Stampin' Up! Hand-Penned Petals Mother's Day Card

TGIF peeps! Yesterday we had our weekly card group gathering. Meg put together a card kit for us and I just loved it because I didn't order the bundle!

We CASEd a thank you card by Beth Rush. Here's how mine turned out...

The card base is Mint Macaron. I stamped the flower image from Hand-Penned Petals in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I colored the flowers and leaves with my Pale Papaya and Mint Macaron Light and Dark Stampin' Blends. Then I cut the image out with the Penned Flowers Dies. The flowery mat and polka dot mat are from the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper. (Meg spoiled us by having all the card cuts ready for us. All we had to do was stamp the flower image and  cut it out with the die and color the flowers.)

Next I wrapped a piece of Pale Papaya 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon around the pre-cut-for-us polka dot piece and tied a bow. Then I adhered that to the flowery mat.

The flower image is adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. The sentiment is from an old Paper Pumpkin kit, is also adhered with Dimensionals and stamped with Soft Succulent ink. I used the Everyday Label Punch to cut it. I did the sentiment when I returned home as I needed another Mother's Day card.

I have misplaced my Genial Gems that go with the Hand-Penned Suite so I used three of the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels (Soft Succulent) for the flower centers.

The inside...

The sentiment is from the Color and Contour Stamp Set.

I'm thinking I need this bundle and the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper. However, I promised myself NO MORE DSP!! I know won't be sticking to it but it sounds good on paper!!! I do have the Genial Gems, however...somewhere!

I'm entering my card in the Inspired By Challenge IB173: Celebrate Her (inspired by flowers and Mother's Day theme ... not sure about the sketch!) and  Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper May 2021.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a great weekend planned.

  4. Hi Karen! I'm so pleased to see you in our IB gallery! Hope you come back soon! Your card is fabulous - I love this set of flowers and have drooled over them at our mutual friend LeAnne's!
You've chosen the most wonderful peachy-papaya color, and even the blue-greens from our photo - well done!
Thanks again for playing along! [don't worry one bit about the Sketch being incorporated - it is not necessary!]
