Stampin' Up! Whale Done Birthday Card

Yesterday I showed you a pair of flip flops that I purchased from Regina and today I'm showing you how I recreated them.

Mine are not as smooth a cut as Regina's but I'm happy with them but I couldn't get the card to lay flat for the photo. I chose to use Just Jade (or was it Mint Macaron?) for the soles of the flip flops and shells for the inner soles, which is from a patterned paper I bought at the Owl and Pussycat. Wow, do I miss that store, Carole and Regina. My ribbon is retired SU but I can't remember the name. I had everything cut before we left home and I just put it together and stamped it in NC.  The flowers are from the Boho Indigo Product Medley. I used the Whale Done Stamp Set on the envelope front.

The inside is totally stamped with the Whale Done Stamp Set. The whales are punched out with the Whale Punch, which I did bring with me, along with the Whale of a Time DSP 6 x 6 pack.

and at Word Art Wednesday: Anything Goes #458 - #459. For the Inspire.Create.Challenge #078, you have to use your imagination as I turned the sketch on its side!

World Card Making Day is Next Weekend

October 3, 2020

Amy's team held this event last year for WCMD and it was so much fun that they decided to do it again!  All are welcome to join in watching!  They've got their page set up and here's the link!

When you get there - click on "Join Group" at the top.  One of them will accept your request and you'll be ready to go!  Once that happens, you'll ALSO want to set your Notifications to "All" so that you get a notice for all the posts that are coming! I am not a participant but I will be watching!

They've got their schedule ironed out  but, of course, it's subject to change because life sometimes get in the way!

Trust me, you won't want to miss it AND it's FREE!!!

Flip Flop Day

My card today is one I purchased at the Owl and Pussycat when it was in business. The owner said I could recreate it by making a template from it, which I have done. I'm in the process of putting it together using different paper, ribbon and flowers. I will post it tomorrow, hopefully.

Tres chic, yes?

Thanks for stopping by today!

Stampin' Up! Heartfelt Anniversary Mystery Card

Welcome to Mystery Monday again. Another person in our card group decided to join our "virtual" weekly card making. I'll show you what they created farther on down. This week they only had one clue to follow because I was in the process of packing up for NC.  They could use three at a minimum and could add neutrals. They could also substitute close colors if they didn't have these.

Yesterday would have been my 51st wedding anniversary so I thought it appropriate to make an anniversary card if my husband were still alive. I am sending it to a couple whose birthdays are the same day so they got married that day. Therefore, they never forget each other's birthday nor their anniversary! Perry always remembered ours and I always forgot. One year when we were having a garage sale, getting ready to move to Florida, we both forgot! So, without further ado, here's my creation...

I used the Heartfelt Bundle (save 10% on Bundling!) to create the front of my card, along with the splatter from the Forever Fern Stamp Set.

Once again I forgot to take a picture of the inside before I signed it. What are you going to do with me? I used the "love & laughter forever after" stamp. The "happy anniversary" is from the retired Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set. For those who don't know, "Gene" is my son who lives with me and is friends with this couple as well. The strip of paper is from an Avery Elle stack that I inherited from Carole.

Meg chose to use Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper and the Bloom and Grow Stamp Set. Isn't her bow just beautiful?!! Her card is so colorful and I love how she used the Magenta Madness.

and here's Edie's (welcome Edie!) ...

Edie used the same DSP as Meg but used the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set and did a gatefold card. Love it!

I must admit I can't contain my excitement for these ladies participating in the mystery challenge to support me and my friend, Jeannie, as she blooms and grows in hopes that her next birthday will be memorable...as it might not have been. You can read about her at Dragonfly Journeys #139 Encouragement & Celebration, where I'm entering her challenge for the second time.

Thank you, Beth, for the color inspiration!

I'm also entering my card in the Always Anything Goes Challenge #68 at Crafting Happiness (I'd love it if you'd visit and click "like" on my card entry!) and at Pammie's Inky Pinkies ATG Challenge #2039.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope to see you again tomorrow.

Stampin' Up! Happiest of Birthdays Gnome Card

Do you remember when I made a gnome card for the Celtic Ray? You can click on this link to view it.

I created it the same way, just colored it with different Stampin' Blends. The sentiment on the front is from Happiest of Birthdays.

I thought gnomes and toadstools went great together so I brought out my retired Painted Seasons DSP.

The inside sentiment is another created by me on my computer. I hope the Ray will eventually buy this one too!

I'm entering my card at Dragonfly Dreams: Happy Birthday challenge in memory of Traci. I'm also entering my card at Dragonfly Journeys and I am beyond thrilled that I can enter there...please visit Jeannie's blog!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you'll be back tomorrow for my Mystery Card Monday post.

Stampin' Up! World of Good Masculine Birthday Card

Hey! It's Saturday and I'm on my way to the mountains in northwest NC! Woo hoo! We've been waiting since June to return!!

On August 29 I made this card for my grandson...

and this month I made this one for my nephew who is into astronomy and has a great telescope that he built himself. This is what his looks like...

I think I like the bannerized one better. How 'bout you? The inside is basically the same as the August one just a little different cut on the World of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper.

The sentiment is from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set, stamped on a small card from the World of Good Memories & More Card Pack.

Thank you for stopping by today and tomorrow I'll be posting from chilly NC!

Stampin' Up! Whiskey Business Masculine Birthday Card

TGIF, peeps! Today we will be packing and loading the truck to head for the mountains. It will be such a relief getting out of this heat...have I mentioned that before? LOL! I think SO!

My card today uses the Whiskey Business Stamp Set and I made it for the owner of the Celtic Ray in Punta Gorda. If you ever are nearby, it's a true Irish Pub...no domestic beers and great Irish food. Sometimes a little Indian as well for a weekly curry special. Their naan is to die for!

I used an Early Espresso card base on which to mat my Designer Series Paper from In Good Taste. Then I adhered the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper. I had a whiskey bottle and glass left in my stash so I adhered them with Dimensionals.

The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and cut out with a die from the Tasteful Labels die set. I also sponged the edges with Early Espresso ink.

I forgot to take a picture of the inside before I wrote in it, but it said, "You're top shelf" and "Happy Birthday." I stamped another whiskey glass in the bottom corner.

I am entering my card at Alphabet Challenge Blog: M - Anything that begins with M and my masculine card for Mr. Kevin Doyle is a Perfect Manhattan! The M's have it! Now that I have read the recipe, I'll be adding the lemon twist on the card before I mail it in October.

A Perfect Time to Craft always has an "Anything Goes" Monthly Challenge so I'm entering my card there, also, as well as at Aud Sentiments #260 ATG + Sentiment.

Than you for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful weekend planned.

Stampin' Up! Pattern Play Birthday Card for the Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin' Thursday blog hop. You're in for a treat if you have never visited before. It's a weekly challenge and this week we have a color challenge.

I can't wait to see what each team member has created. Hop along with us at the bottom of my post.

Sometimes I'm an over achiever and I just had to use all the colors with the Pattern Play Stamp Set and Playful Alphabet Dies!

I used my Stamparatus to create the background using Blackberry Bliss stamped second and third generation, Pretty Peacock full strength and Cajun Craze hearts, full strength. I adhered the Whisper White background mat to a Blackberry Bliss card base.

"Laura" is Basic Black card stock mounted on Foam Adhesive Sheets and cut out with the Playful Alphabet Dies. I LOVE the new adhesive sheets! The sentiment is stamped in Pretty Peacock on a Whisper White scrap and cut out with one of the Ornate Frames Dies. It's adhered with Dimensionals.

On the inside, I stamped open hearts in Blackberry Bliss, third generation and a couple of Cajun Craze hearts. The "Happy B Day" is from the Happiest of Birthdays Stamp Set and the second sentiment is from Pattern Play. I punched one corner with my Detailed Trio punch and adhered the Whisper White liner to a mat of Pretty Peacock.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and thank you for joining the hop. Clicking on the "next" button will take you to Akiko Sudano. Clicking on the names below will take you directly to the other team members and their projects.
