Good Sunday morning, peeps! Today's card was one we made in our Thursday card group. It uses all retired stamp sets and the twisted ribbon border technique. Our kits were provided by Dottie and she had done a ton of cutting! Take a look see...
Dottie had the shapes for the sentiment and mat already cut out so I don't know what dies were used. The ribbon is something she had in her stash. Dottie had also colored and fussy cut the little holly from the retired Time of Year stamp set. She used Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce Stamp N Write Markers.
For the inside...
the sentiment is from Timeless Tidings, holly from Time of Year and the DSP is the current Lights Aglow Specialty DSP and a retired pattern. She had cut all the mats and "ribbons" for five of us...what a gal!
Dottie learned to do it from Joyce Whitman who saw it on Pinterest by 2 Big Gals Crafting. There are a lot of videos out there showing you how to do this technique. I even did it back on August 12 and I show you how but it's with different measurements. Here are the measurements she gave us.
Basic White Thick Cardstock 5 1/2" x 6 3/4", scored and folded at 2 1/2"
Cherry Cobbler Cardstock 2 3/4" x 3 3/4"
Evening Evergreen Cardstock 2 3/8" x 5 3/8" and 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
Basic White Cardstock 2 3/4" x 3 3/4"; 2 1/8" x 5 1/4"; and 1 3/4" x 5 1/4" (make tick marks at 3/4" on both sides) (refer to my example here but Dottie's ribbons go the opposite way mine did)
Designer Series Paper 2 1/2" x 3/4" (8)
I'm entering my card in the jingle belles: Wrapping Up 2022! blog post.
Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you'll give this technique a try if you haven't already.
So pretty Karen! Love the ribbon look on the border, perfect way to use up your designer paper scraps! :)
