Flowers

More flowers cards were made at our card club gathering. I have no idea what the stamp sets were or the ink colors, but it was fun.

Promoted

Today my friend's son was promoted to Captain for American Airlines. Their colors are red, white and blue. I couldn't figure out how to do the eagle part of the logo and I didn't have a big, red "A", so I settled for this!

Cupcake Challenge

Today's challenge was CC584 on Splitcoaststampers.com. If you have never been to this website, check it out. I love it!

All products are Stampin Up unless otherwise noted. The color challenge for Tuesday was Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Watermelon Wonder. I didn't have those colors so I chose Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey and Office Max Cherry. The cupcake bottoms were stamped in Early Espresso. The tops were stamped on In Color 2014-2016 DSP, using Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Blushing Bride inks. The cupcakes I had to fussy cut, but SU does have a punch for the cupcake top (actually a cloud!) I punched the candles out with a punch from the Party Pack. The card base is Whisper White cut at 5 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4. The panels are 2 5/8 x 4. The stamp set I used for the outside was Sprinkles of Life, which benefits the Ronald McDonald House.

The inside...

The birthday sentiment is from an extra stamp set included in the May Paper Pumpkin kit. The balloons, strings and sentiments were from Balloon Celebration stamp set. Please leave me a comment if you have any questions or just to say whether you like it ... or not! If you are interested in purchasing SU products and don't have a demonstrator, let me know.

Bear Hugs

Thank you, Dawn Griffith, for providing instructions on how to make these two cards. They will be in the mail to my 7 year-old girl and 10 year-old boy pen pals! Hazel likes to perform and is a budding artist. Edgar loves karate and has some really good moves. (Hazel also does karate!) They both have cystic fibrosis and they are both "fighters" but have some really bad times. I hope these cards bring them joy.

Paper Pumpkin

This card is from the May 2016 Pumpkin Paper kit using Bohemian DSP rather than the paper that was in the kit!

This card is one hot mess! I was just trying to show the new 2016-2018 In Colors! It will not go out to anyone!

A Rose is a Rose or Is It?

This is the card Lynne made for yesterday. It's beautiful...

This is what I created today because I didn't have the necessary items to use...
I think it came out okay, don't you? I'd love it if you would leave a comment so I would know if you think ALL roses are beautiful! I know which one I prefer, but I can't invest in copic markers!!

Another Challenge

Yesterday was card club. Lynn and Hannah had some beautiful cards for us to make. Once again, I found myself challenged with embossing. One of these days I'll get the hang of it! I have never stenciled before and have no stencils. There were two cards I didn't finish...one involved a stencil and one involved copic markers, which I don't own and have never used. Improvisation was in order today to make the remaining two cards. This first one is Hannah's stenciled version and the second is what I came up with.

The one using copics I will post tomorrow with Lynne's version and how I had to adapt.

The following cards I was able to finish but I lost one of them...or so I thought...it was stuck (by a glue dot) to the bottom of my Paper Pumpkin box and fit perfectly so I didn't notice. However, today it fell off when I went to use my markers (I keep them in the PP box!) I hope my cards don't fall apart so easily with the adhesive I use!

I have so much fun with this group and it was great to meet a new woman who talks to herself when she makes her cards...now I know I'm not alone! Thank you, Lynn and Hannah, for a terrific choice of cards.

Trees

My husband received a gift in the mail this week from his roommate in college. They haven't seen each other in 50 years and have had no contact until a couple of weeks ago. He received a phone call from his friend while we were at Disney. It was one of the highlights of our stay there. The gift was a 365-day devotional and had a beautiful golden brown cover. I made this card for him to send back. The burlap ribbon gives the appearance of a fence, don't you think? The oak tree signifies strength and endurance, which both men need as they have fought and are fighting the battle against cancer.

Gift Card Holder

At card group we celebrated Cinqo de Mayo with a delicious tortilla soup, taquitos, chips and the usual dips. It was a delicious lunch. Afterwards, we made a gift card holder and 3 other cards. It was my first time using chalks as a medium.

This card was done with chalk.

It's 88 in Maine!

This card was made for an 88 year old woman from Maine. Again, all products are from Stampin Up. The stamps are from By the Tide and Number of Years. The ink is Real Red and the cardstock is Very Vanilla.

Graduation

My friend's granddaughter is graduating from Hodges University. Their colors are burgundy, taupe and gray so I tried to come as close to those colors as I could. All products are Stampin Up. I used Blackberry Bliss for the card base and the Wildflower DSP for the chevron. My thanks to Linda Bauwin for her tutorial on how to do this. The sentiments were embossed in gold. On the inside, I used the "she Believed she could, and she Did!" from the Feel Goods stamp set, which is retired. I made a tassle out of gold baker's twine and adhered it with a gold brad. I also added a few pearls to make it even more feminine!

Confirmation

My friend's granddaughter is being confirmed this month so I made this card for her. I love the retiring SU hardwood paper for the cross. I used SU Kinda Eclectic stamp with gold embossing to portray the rays of Christs's resurrection. I found the "blessing" on Pinterest.

Wedding

Our friend, whom we met in 2012 at the Lazydays Crown Club, is getting married in a couple of weeks. We are so happy for her but can't attend the wedding due to our need to be at Moffitt then. Although we are no longer members of the Crown Club, she is forever in our hearts.  I hope she will like the wedding card I made for them.
