Today was a loooooong day! We started out for the oncologist's at 8 AM and did not get home from the treatment center until 1:30 PM. My hubby was hoping that they would say no more antibiotic IV's BUT the doctor said still more through Friday. He said Perry was even part of his two-week vacation as they were keeping him posted about what was happening! Now that's a doctor who cares and goes above and beyond! They are now investigating why that happened as there have been others who have had infected ports but not as bad. I'm glad they are looking into that because I was going to bring it up! That's the nurse in me. HOWEVER, I am now a card maker so let's get to it...thanks for indulging me with our medical life!
Here it is folks, in all its glory... the daisy!
I am hoping this qualifies for the challenge at Addicted to CAS #117 - One Layer Card. Y'all who look at my cards know that CAS is not easy for me! I used washi tape that our hostess provided, same with the sentiment, hand drew my stem and leaves, used Perfect Pearls for the flower center and finally, for all the daisy fans in my life, Daisy Delight! I used Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight inks to stamp the petals.
Thanks for looking!
Well- phooey! So sorry Perry's got another week of abx. That sort of sucks. But - sounds like your doc rocks! Nice to hear. I love your card, Karen - gorgeous CAS and single layer. Well done, indeed! :)
ReplyDeleteNot only does the doc rock, he is sooooo handsome! Thanks for commenting on my card, but I doubt that you get to see my reply. For some reason, it goes to my gmail account.
DeleteSuch a pretty card Karen! Love the way that you stamped your daisy. Sorry about the extra days of antibiotics, hopefully they'll figured out what the problem is with the port so that it doesn't happen again!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Amy. I know you are a busy lady so I appreciate your comments.
DeleteWish you all the best with your treatment. Terrific card here. Thanks for sharing at ATCAS!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susan. I'm so happy it meets the ATCAS rules. Appreciate your comment!
DeleteBeautiful one layer card, Karen! I love your two-toned daisy and that your stem is hand drawn...very pretty indeed, and perfect for the challenge! Thanks so much for playing along with us this week at Addicted to CAS!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have such a caring Doctor! I hope the extra days of antibiotics work out well...wishing you all the best! Barb (fellow nurse) ~
