Stampin' Up Sailing Home Birthday Card for Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Today our team has a sketch challenge and I have chosen to use the Sailing Home Stamp Set and Matching Dies for my card.  Here is what I created...

and here is the sketch we are using this week...

First of all, I apologize that my title doesn't fit the theme of my card. I had intended to make a birthday card but it ended up as an anniversary card. I didn't want the permalink to change because some of the team are their way to Roma, had already linked to it and it would have messed up the hop.

I started by cutting my Night of Navy panel with a die from Seasonal Layers Thinlits. I used my embossing body to rub over the top of it, which removes any oils from my fingers. I stamped the waves from the High Tide Stamp Set with Versa Mark Ink, sprinkled it with White Emboss Powder and heat set it.

I adhered a mat of Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper to the front of my Night of Navy card base. Then I adhered the waves to the bottom of it.

The sentiment from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set is stamped in Night of Navy on a scrap of Whisper White. I stamped the sailboat on another scrap with the same ink. I used  dies from Smooth Sailing to cut  out my sentiment and sailboat. I also used that same die set to cut out the Granny Apple Green seaweed pieces. I adhered my sailboat with dimensionals and used liquid glue for the other pieces.

For the inside, I used a sentiment from High Tide and one from Beautiful Bouquet. They are stamped in Granny Apple Green ink. The lighthouse from Sailing Home is stamped in Night of Navy.

  1. You have outdone yourself! This is very well done. Love your color choices and the use of the High Tide stamp set for some of the components. Great 'waves'! I wouldn't have thought of that. Very classy.
