Stampin' Up! Year of Cheer

Today has not been a good day in the realm of card making! First, the card I was going to make had the following problems: I had obviously misplaced the Quilt Top TIEF OR I had never checked my order to be sure I had received it OR I had given it to a customer by mistake. I had to start cleaning up my craft area and drawers to find it. My room was all cleaned up, TIEF not to be found. I then looked at my grid paper area, et voila! I had pulled it out of the drawer late last night and then went to bed. Lesson learned...DO NOT get my supplies out when I am not going to be working on a card!!

However, after the lost was found, I opened the package of DSP I was going to use only to find that the sheets were imperfect. I have another package so when I feel like hunting again, I'll find out if the card is truly doomed! I know Stampin' Up! will make good on the flawed paper even though I ordered it in June before I was a demonstrator!! They are good like that.

So, I couldn't waste the rest of the afternoon by not making a card. I made a celebratory one for my husband when we renew our wedding vows in 2019. It will be our 50th and we are hoping the chemo will pull him through til then and after! In 2013 they gave him 3 years with chemo and one without. I love that he has beaten the odds but I am hoping the good Lord will continue to help him beat them even longer. Without further ado...

Because I am imperfect, so is my card. My punched hexagon DSP piece is a little off, but it's consistently off. In my world, two negatives make a positive so for me it's good enough to enter a couple or three of challenges.

I thought of the Year of Cheer DSP because of Elizabeth Price's card on the #TGIFC140 December Designer's Delight
challenge. Please check out her card...she is one of the talented Design Team members.

My layout was inspired by Sketch 365 at MFT Card Challenges

and last but not least...As You See It - #166- Sparkle

I do hope you will take some time and visit these three sites. You won't be disappointed!

Thanks for looking! Remember, if you have questions, I'm only an email away!!

  2. Very pretty card, Karen - and perfect to celebrate your day today! I sure can relate to the craft area dilemma - mine looks like a tornado came thru, followed by an earthquake and a hurricane. I've got to spend some time cleaning.... :( Anyway - I'm praying for Perry to continue to prove the doctors wrong!! :)
