Stampin' Up! To a Wild Rose Birthday Card for the Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome fellow stampers to our weekly hop. Today we have a color challenge.

You would think it would have been extremely easy for me, but it wasn't. First of all, I made my card with Gray Granite. Whoops! However, I persevered and made another with Smoky Slate and this is what I came up with...

Thank you Jackie Bolhuis for your inspiration! As you can see, the color of my choice is Seaside Spray. Card cuts and supplies are listed after my team mates' links to their projects. I do hope you have time to hop with us.

I adhered a mat of Smoky Slate to my Seaside Spray card base. I cut a piece of 2019-2021 In Color DSP and adhered it to a Whisper White mat. I put glue dots on the ends of the Seaside Spray Metallic and adhered the ends to the back of the mat. Then I stamped the leaves from the To A Wild Rose Stamp Set in Smoky Slate to the right of the ribbon.

Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the rose from that set in Seaside Spray and the outline in Smoky Slate on a scrap of Whisper White. This is a three step stamp and you have to have the stamps lined up just so. With that being successful, I cut out the rose with the matching die from the Wild Rose Dies set. I adhered that to the card front with Dimensionals. Because I used a die, I am entering my card in The Flower Challenge #39

The sentiment is from the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set and it's stamped in Seaside Spray ink.

I adhered three different sized Seaside Spray Faceted Dots. Then the art panel was adhered to the Smoky Slate mat.

For the inside, I kept it plain and simple using stamps from To A Wild Rose. I punched the corners with the Detailed Trio Punch.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and thank you for joining the hop. Clicking on the "next" button will take you to Eva Dobilas. Clicking on the names below will take you directly to the other team members and their projects.

  1. Very pretty Karen! Love this design! I actually almost used Gray Granite by mistake on my card too. Yikes! Glad that we both caught it and fixed it. :)
