Stampin' Up! All Good Things Birthday Card

I bought the All Good Things Stamp Set awhile ago to make a card for a childhood friend who has a koi pond. I did not achieve the look I was going for but I like it anyway! I think this is only the second time I have used the stamps and, of course, the set retired in May.

I should have left a little more white on the art panel so the Pumpkin Pie, Terracotta Tile, Mango Melody koi showed up better. The photo looks like it is a black koi and I doubt they exist! I tried a new technique for me...watercolor smooshing with ink refills and acetate. I don't think I'll do it again because I didn't feel like I had too much control over the ink. Next time I'll try it using individual blocks with lighter blues. I do like the blue colors I chose...Balmy Blue, Bermuda Bay and Blueberry Bushel.

The koi on the inside is strictly Pumpkin Pie. I forgot to take a picture of it until I was ready to put it in the envelope. My nickname is the one she gave me over 60 years ago. I don't think she reads my blog, but if she does, she'll know what her card looks like in case it gets lost in the mail...lol.

I'm playing today at Dragonfly Dreams Monthly Challenge - Happy Birthday. Thank you for stopping by today and if you have any questions, just leave a comment and I'll get back to you asap.
