Stampin' Up! Tea Together for the Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to our weekly blog hop. This week we have a color challenge and I hope you will be excited to see all the different cards that my team members and I have come up with (my apologies to the English majors for the dangling preposition!)

For my stamp set I chose to use the Tea Together set found in the 2019 Occasions Catalog. Here are colors which I think lend themselves to that set.

You do not want to know how long it took me to think this one through but I'll give you a hint. I spent all afternoon in the card room!

My card base is Lemon Lime Twist. I will be sorry to see this color retire, but Granny Apple Green is close! The mat is Daffodil Delight Gingham Gala DSP from the 2019 Occasions Catalog.

So, let's start with the tea cups. I used watercolor paper, an aqua painter and Grapefruit Grove ink.  First I stamped the outline with Grapefruit Grove ink. Then I water colored them by pressing the ink pad on a block and picking up the color with my aqua painter. Double D Watercolor Challenge is where I'm participating today.

I stamped one sentiment on the cup on the right side with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped the image again using a silicone mat and my Stamparatus and transferred it to the watercolor paper to create the mirror image. You can also use a window sheet if you don't have those items. I added a Lemon Lime Twist heart using the Dog Builder Punch. That is adhered with a glue dot. I fussy cut both cups even though I have dies to cut one of them out. The die set will be available to customers in the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog June 3, 2019.

I took a Pearlized Doily, cut it in half and adhered it to the card front using multipurpose liquid glue (Tombow). Then I adhered the cups with Mini Dimensionals. Since I like asymmetrical, I did not put them even with each other.

I love the sentiments from this set, especially the one that I stamped on Lemon Lime Twist, punched out with the Everyday Label Punch and adhered to the card front with Mini Dimensionals.

For the inside, I used a piece of Grapefruit Grove Gingham Gala DSP to break up the plain Daffodil Delight mat. Then I stamped the outline of the teapot in Daffodil Delight ink and the sentiment in Grapefruit Grove. Phew...finally fini!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed my tea party. Clicking on the "next" button will take you to Julie Johnston. Clicking on the blue links will take you directly to that team member.
