Stampin' Up! Beauty Abounds for the Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Today we have a color challenge for our weekly blog hop.

The design of my card was inspired by Claire's sketch challenge at the Paper Players #439

and the theme I chose is "Wings" from the Make My Monday Challenge.

I started with a Whisper White card base and used my new Butterfly Beauty Dies to emboss the butterfly pattern. These dies are now called "Stampin' Cut & Emboss". The package contains 20 dies that cut or emboss. At the moment it can be purchased as a "Bundle" with the Beauty Abounds stamp set. I sponged the card front with Sahara Sand ink but wish I had only sponged the raised portion on the butterfly wings. It's already been sold so I guess I didn't need to fret too much. (It was prettier in person!)

I cut a piece of Highland Heather Gingham Gala DSP and adhered it to the card front.

Next, on a scrap of Whisper White, I stamped the flower image from the Beauty Abounds and colored the "ribbon" part with my Sahara Sand Stampin' Write Marker. The flowers and the leaves were colored with my Highland Heather and Old Olive Dark and Light Blends. I stamped the "bokeh dots" from that same set in Sahara Sand. I matted the art panel to a scrap of Pear Pizzazz and adhered it to the card front.

The scalloped circle and plain circle were cut from the Layering Circles Dies and adhered together. The butterfly is part of the big butterflies die which I had cut out of Whisper White. There are 5 butterflies attached together so it was easy to cut one off with my paper snips. I glued it to the circles with liquid glue but you could use a glue dot or mini dimensional.

For the inside, I cut a piece of the gingham DSP and adhered it with liquid glue.  Now here is where Connie Stewart would be proud of me...I took the stamp from All the Good Things and cut the sentiment away from the koi! I stamped it in Pear Pizzazz.

The "celebrate" sentiment on the front of my card and the "happy graduation" on the inside are from the Itty Bitty Greetings set and inked in Highland Heather. I sponged the edge of the scalloped circle with Sahara Sand and glued it to the DSP.

I also decorated the envelope with the gingham paper using the bigger pattern and stamped a butterfly on the front.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you enjoy the hop! Clicking on the "next" button will take you to Eva Dobilas. Clicking on the blue links will take you directly to that team member.

    1. Thank you, LeAnne. With the brown sponging on the butterflies, I thought it looked vintage or tea stained :-)
