Welcome to our monthly hop. Our theme for this month is Celebrate Spring and here is what I created for it...
I miss seeing the hydrangeas in North Carolina when my son and I used to go in the spring. I also miss my son. Since I know what it's like to lose a child, I made this card for a friend who lost a child this spring (although technically it's still winter, but not in Florida!). I think it's a comforting card and I hope you agree.
Let's take a closer look, shall we?
- Balmy Blue
- Mint Macaron
- Pool Party
- Smoky Slate
My card stock and Designer Series Paper:
- Basic White: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
- By the Bay: 1 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Tools and Embellisments:
- Harvest Dies (sentiment)
- Hydrangea Dies (flower bloom and leaves)
- Basic Borders Dies (cloud-looking edge)
- Pastel Pearls
- Stampin' Dimensionals and liquid glue
The stamp sets I used are:
- Apple Harvest for the patterned design
- Hydrangea Haven for the "watercolored look" block design and flower image
- Nature's Harvest for the outer sentiment
- Peaceful Moments for the inner sentiment

Such a beautiful card, Karen. Love the soft colors!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Karen :) Love that die cut border you used and everything else about it.
ReplyDeletebeautiful card! TFS
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful card, Karen! Nothing pleases my eyes more than pastel blues and greens together. I don't have the hydrangea bundle - and I don't know why because this flower is so pretty! Hydrangeas here in the north are the white ones but I remember my dad's beautiful pink and blue ones. Such sweet memories! Hope you have a wonderful rest of your week.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, Karen. It is a comforting card with the serene colors but the hydrangea shows spring too. I’m sure it will bring comfort to your friend. TFS
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Karen! Love the soft colors for spring, perfect with the hydrangea image! :)
ReplyDeleteNo one knows the anguish brought by the loss of a child except those of us who have experienced it. Your card is perfect! The soft colors are calming and will hopefully will bring a little peace to her spirit.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! My fave flowers!! It's a sad thing to need a card for - and I am sad that YOU also have experienced that loss. I do know that your friend will get.a smile - and a moment of relief - when she receives your card. :)
