Stampin' Up! Moon Baby

I had an order for a baby card but the only one I had was for a boy. So, using the same design, I created one for a girl!
You can find the instructions by clicking the link in my boy baby card post here. In that post, just click on Mary Deatherage's name.

For this card, I used retired DSP, a retired embossing folder, gold glimmer paper, gold metallic stars and gold Wink of Stella. I colored the onesie with my Pink Pirouette Blends and the skin with the Ivory Blend. If you want more particulars, drop me a line.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Butterflies Are Free!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #445 had a lovely sketch by Janice that I wanted to try.

I think I succeeded...what do you think? These butterflies are free flying every which way.

You have to love purple and shades thereof to like this card. Amy would not like to receive this, but I have another friend who will be so happy with Wisteria Wonder (my SU card base). The darker purple butterflies are brads, which I guess are not in style these days. The little silver butterflies are die cut from silver foil using an old SU embosslits folder. The sentiment is from a Paper Pumpkin kit and it was punched with the Pretty Label punch. I sponged it with Wisteria Wonder ink. The DSP is from a First Edition Pretty Flowers 6 x 6 stack.

Thank you for stopping by. See you tomorrow.

Stampin' Up! Half Full

Today's card is yet another for Cystic Fibrosis. I used the same stamp set as yesterday.
On this one, I used DSP from Eastern Palace, gold foil paper, my Blends, an enamel dot and Rich Razzleberry cardstock. I love this stamp set.  If you do too, I can help you purchase it! Just click on any product image below and it will take you directly to my store. Unfortunately, the Blends are temporarily unavailable, but you can use Stampin' Write Markers and a Blender Pen.

Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to your visit tomorrow.

Stampin' Up! Half Full and Springtime Foils

This card is made for the Cystic Fibrosis Silent Auction for May in Maine...say that ten times fast! I'm hoping it will bring in more than ten times what it is worth!

This cause is so near and dear to my heart because my two young pen pals have been dealing with this disease since they were born. Their parents are so strong and so are the kiddos. I have made some serious cards for this cause, but this is a fun one.

If you are interested in purchasing this card for the cause, let me know and I'll make another one. OR, better yet, if you are interested in making this with me, let me know in a comment (you'd have to live near Ft. Myers though!)

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope I'll see you tomorrow!

Stampin' Up! So Many Shells, High Tide, Colorful Seasons Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Hello again...yes, that's a long title, but my post won't take long! It's that time to hop along with some great crafters again. I am grateful to Amy and all the others who put much time and thought into it. Our theme today is based on three colors, Dapper Denim, Lemon Lime Twist and Basic Gray.
Image may contain: text

The technique I'm using is called "retiform". It is one of my favorite techniques. This one is made by marking off the sections lightly with a pencil once I layed the stamps on top of the mat. Once I had the lines drawn, I used a long piece of card stock to sponge the sections, making sure I went heavier on the edges. Check out You Tube for various tutorials. AND, since this is a beach themed card, I'm entering it in Cardz4galz Challenge #67.

My card base is Basic Gray (4 1/4" x 5 1/2"). I cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock for the mat (4" x 5 1/4"). Everything is sponged in Lemon Lime Twist and all the stamping is Dapper Denim and Basic Gray.

The shells are from the So Many Shells stamp set, as is the sentiment. The sling back chair is a two-step stamp from the Colorful Seasons stamp set. I used Basic Gray and Dapper Denim for that. The drink is from that same set. It's a miracle that the birds from the High Tide stamp set didn't knock that drink over as they were walking across the card!

For the inside, I stamped everything in Dapper Denim on a mat of Lemon Lime Twist. I used another set of birds from High Tide, along with the sea grass and sand. The sentiment is from Colorful Seasons.

If you have any questions about my card, please leave a comment with your email address. In the meantime, I hope you'll click on the names listed below who have participated in the hop. If you click on the "Next" button you will be taken directly to Julie Johnston's work of art. You can also click on any name below to go directly to that site.

Stampin' Up! Petal Palette and Springtime Foils

Since yesterday was the beginning of spring, I thought I'd make a spring card and enter it in Global Design Project's sketch challenge #GDP130
and Try it on Tuesday Mood Board - The Call of Spring

I just loved the colors on the board and I love birds and flowers. My card for you today has both.

My card base is Dapper Denim with a mat of Lemon Lime Twist. I used another mat of  Springtime Foils colored with my Blends. The bird is from Petal Palette, stamped in Basic Black, and cut out with a circle from the Stitched Shape Framelits. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.  It is cut out with the Classic Label Punch. My little scalloped part under the sentiment is  a retired punch but you could use the new Ticket Tear Border Punch. My "ribbon" is Dapper Denim baker's twine

If you have any questions on how to make this, please let me know in the comment section and include your email address.

Thank you for visiting and I'll see you tomorrow!

Stampin' Up! So Many Shells and High Tide

My card today is a technique called "retiform". My colors are Dapper Denim and Marina Mist. I took a long piece of cardstock and placed it many ways, each time sponging heavily on the edge and more lightly in the open space. I sponged with Marina Mist and stamped with Dapper Denim. Then I placed Post It Notes to block off each section and stamped an image from the So Many Shells and High Tide Stamp sets wherever one fit. You just repeat the process until it looks the way you want! I will have an upcoming post that shows a second way to do this technique.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope to see you tomorrow! Carpe diem!

Stampin' Up! Waterfront

This is the second time I have inked up this set. I want to thank Julie Johnston for her inspiration. You can view her card here and here's my card...

I used the Wood Textures DSP and the Waterfront Stamp Set to create this card.

Measurements:

Soft Suede card base: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
Wood Textures DSP: 5 1/4" x 4"
Thick Very Vanilla cardstock front mat: 5 1/4" x 4"
Very Vanilla inside mat: 5 1/4" x 4"

I cut out the maple leaf with the Leaflets Framelits Dies. I layed that on the Thick VV mat and then lined up my stamps using my Stamparatus (available to customers June 1).

I stamped the mountain in Soft Suede, the pines in Always Artichoke and the water in Pacific Point. I filled in the lake using my Pacific Point watercolor pencil and blender pen. I sponged the sky with Pool Party.

Stampin' Up! has a wonderful product called Foam Adhesive Strips. I put those all around the back of the maple leaf opening and adhered it to the art panel. Then I adhered that to the card base.

The inside is pretty straight forward...

The sentiments are stamped in Soft Suede and the trees in Always Artichoke.

Thank you for stopping by. If you would like to purchase any of these products, I can help you! See you tomorrow.

Stampin' Up! Ribbon of Courage

My cards today are made for a Cystic Fibrosis silent auction in Maine coming up in May. They have come so far in their research and I and my extended family are thankful.

I CASE'd B.J. Peters card, which you can see here. She has wonderful directions for you so I won't repeat them. She also had a link for ribbon colors associated with a cause. I'm including it here

My first one is done in Fresh Fig. I thought this was close enough to burgundy and there are many causes and meanings for it. The one that is nearest and dearest to my heart is neck cancer. That's where my husband's cancer started almost 5 years ago and spread to his lungs, liver and bones. He is still fighting the good fight!

This next card is done in Lemon Lime Twist and represents the cause for our daughter, Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Tranquil Tide is close to Jade or Teal and our good friend lost his battle with liver cancer. He died the day my husband received his first chemo treatment. It's a day burned into our memories.

Pink is so well known and that too has hit our family.
My sister is a breast cancer survivor.

I am grateful that someone thought of different colored ribbons to commemorate victims and survivors of these dreaded diseases. Thank you, Patty Bennett, for designing this stamp set. It is one of my favorites and it will never retire in my collection!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful weekend. If I can help you with any supplies, just contact me here.

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Gallery Thinking of You Fun Fold Friday

Yay, it's Friday...a fun fold Friday at that! Here's what I created for today. My design came from Mystery Stamping night with Dani...
