Stampin' Up! Sunrise Sailing Birthday Card

Good mid-week morning, peeps! This is the first time I have used the Sunrise Sailing Hybrid Embossing Folder and Dies. I ran into a problem after I realized I should have ordered the stamp set to go with it, but I made do...take a look see...

 

 

I paper pieced the boat and added in the "ropes" because my boat was just plain white! The inside is snarky (at least I think so) so I'm going to submit it to the AAA Challenge #77...

Nautical Love

Happy mid-week peeps! My card today was a kit Deb provided for our Thursday group. She and her husband were boaters at one time and she made a similar card for her husband's birthday. The design is hers and the flags represent letters of the alphabet. She had all the pieces cut for us and all we had to do was adhere them and stamp "love" underneath.

Well, as you can see from the photo, I did not stamp "love". I really had stamped it but messed it up so badly that I removed the flags and embossed another piece of Basic White cardstock with the retired Seaside Embossing Folder. Sue M. had some spare silver letters in her stash, which she generously gave to me. I LOVE this card!

Stampin' Up! Waves of Inspiration Encouragement Card

Good morning! My card today is not only an inspirational card, it was inspired by my upline, Amy Koenders.  It's another card that I did kits for my ladies way over a week ago.

Like I did with an earlier card, I am including my instructions as I typed them up for the ladies.

Card Cuts:

•       Card base: 5 ½” x 8 ½”, scored and folded at 4 ¼”
•      Night of Navy mat: 3 1/8” x 4 ½”
•       Basic White inner liner: 4” x 5 ¼”; scrap for cutting out image panel       and sentiment
•      Waves of the Ocean DSP: 4 ¼” x 5 ½” panel; ¾” x 5 ¼” strip for inside
•     Blue Foils Specialty Paper: 1” x 5 ½” strip; scrap for birds
•        Vellum: 1 ¼” x 5 ½” strip

Tools: 

• Waves of Inspiration Stamps (wave);  (birds & sentiments)
• Waves Dies (birds)
•  Pacific Point & Night of Navy inks, 
• Checks Embossing Folder 
• Stitched Rectangles Dies
•  Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels
• Adhesives

Assembling:

Adhere the 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” panel of DSP to the front of the card base with liquid glue.

Adhere the 1-1/4” x 5-1/2” strip of Vellum to the card front with adhesive runner (put the adhesive at the bottom of the strip, not at top).

Emboss the 1” ‘x 5-1/2” panel of Blue Foils Specialty Paper with the Checks Embossing Folder. Adhere the foil to the card front with adhesive runner.

Stamp the wave image in Pacific Point ink on the scrap of Basic White. Stamp the bird images in Night of Navy ink above the wave.

Cut two Blue Foil birds.

Cut around the wave image with the third largest rectangle die from the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

Adhere the die cut rectangle to the Night of Navy panel.

Adhere layered panel to the card front

Stamp the sentiment in Pacific Point ink on a scrap of Basic White and cut it out with the smallest of the wide rectangle dies

Adhere the sentiment with Dimensionals to the card front.

Adhere the two foil birds to art panel.

Stamp sentiment on inside Basic White panel.

Glue strip at bottom and add embellishments.

Stampin' Up! Waves of the Ocean Happy Birthday Card

 TGIF, peeps! Are you going to the beach this weekend? Let me get you ready...

Well, you can't see too much of the waves on the front, but look at the inside!

Surf's up! This is another card we made during our Inkin' Krew Quarterly Meeting. Jillian Good did the presentation and did a marvelous job with no camera, only her phone! I went rogue with my card!!

On the front, we embossed a panel of Basic White with the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder. With Black Mini Dimensionals, I adhered three strips of Waves of the Ocean DSP to three strips of the Blue Foil Specialty Paper. They are adhered to the embossed panel with liquid glue and then the panel to the card base also with liquid glue.

I stamped the sentiment from the Happiest of Birthdays Stamp Set on Basic White in Misty Moonlight Ink and cut it out with a die from the Scalloped Contours Dies. That is adhered to the card front with liquid glue.

I used the wave and sentiment from the Waves of Inspiration Stamp Set to stamp on a panel of Basic White for the inside. I used Pacific Point ink, stamped off once. I cut it out with the largest scalloped die and adhered it to a mat of Pacific Point cardstock and that to the card base with liquid glue.

The embellishments I used on the front and on the inside are the Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels.

Stampin' Up! Friends are Like Seashells for the Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

My card base is Bermuda Bay that was embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder and here's our sketch...

I used Pearlescent Specialty Paper for my cut outs from the Seaside Seashells Dies, and sponged them with So Saffron Ink and Mint Macaron Ink. I adhered them to a panel of Simply Marbelous DSP. Then I stamped the sentiment from the Friends are Like Seashells Stamp Set in Bermuda Bay.

I used the Special Moments Stamp Set (free w/$50 order during SAB) on the inside...

and more of the die cut shells from the Seaside Seashells Dies. All the shells are embossed with the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder.

My colors were inspired by LeAnne's challenge at The Paper Players: PP578.

Stampin' Up! Sailing Home Encouragement Card

Happy Sunday to you! My card today was made for a 90 year old Navy Veteran who broke his hip and then contracted COVID during recovery. He and his wife will be celebrating their 69th wedding anniversary this coming week. I don't know him and he doesn't know me but it was a joy making the card for him. I became aware of his situation through one of my FB groups, of which I am a part. Take a look-see.

All product is Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted. My card base is Night of Navy. I stamped the anchor from the Sailing Home Stamp Set with Night of Navy (NON) ink on a panel of Basic White cardstock. The word "NAVY" was something I had in my stash that I purchased years ago. I stamped the sentiment from a Taylored Expressions "Of Thee I Sing" stamp set on scrap white and cut it out with one of the Tasteful Labels Dies. I cut another one out of NON, cut it in half and adhered it to the back of the sentiment. I adhered that to the card front with liquid glue. I still had some Sail Away Trinkets (retired) in my stash so I put a strand of NON/Sahara Sand Baker's Twine (retired) through the anchor and adhered it with glue dots.

For the inside, the first sentiment is from the Taylored Expressions stamp set, the second sentiment and lighthouse from the Sailing Home stamp set and the last sentiment from the Many Messages Stamp Set.

I hope the card will bring a smile to his face. From his picture on FB, he has a beautiful one in spite of what he is enduring.

Stampin' Up! Sailing Home Retirement Card

TGIF, peeps! Know someone who is retiring and loves boating? Then today's card is for you!

My card base is Thick Basic White with a mat of Night of Navy. I embossed the mat with the Seashells 3D EF. I had some scraps of the retired Come Sail Away DSP and Dollar Store Baker's Twine to use up so on the card they went! I used my Double Oval Punch for the mat and it's sentiment from the Sailing Home Stamp Set. I adhered them to each other and then to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The inside is a computer print out.

I used my Scalloped Contours Dies to cut it out, along with the frame.

Stampin' Up! Sailing Home and High Tide Birthday Card

I used product from the Come Sail Away Suite and the High Tide Stamp Set to create a masculine birthday card for you today. 

I was inspired by a card I had printed out awhile ago. I changed the papers and ink colors but wish I could give credit to the designer of the "bridge fold".

Measurements will be listed at the bottom of my post.

I stamped the lighthouse in Pacific Point ink and colored it with my Light and Dark Smoky Slate Blends. I colored the grass with my Light Old Olive Blends. The sailboats are stamped in Gray Granite Ink and colored with Light and Dark Crumb Cake Blends. I cut them out with the matching dies. I cut off the water that was underneath the boats as I didn't like how they looked on the water that I created with a stamp from High Tide using Balmy Blue ink. I sponged the sky in Seaside Spray. I was really pleased with the sky! The birds from Sailing Home are stamped in Gray Granite. I cut half a sun out of a scrap of So Saffron and adhered it to the edge to give the appearance of motion. 

The piece across the bottom is another scrap of Tranquil Textures DSP (retired) that I ran through my embossing machine with the Subtles 3D EF. I adhered that to a strip of Night of Navy and ran a piece of the twine from the suite through an anchor, also from the suite and taped the ends to the back of the strip.

Next I adhered all my cut pieces to the card front. I love a bridge card fold and for this one, I put the sentiment on the back side. It comes from the So Sentimental Stamp Set and it's stamped in Night of Navy. I think it's adhered a little crookedy but the recipient is very forgiving! The stamp may even be crooked even though I used my Stamp-a-ma jig (retired).

Stampin' Up! Come Sail Away Masculine Happy Birthday

It should be Monday again because my card is a makeover mistake. However, I'll just chalk it up as a Terrible Tuesday! Let's get right down to the nitty gritty, shall we?

Back on March 31 I posted this card and on March 15, this one based on Sharon Armstrong's Fun Fold.

Here's the rub...I forgot that I was supposed to mount the fold on a flat piece of card stock, not on an already folded card base! Here are a couple more views...

Fortunately, I had just the right sentiments for smooth sailing! This card is a hefty one and will undoubtedly be hand delivered when we can be closer than 6 feet and out and about in non-essential places.

Stampin' Up! Sailing Home

Good Sunday morning. I'm blessed that my church (New Hope Presbyterian) is doing the sermon and Sunday School class on line so I can attend in my pj's! How are y'all faring out there in lock-down land? Well, I hope. 

My  friend is doing a weekly video, from her home, of an encouraging, uplifting teaching. Today's lesson was about Jesus being the anchor of our soul. If you'd like to watch, just click on this link. Two weeks ago she had no idea how to use FB or You Tube! Today is also her birthday and I sent her this card.

Using product from the Come Sail Away Suite Bundle,the Ornate Garden Suite Early Release and the Stitched So Sweetly Dies, I made another card for her. She keeps my cards on display in her kitchen/dining area. There is so much to love about her! Let me show you the happy mail she'll be receiving...

As soon as I watched her video, this idea popped into my head. My design was inspired by the Global Design Project Challenge #GDP234.

I am hoping she doesn't look at my blog because it won't get there until Tuesday!
