Welcome to another monthly Inkin' Krew Blog Hop. The theme for November is "Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays" and we can interpret that any way that we'd like.
I had my card made for this hop awhile ago but discovered I had posted it by mistake on the 2nd! So, I went back to the drawing board and decided to make a gift card holder. I wanted to use my new Nature's Beauty Stamp Set and Dawn Griffith had the perfect design for what I wanted. Isn't this the cutest deer?
My card base is Whisper White 4 1/4" x 11", scored and folded at 5 1/2". Score the front of the card at 2 3/4" and do a mountain fold.
Cut 3 pieces of Designer Series Paper: 2 at 4" x 2 1/2" and one at 4" x 5 1/4". Adhere the bigger panel to the inside of the card and one of the smaller panels to the front fold.
Open the fold, use a 2" punch to create a tab.
Flip it over and adhere your second panel and punch again to remove part of the DSP for your tab. When you do it that way, it lines up perfectly for the open tab.
With your card open, put Tear & Tape on the left edge and bottom of the punched fold. Then fold it in and voila, you have just created the pocket for your gift card!
Cut two pieces of gold foil 2 1/2" x 3 1/4" and two pieces of Whisper White 2 1/4" x 3". Stamp the deer on one of the Whisper White pieces and adhere to one of the gold pieces. Put tape or glue on the left side of the art panel and adhere it to the card front.
Adhere the remaining gold and white panel together. (This is for writing a personal note.) Open the card front and line up the note panel, face down, with the one on the front. Put glue on the back of the note panel and bring up the inside back of the card pressing it down. Doing it this way assures that it is lined up.
We're almost done! I used my Layering Circle Dies to create the circle for my sentiment. I stamped the sentiment from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set on a 3" x 3" piece of Whisper White. I adhered it to a Gold Foil scalloped circle. It's stamped in Shaded Spruce but it's a beautiful touch if you use Gold Emboss Powder for that and the deer. I did that for next Tuesday's card.
