Stampin' Up! Beautiful Butterflies for the Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Thank you for stopping here from wherever you came!! We have a sketch challenge for you today and here is a thumbprint of what I created for our hop...

May be a graphic of text

Let's take a closer look...

Well, you know the why of my design, but do you know the why of my colors? Yes, they came from Jaydee at The Paper Players Challenge!

I'm also hoping CAS on Sunday: Challenge#304|Watercoloring will like that I chose to use watercolored butterflies and a watercolored sentiment panel.

My card base is Basic White 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". I embossed it with the 3D Fern EF. I also embossed the 5 1/4" x 2" piece of Beautiful Bokeh DSP (Daffodil Delight) with the Beautiful Butterflies Hybrid EF

I watercolored a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with a paint brush I had in my tool box. The inks I used were Balmy Blue, Bubble Bath and Lost Lagoon. These colors were used for the butterflies. I die cut them with a die from the Beautiful Butterflies Dies after I had stamped them (using the same color inks) with a stamp from the Beautiful Butterflies Photopolymer Stamp Set. I left a portion white  so I could watercolor it with another pastel color, Peach Pie.

Once it dried, I stamped the sentiment, using Fresh Freesia ink, with part of a stamp from the photopolymer Spring Corner Stamp Set. Then I punched it out with the Modern Oval Punch. I adhered it with Dimensionals. I also adhered the three butterflies with Dimensionals.

I decided to finish the inside for an Easter card to be sent to one of our church shutins.

I used the retired Easter Friends Stamp Set to stamp the chick in Daffodil Delight. The sentiment "Happy Easter, Happy Spring" comes from the retired Timeless Tulips Stamp Set.

Stampin' Up! Splendid Thoughts Celebration Card

Today I've used the Splendid Thoughts Stamp Set and Very Best Occasions Stamp Set to create my card for our Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop and for my third week as Guest Chick for the Krafty Chicks Challenge. It's a weekly challenge with this week's challenge being hosted by Diane and it's a CAS theme. I don't usually do CAS but I'm happy with this...

Here's the color challenge.

My card base is Merry Merlot cardstock. I took a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" Basic White cardstock, put Post It Note Tape on each side and sponged the "middle" from top to bottom with Merry Merlot, Calypso Coral and Blushing Bride inks. I removed the tape and stamped the "ginko" from the Splendid Thoughts in Mossy Meadow. The sentiment, also from Splendid Thoughts, is stamped in Mossy Meadow ink. I adhered the panel to the card front with liquid glue.

For the inside...

I sponged a 4 1/4" x 1/4" to match the front. The sentiment is from the Very Best Occasions Stamp Set, stamped in Mossy Meadow ink. The bee is from Splendid Thoughts, stamped in Basic Gray ink.

Clicking on the "next" button will take you to Karen K (a/k/a TOK-the other Karen!). Clicking on the names listed below will take you directly to team members and their projects.  I hope you enjoy all the creativity. (Note: There is a time difference between the two challenges. So, depending on what time you are visiting my blog, the HIT hop does not go live until 9 AM! The Chicks went live at 2 AM!! I hope you'll pay them a visit and enter a card.) Thank you for stopping by!

Stampin' Up! Nothing's Better Than...

TGIF, peeps! Whoa...the first weekend in November is rolling around. Here's how I feel about it...

I'm on my second cup, it's raining cats and dogs AND I am still getting ready for the Craft Fair tomorrow. I put too much on my plate for this week! So here is what tomorrow will bring...

I used the Nothing's Better Than Stamp Set for the sentiments and coffee cups/steam. For the coffee stains, I used the Timeless Textures Stamp Set (retired) and it always reminds me of Perry and our overnight stays at Moffitt for chemo. I will never part with it!

The colors I chose are Cinnamon Cider, Crumb Cake and Smoky Slate. The strip of Designer Series Paper is from the Heart & Home, which will be in the January-June 2022 mini catalog (available to customers 1/4/22).

I am so uncomfortable with CAS cards, but I wanted to make it for these three  challenges:

CAS Challenge #217 - Coffee

Alphabet Challenge Blog: P is for Patterned Paper

Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper November 2021

Thank you for stopping by today and we'll see what tomorrow brings!

Stampin' Up! Fern & Flora Friendship Card

Good Thursday morning, peeps. Today I am finally using items that are new but I haven't used AND I'm using some old. Take a look see...
