Stampin' Up! Paradise Palms Retirement Card

I used the Stampin’ Up! Paradise Palms Stamp Set Bundle from the upcoming January-June 2022 Mini Catalog to create a retirement card to share with you today.

My card base is Night of Navy cardstock, 4 1/4" x 11", scored and folded at 5 1/2". I cut a piece of white cardstock and stamped the sentiment from the Paradise Palms Stamp Set in Night of Navy ink. I ran it through my embossing machine using the upcoming Hive 3D Embossing Folder. I adhered it to the card base with liquid glue.

Next I cut a piece of the Abstract Beauty 4″ x 6″ Specialty DSP (available Jan 4). It measures 4" x 2". I adhered that to the front with liquid glue.
Then out of Night of Navy cardstock I cut a single palm tree from the upcoming Palm Dies. I adhered the trunk with liquid glue and the fronds with Dimensionals that I cut up real tiny!

At the base of the trunk, I placed 5 of the upcoming Pebbles Enamel Shapes, hoping to create the look of a cobblestone path.

For the inside...

I stamped another sentiment and image from the Paradise Palms Stamp Set. The sentiment is stamped with Night of Navy Ink. The palms are colored with my Mossy Meadow and Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Markers. The white cardstock is cut at 4" x 5 1/4".

I'm entering my card at NBUS Challenge #34 (Never-Before-Used-Schtuff) as this is the first time I have used the stamps and dies. Because of the patterned paper I'm entering Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper January 2022 Challenge. I'm also playing at Alphabet Challenge "T" is for trees.

Thank you for stopping by today. Are you having people in for New Year's Day or are you going out? I've invited a couple in to have my traditional beef fondue with mushroom sauce, curry sauce, spinach salad and garlic toast. Whatever you're doing, enjoy!

"Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?"

  5. Ah, we all dream of retirement on a sandy beach (or island!) somewhere, don't we?! What a perfect card for that, Karen! I love the inside sediment, too. It's just great to be retired, wherever one is! Thank you for inspiring everyone at NBUS! Hugs, Darnell
