Stampin' Up! Sailing Home Sympathy Card

Hi there!

Here's the second of the sympathy cards I was asked to make for the sons' father...

As I mentioned yesterday, the father was in the Navy. I have Navy themed dies but I haven't found them yet in my craft room! So, this was the closest I could come to it.

My inspiration came from Marcia's Crafts You Tube video.

Measurements and product used are listed at the end of this post.

My card base is Night of Navy. The Sahara Sand mat is embossed with the Subtle 3D EF.

The art panel is Thick Whisper White on which I sponged the cloudy sky using Balmy Blue ink and an acetate template I made. The water is stamped in Seaside Spray and it's from the High Tide Stamp Set. The birds, sailboat and anchor are stamped in Night of Navy and are from the Sailing Home Stamp Set. I cut the sailboat and anchor out with the Smooth Sailing Dies and adhered them with Dimensionals.

The baker's twine is wrapped around the Sahara Sand mat three times and secured on the back with tape. A short piece is threaded through the anchor.

The sentiment is from the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy on a hand cut banner. This stamp set is well over a year old (2016?) so I'm playing at Retro Rubber Challenge 123 Anything Goes!

The inside is printed from my computer and stamped with the smaller sailboat from the Sailing Home Stamp Set.

Thank you for stopping by today.
