My card today is a gate fold with a belly band using the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper, which is retiring June 2. I had stamped the squirrel image and raccoon image from the Special Someone Stamp Set and cut them out many times before we left on vacation. I had also punched the sentiment with the Classic Label Punch.
I don't know why I don't do this fold more often as it is sooooo easy. I took a piece of Thick Whisper White card stock cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 2 1/8" and 6 3/8" on the short side, folded and burnished. Then I cut my Basic Black mats 2" x 5 3/8" and my DSP at 1 7/8" x 5 1/4". My belly band was just a strip that was long enough to wrap around the card. The seam is covered by the squirrel. I adhered the sentiment with Dimensionals.
Don't you just love those flowers? Good, me too so I'm entering my card at Moving Along with the Times: Challenge #118 Flowers. Because I have a critter on the belly band, I'm also entering my card at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies #38 for the second time this month.
For the inside, I kept it very simple and stamped right on the card base with stamps from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set...more critters!
and the opportunity to play at The Sisterhood of Crafters Birds, Bees, Butterflies. I colored the critters with my Old Olive and Flirty Flamingo Watercolor Pencils and used my Blender Pen to blend.
Thank you for stopping by today.
