Stampin' Up! Beautiful You Christmas Card

Not only is it a Makeover Monday but I have a new view today. I'll show you that later.

I used the Beautiful You Stamp Set to create my card for today. It's a CASE of Jennie Portonova's card. First my card...

and here is Jennie's that Carol Payne received as a swap at the November 2018 OnStage.

I was supposed to be there but those who follow me know why I wasn't able to attend. This November marks the first year of my husband's passing from this earthly life into his eternal life. Thus, I am not attending this year's OnStage but hope to make it in 2020!

My card base is Whisper White with a mat of Real Red. After I stamped my happy girl in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on a panel of Whisper White, then ran it through my Big Shot with the retired Softly Falling EF. I colored her dress and hat with my Light and Dark Red Blends. I outlined her hat and dress with the new Puff Paint. Unfortunately, something happened and the "puff" got flattened. I'm not sure if it was the use of alcohol inks because the red bled through as well. I let it dry naturally but maybe the key is to heat set it? and, of course, don't lay anything on top of it!

The Merry Christmas is a stick-on sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed my card and please come back tomorrow to catch the last of the One Sheet Wonders.

So here's my view today and what it was like going through Atlanta to get here!

It took us 1/2 hr. to get through downtown, which is no surprise to those who travel through here often. I do love being on the river though. So far I've heard cardinals...a rarity in our community...peacocks and geese. The temp is 47 compared to the 90's we are used to. However, there are many, many spiders here and we are not used to that. Our Chester rode in his carrier for 10 hours with no complaints. It took us 1/2 hr. to get him into the carrier...kinda like going through Atlanta!

  1. Your river view is beautiful! I just heard about the horrors of Atlanta traffic recently! SO sorry you had to go through that! Anyway, we used to spray down our boat with lavender, it is supposed to repel spiders! You wouldn't think that there would be spiders out on the water on a sailboat, but we would unfurl the sail and they would drop on us like big bombs....ICK! Enjoy your time!

    1. Thank you, LeAnne. The spider bombing would have freaked me out. I'd still be screaming!

  3. Yep...the key with the puff paint is to heat it. Shake well, apply and heat set. Cute card anyway! Enjoy your time on the river...don't miss the Atlanta traffic one bit! :)
