Stampin' Up! Magnolia Lane Birthday Card

The Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper is on sale right now. It is one of my favorite papers so I wanted to highlight it using Crafty Al's SheetLoad of cards design for May. Have you seen her monthly series? Here's a link for you. My card base is Petal Pink and my mat is Mossy Meadow. Without further ado...

I won't go into the instructions and measurements as Alicia does that in a video here. She has instructions for one card or 12!

With the supplies I brought with me to NC, I used a pearlized doily, a double Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine bow, and a stamp from the February 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit, Lovely Day. I stamped it in Pear Pizzazz on a scrap of DSP that I punched with a 1" circle punch. I added three Rhinestone Basic Jewels to finish it off.

For the inside, I had a bit of a problem!

I had stamped "Happy Day" and "Let's Celebrate You" in Pear Pizzazz. However, the two did not agree on the shade of ink...it was REALLY off and I won't tell you what it reminded me of but suffice it to say, it was NOT pretty!

So, I just happened to have a piece of Mossy Meadow Card Stock that I punched with the Story Label Punch and adhered it with liquid glue. Necessity is the mother of invention, right? So come on in again Lovely Day PP Kit! There are copper foam words, which saved the day and another stamp from that kit. I made sure the ink was not "off"...or "awful"...LOL. Part of the pad must have been contaminated during my last class.

I punched the corners with my Detailed Trio Punch and called it a day.

With the copper inside and the two circles outside, one of them having stripes, and the green mat, I think I'll play at Festive Friday Challenge #FF0058.

Just Us Girl's #535 Trend Week challenge is "mini". I would say my sentiment is about a mini as I can get.

Thank you for visiting today and I hope I'll see you tomorrow.
