Stampin' Up! Floral Essence Birthday Card

Happy Mother's Day, peeps! I'm celebrating mine by going to our favorite vineyard in Young Harris, GA. It's supposed to be in the 60's so I'm hoping I get a spot to sit in the sunshine and that everyone will still practice social distancing. What are your plans?

I used the pretty Floral Essence Stamp Set Bundle and Itty Bitty Birthdays Stamp Set to create my card to share with you today. My inspiration came from Amy Koenders. You can see her card here. She even has a video that shows how she made hers. I don't do videos so you'll have to settle for the written word!

My card base is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of wood grain Designer Series Paper from the retiring Pressed Petals and adhered it to the front of my card base with liquid glue.

Then I cut a piece of striped Designer Series Paper from the retiring Magnolia Lane. I didn't bring my cutting machine nor my markers so I did a free-hand dot/dash with my Early Espresso Watercolor Pencil. Remember, my motto this month is "necessity is the mother of invention"! I adhered that to the base with liquid glue.

So, Amy had created her card just before I left on vacation and I knew I wanted to CASE it. Thus, I packed my Blends, punches, paper and embellishments.

However, I forgot to pack my Petal Pink ink pad and Crumb Cake ink pad. I only brought my Early Espresso and Terracotta Tile ink pads. I wanted to stamp the flowers in Crumb Cake! So, using 3rd generation stamping I sort of came up with the desired effect and stamped two on a scrap of Whisper White Card Stock. I used my Light and Dark Petal Pink Blends to color the flowers and punched them out with the Perennial Flower Punch. I gave the petals a little lift with my Bone Folder and adhered them together with a glue dot. I adhered the flower to the front with a Dimensional. Then I stuck a Perennial Essence Floral Center in the center! I love these centers and I'm sad to see them retiring.

My leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzazz on scrap Whisper White. I used the Leaf Punch, which has been discontinued, to punch out three and adhered them underneath the flower with glue dots.

The sentiment from Floral Essence Stamp Set is stamped on a scrap of Whisper White in full-strength Early Espresso ink. It's punched out with the Story Label Punch and sponged with Early Espresso. I adhered it with Dimensionals. Then I made a Billie Bow, a/k/a Mary D. bow, out of Linen Thread and attached it with a glue dot.

To finish off the front, I added three Champagne Basic Jewels.

For the inside...

On a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White, I stamped the sentiments from Itty Bitty Birthdays in Early Espresso. Since I didn't have my Petal Pink ink pad, I used my Terracotta Tile ink pad and did second and third generation stamping of the flower from Floral Essence. I colored the center with my Light Pineapple Punch Stampin' Blends. I punched two of the corners with my Detailed Trio Punch and adhered it to the base with liquid glue.

I'm playing today at C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #555 their 11th birthday celebration. I'm also playing in the Flower Challenge 118 at Moving Along with the Times.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope your weekend has been a pleasant one. See you tomorrow for another Share Sunshine Digital COVID card.
