Stampin' Up! All the Good Things

My card today has two inspirational sources: The colors and design are from the nail salon I went to Monday; and the layout is from a sympathy card I received from one of my teammates. Thank you, SK!

The card base is Whisper White with an embossed mat of Copper Foil. The next mat is Bermuda Bay and a piece of Graceful Glass DSP matted on a piece of Whisper White. I used my Bermuda Bay Dark Blend for coloring.

I took a strand of copper thread, looped it around several times and placed it under the sentiment.  The sentiment is from All the Good Things, stamped in Bermuda Bay on a scrap of Whisper White and punched with the Triple Banner Punch.

The inside was matted with Bermuda Bay and Whisper White as I was writing a note to my friend, Cindy, who gave me a gift of a mani/pedi. That photo is not shown.

The military service at Sarasota National Cemetery yesterday was beautifully done. Our friend, Michelle, had arranged for a bagpiper to play Amazing Grace upon our arrival and on our departure. The flag unfolding and folding ceremony was very emotional and the flag was presented to our daughter who is our first-born. While they played taps we were both looking up at the sky to keep more tears from spilling over. Afterward we discussed the cloud formation we saw. We each saw the same thing...an eagle. Perry loved eagles and one is etched on his urn, along with the flag. It was surely a sign from God that Perry is with Jesus. Perry was truly a loved man and will be missed forever. Today our son, daughter, son-in-love and granddaughter will enjoy a boat ride with my brother and sister-in-love. We are blessed.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

  1. Oh my goodness....I was listening to some bagpipes just this morning, thinking about other services I've attended....they really stir something in one's soul, I think. So glad you have a good day for Perry's! And your card is beautiful. I have that vellum and forget to use it!

  4. Beautiful card, Karen! Love bagpipes. And, Amazing Grace was my husband's favorite hymn. Of course it was used for his funeral. Yes, Perry will be missed forever by those who knew and loved him. It is so comforting to know he is with his Lord.
