Thank You!

Today I had no intention of making a card, let alone 8 of them! But, I received an example for a challenge this morning and a request this afternoon for Thank You notes for a number of people. This was fun! The inside says "to thank you".
I used card stock from Office Max (blue, green, pink and yellow), some scraps from Stampin Up and Stacked with Love washi tape from SU. The outside stamp is from Picture Perfect and the inside is from Perfect Pairings. The punches used were 1 3/4" scallop, 1 1/4" scallop and Itty Bitty Butterfly...all from SU. My thanks to LeAnne Pugliese for the inspiration and posting the link to the challenge Case This Sketch and to Anna Lou for ordering the cards!

Angry Bird

This is a CASE of one done by Janice Jones. It was made for my friend to give to her great-grandson who loves video games. The inside says, "Look who's turning 10" from the Number of Years SU stamp set.

Color Purple

Our card club met yesterday and these were the cards we made. The first one is Pool Party but not sure what the pink is. The second one could be Gumball Green? No one knew what the purple was named.

Another Challenge!

I had made this card and posted earlier BUT today I saw two challenges so I added metal dots to it, which changed it up, don't you think?

The metal dots were from a top that I loved but the washing machine was disintegrating and the metal shards from the agitator cut up the material. Trust me, I was agitated! In any event, the challenges I entered were on Splitcoaststampers WT580 and http://52cct.blogspot.com/2016/04/april-stash-challenge.html

Homeless Vets

Today I made a card for a two-fold purpose.

The first reason was for Cards for a Cause. This month's mission is to make and donate cards for health care staff to give to their clients, who are homeless vets. My husband is a Viet Nam war vet and now has cancer caused by Agent Orange. This mission is near and dear to my heart. It's one thing to not have your health, but it's a totally different arena when you don't have a house.

The second reason was the inspiration for this card. Match the Sketch Challenge

The card base is Basic Gray, the designer series paper is from "Walk in the Park" and is retired, the vertical banner is Basic Black, the horizontal banner is Silver Glimmer paper and the sand dollar is stamped in Basic Black on Basic Gray and fussy cut. That stamp set is "By the Seashore" and is retired. The circle was cut out of the DSP using the 2 1/2" circle punch, which is retiring and will no longer be available May 31, 2016. The sentiment is from Perfectly Penned, which is also retired. All products are Stampin' Up. I can say, "I am retired too!" Thanks for looking!

My First Challenge

I decided today that I would enter a challenge...my first! Here's hoping I can figure out how to do it correctly.
http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/2016/04/pp292-sketch-challenge-from-claire.html

The colors for the layers are Night of Navy, Lost Lagoon, Awesomely Artistic DSP and the crab is Marina Mist on Whisper White. The crab has text on it so I will enter it in a second challenge (hopefully). It is sponged with Pacific Point. The baker's twine is Bermuda Bay. I'm not sure what color the enamel dot is...all I know is I don't really have the blues! Thanks for looking!

I made these next two cards for two siblings who have Cystic Fibrosis. They were wanting pen pals so I have decided to be the one! They will have a month to guess who their "secret" pen pal is. They are pretty smart kids so it will probably only take them a week! We are at opposite ends of the east coast but they are near and dear to my heart. I have been friends with their grandmother for 47 years. Hazel loves owls and Edgar hopefully likes to fish.

Owls

Yesterday our card group met at a beautiful home on the Caloosahatchee River. It was difficult not to be looking out the sliding glass doors at the river rather than making cards! But, we accomplished five and here they are. Why didn't I take a photo of our view???

This couple looks like they're still on their honeymoon!

Could this guy be their offspring?

We also made another birthday card involving balloons.

A get well card...

and last but not least, Christmas in April!!

Dottie knows how to do a light lunch...shrimp cocktail, croissants, watermelon and Feta orzo salad with lemon-shallot vinaigrette. Dessert was strawberry-lemon shortbread bars!! It was a fun day, as usual.

Fore!

I made this card for a woman in our stamping group who loves to golf. The ink colors are SU Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow and Mint Macaron. I used SU Perfectly Penned for the sentiment and Fabulous Florets for the leaves. The technique was painter's tape. I used SU Curvy Trio punch for the bottom corner.

For the golf ball I used a Sissix circle framelit and a Darice swiss dot embossing folder. The tee was fussy cut from a photo. The grass is from SU Sheltering Tree. The sentiment is from Hampton Art and is punched out with SU Decorative Label. The cardstock is a close-out from Office Max. I happen to like the Calloway vineyard in California and the Calloway Corvette so I had to put that on the golf ball. Wonder if she owns Calloway clubs? I'll find out tomorrow!

Mother and Daughter

This is another 3 fold card that I made for my friend. She wanted to send a mother's day card to her daughter. I hope this is what she had in mind! She will write her own sentiment on the blank inside. I loved the poem!
I embossed the flap with a Darice embossing folder. The blue cardstock is a close-out from Office Max, as is the pink cardstock. The DSP is from SU. The ink is Lost Lagoon.

SU Retired Colors

These cards were inspired by Tracy Jacobs on my Paper Pumpkin Facebook Group. The colors, Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow and Tangelo Twist (which I didn't use) are retiring as of May 31.

Frogs and Pianos

These cards were fun to make! I stamped a goose on the envelope.

This card was made for my friend's granddaughter. She plays the piano, loves music and guess how old she is?

Safari

While we were at Disney we did our usual at Animal Kingdom...the safari. I think I got some good shots with my phone camera. We are home now, hubby is feeling better and I wanted to post these to bring back the memories of the one good day we had there.

The following pictures were taken from our balcony at Kidani Village.

We were not able to eat at our favorite restaurant, Sanaa, but hopefully we'll be able to return in May for the Flower and Garden Festival again. We have never stayed at The Grand Floridian, so that is on our bucket list.

Epcot Flower and Garden Festival

All the flowers at Epcot have given me inspiration to make more cards when we return home tomorrow. We had a great time celebrating my husband's birthday even though he became ill on his birthday. Our balcony at Kidani Village at the Animal Kingdom Lodge overlooked the Sunset Savannah. The animals are very entertaining. I will have more photos to share when we get back. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy these!
