I punched it out with the Label Me Lovely Punch. I also punched a Real Red piece, cut it in half and adhered it to the back of the image with liquid glue. I adhered that to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Then I ran a piece of 3/8" Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon around the art panel and tied a bow.

I stamped the sentiment from the Happiest of Birthdays Stamp Set on scrap Basic White in VersaMark Ink and sprinkled Silver Emboss Powder on it and heat set it. I fussy cut it, sponged the edges and adhered it to the card front with Dimensionals. Then I adhered the panel to the card base with liquid glue.

For the inside, I cut a mat of Real Red and a panel of Basic White. I stamped the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthdays Stamp Set in Real Red. I stamped the chess piece image slightly off the bottom left corner in Tuxedo Black.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed my card.

Stampin' Up! Pampered Pets for the Happy Inkin' Krew

Welcome to the Happy Inkin' Thursday blog hop. You're in for a treat if you have never visited before. It's a weekly challenge and this week we have a color challenge.

I used the Pampered Pets Stamp Set for my card and chose red as my third color.

My card base is Whisper White cardstock (which has been replaced by Basic White due to the supplier closing). I cut a panel of Real Red cardstock and  a piece of Playful Pets DSP. I adhered them together with liquid glue and ran a 6 1/2" piece of Real Red Double-Stitched Satin Ribbon around it and adhered the card front to the card base.

Next I stamped the dog image on a scrap of white and cut it out with the Pets Dies. I colored his collar with my Real Red Stampin' Write Marker. I colored the pup with my Light and Dark Black Stampin' Blends. I adhered him to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. I found a black heart from the Dog Builder Punch laying on my desk so I stuck it on the ribbon with a glue dot. Why not?

The above photo was taken in the Light Box my son ordered for me, which was a total surprise!

For the inside I cut a piece of Real Red cardstock, a piece of Basic Black cardstock and a piece of Whisper White (Basic White) for my sentiments. I used the Best Year Stamp Set for the sentiments and the heart stamp from Pampered Pets. I colored the hearts with my Light and Dark Real Red Stampin' Blends. All measurements are listed at the end of the post.

I'm entering my card in these challenges:

Stampin' Up! 3" x 3" Thank You Cards

Sunday I showed you photos of my scrap bin and entered the speed challenge at As You See It. I 'm continuing to use the Whisper White cards and DSP from my stash. I gathered all the other things I would need and then set the stopwatch.

I timed each one separately...

I was quite surprised at the stopwatch. The first card took 2:54; the second 1:59; the third 3:22 for a total of 7 minutes, 35 seconds.

On the first one I wrapped a piece of white twine around the Come Sail Away DSP (retired) and added three different sized Rhinestone Basic Jewels. I adhered the sentiment with Stampin' Dimensionals. It shouldn't have taken so long but I had trouble getting the twine situated and tied into a bow.

The second one uses the Magnolia Lane DSP (retired) and I adhered three Pearl Basic Jewels. The sentiment is stamped in Mossy Meadow and adhered with Dimensionals. Again, I don't know why it took almost 2 minutes when the sentiment was already stamped and punched.

The third one I understand why it took 3 minutes...I sponged around the edges of the punched sentiment and inked up the twine with Night of Navy ink. Not thinking ahead, I had already adhered the sentiment with Dimensionals. I had to  tie the anchor with the twine and fish it under the sentiment. I anchored it with a glue dot. (See what I did there!) Next time I'll know better and get the anchor in place, then add the sentiment!

So in total, my three thank you cards took 7 minutes 35 seconds. The sentiment on each one is from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set and they were punched with the Label Me Fancy Punch.

I hope you have the time to check out the challenge and even enter! I might not let myself create anything this week except for what's in the scrap bin! Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you'll be back tomorrow for our Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop.

Stampin' Up! Forever Blossoms Wedding/Anniversary Card for Amy's Inkin' Krew Blog Hop

Welcome back to another monthly Inkin’ Krew Team blog hop! If this is your first time for our hop, you're in for a treat! Our very talented team is doing a blog hop featuring Stampin’ Up! products. This month we are all creating projects with a “love” theme. We can interpret that any way we want and I have chosen to think wedding or anniversary. I’m featuring the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set and Stitched Be Mine Dies for my project. My design inspiration came from Jill Chapman and my technique by Linda Heller.

My card base is Basic White with a mat of Purple Posy. I took a piece of Basic White cardstock and sponged it with Frost White Shimmer Paint and let it dry thorougly overnight. I ran it through my embossing machine the next day using the Old World Paper 3D EF. SU also has Pearlescent Specialty Paper you could use but I wanted to give this technique a try.

I stamped the striped heart in Highland Heather and cut it out with one of the Stitched Be Mine Dies. The "Love" Purple Posy heart is cut out with a die from Arrange a Wreath Dies. The white heart is embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D EF and is cut out with a die from the Stitched Be Mine, along with the Purple Posy heart frame. I'm entering my card in Try Stampin' On Tuesday: Challenge #489 Use Dies.

The "Always and Forever" heart (Forever Blossoms Stamp Set) is punched with one of the Heart Punch Pack punches. The three little flowers are die cut from the Arrange a Wreath Dies. I added three Basic Pearl Jewels to the centers. I adhered everything to the card front with liquid glue and Dimensionals.

For the inside, I kept it simple...

a sentiment from Forever Blossoms and the image from Meant to Be. The matting is the same as the front...Purple Posy and Basic White. I really am enamored with this card and I hope you are too!
