Stampin' Up! Accented Blooms

Good morning from New York State in the Adirondacks where it is not hot nor humid! We left that behind yesterday. We stayed overnight at the Marriott Tampa Airport Hotel Sunday night and every hotel, TSA and airline staff were absolutely wonderful in helping with the wheelchair, walker and luggage. We left at 6:20 AM so we were up at 3:30 am! We went from Florida to Albany in 2 hours and 15 min. That's just about as long as it takes me to make a card some days...lol. Our son-in-love and daughter took us to lunch and then we drove to Perry's sister cottage on West Caroga Lake.

This is a card I made at card group last Thursday. Sue L. was our hostess and she had three cards for us to make. This one was done with a glitter embossing paste and stencil. As most of you know, it is difficult for me to make a CAS card but this one passed muster, I think, for the Addicted to CAS Challenge #141 Summertime. I would love to have these flowers growing in my summer garden. It's summer year 'round in Ft. Myers, but it is too hot and tropical for any of these so I just like them on my card outside and inside. Hope you do too.

I used Call Me Clover, Basic Black and Whisper White cardstock. The inside stamps are from Accented Blooms. I colored the flowers with my Watercolor pencils and a Blender Pen. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with Gold Emboss Powder.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you missed me yesterday. I missed not posting but it is wonderful to be with our family again after not seeing them for more than a year. August will go by too fast, I'm sure.

Stampin' Up! Petal Promenade - The End!

This is the last of the Petal Promenade you'll see for awhile. We are leaving for Tampa in a few minutes and then tomorrow we fly to Albany, NY and return September 2. The oncologist gave Perry a cycle off from chemo so we could make the trip. I almost forgot to print our boarding passes. We haven't flown in over ten years so I'm a little rusty. I will be taking a card kit with me so I hope I have internet in order to keep my blog going.

I've used up this particular pattern from the Petal Promenade collection so I better find another design from it that I really like. I just love that cabbage flower as it reminds me of the ones we saw at the Art Festival at Disney when we stayed at the Grand Floridian last year.

Here's a card I created quickly. The inside had already been stamped so it was just a matter of making the base and slapping on a couple of pieces of Designer Series Paper.

Thank you for stopping by and hope to see you real soon! I might miss tomorrow being it's a fly day and we are meeting family at the other end.

Stampin' Up! Stitched All Around

I was inspired by Tuesday Morning Sketches #463 for my card today. I'm not a fan of square cards either, but I think this gives the illusion of being square.

I used a die from the Stained Glass Thinlits and dies from Layering Squares to make my squares. I dry embossed my Soft Sea Foam card base with the Garden Trellis TIEF. My squares are Mossy Meadow and Soft Sea Foam. The sentiment is from Stitched All Around and is stamped in Mossy Meadow. I colored the Basic Pearl Jewels with my Mossy Meadow Stampin' Write Marker. I used retired Washi Tape for my cross piece. It was the from the 2014-2016 In Colors, of which one was Mossy Meadow. I can't begin to tell you how happy I am to have that color back...but I think I might have already told you in another post!

For the inside, I used Mossy Meadow for my mat. The sentiment is stamped in Mossy Meadow on a piece of DSP from Tropical Escape. I cut it out with a die from Stitched Labels Framelits. I have a white gel pen to write my name on the dark cardstock.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Tomorrow I'll be in Tampa, but you can still visit me here! C ya!!

Card with a Twist!

My card today has nothing to do with Stampin' Up! It has to do with a good friend who drew out the template for me and gave it to me at lunch the other day. We ate at a Greek restaurant and I had wonderful Dolmades, the best I've ever eaten.

Afterward we went to a little craft store and I bought the stick-on words that I love. I got them in every color there was: black, copper, gold, silver and white! Carole bought her favorite paper, Graphic 45.

Now, on with my card...it's called a "pop up book card". Here's what it looks like on the outside...normal A2 card. At Just Add Ink #419...Just Add A "Twist", you will see my twist.

and the inside from above...the twist is it's 3D inside!

the inside looking straight on...

If you are interested in making a card like this, just follow the instructions here. Thank you, Just Add Ink, for this delightful twist challenge. I'm grateful you didn't ask me to do the Twist...Chubby Checker I am not...chubby...maybe!

Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you tomorrow. If you have any questions about the paper I used, ask away!

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Day for the Happy Inkin' Krew Thursday Blog Hop

Hey there...you're back...glad to see you! This Thursday it's a color challenge...take a look...
Image may contain: text
and here is how I chose to use the colors...

I used my ink pads (Blueberry Bushel and Mango Melody) and a Blender Pen to color my butterfly.  It looks like I used green, but you know what happens when you mix blue and yellow together! The outline is stamped in Gray Granite.

The sentiment is stamped in Gray Ganite and is from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set. I added my own stitches around the Whisper White panel and adhered three Rhinestones Basic Jewels. The edges are sponged with Blueberry Bushel ink. I adhered that mat to my Mango Melody card base with mini dimensionals.

I chose to leave the inside blank because I intend to write a personal note. The corners are punched with the Detailed Trio punch.

Thanks for stopping in today and I hope you'll click on the "next" button to visit Julie Johnston. You can visit all the other hoppers by clicking on their names listed below.

Stampin' Up! Petal Promenade Butterflies

Good Wednesday morning, peeps! I hope you will like my card today. I made it for a special friend AND for Nance's challenge at The Paper Players and also City Crafter Challenge 422 - Butterflies

For my card I used a friend's die (Memory Box Reverse Butterfly Collage Craft Die) to cut out the butterflies from a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. I mounted it on a piece of Petal Promenade DSP with dimensionals. I then adhered that to my card base.

I stamped the word "friend" in Blackberry Bliss using a stamp from Stitched All Around and drew a little doo dad underneath...guess why? Yep, ink smudge and no eraser yet!

For the inside, I punched all four corners with the Detailed Trio punch. I stamped the sentiment from Enjoy Life with Blackberry Bliss and adhered the Very Vanilla panel to a piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you'll return tomorrow for our Happy Inkin' Thursday blog hop.

Stampin' Up! Tropical Chic Part 2

I'm on an Angela McKay kick, I think. Right now she is in Alaska with all the other demonstrators who met the goal for the all expense paid trip from Stampin' Up. Last year they went to Thailand, in 2016 the Mediterranean, next year they go to the Greek Isles and in 2020, it's Hawaii. That's my goal peeps...to go to Hawaii!! Right now I'm only a hobby demonstrator (but still would love to receive an order from you) but I may go full steam ahead in October or November...we'll see. Back to Angela...my card is based on the one she did in the video I linked you to yesterday. You could play "spot the differences" with this one! Because there are flowers all over, I'm entering the challenge at Allsorts Week 476/477.

Today was doctor appointments again so time was of the essence!

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you tomorrow.

Stampin' Up! Tropical Chic

My card today is a CASE of Angela McKay's. There are so many talented demonstrators on You Tube. She is a real hoot!

I changed up the DSP, the shape of the sentiment and the colors. Rather than reinvent the wheel, I'm giving you the link to watch her! Angela McKay Tropical Chic Video

I used Soft Sea Foam and I think she used Pear Pizzazz. I had "snippets" of Whisper White on my desk so I fussy cut my sentiment to give it a ragged look. I may give the "snippet" flower a pearl center before I sell it or send it. What are "snippets" you ask? Well, you can find out here at Pixie's Crafty Workshop Challenge #331.

Thanks for stopping by. See you real soon!
