It's not what I had intended to do but when I saw Sunday Stamps SSC 181 Tropical Hues
sites this morning, I had to change course. I'm not sure if I left as much "white space" needed, but hopefully Jaydee and the rest of the Design Team will be forgiving! I did achieve the minimal layers and embellishments...let me tell you about it...
My card base is Basic Black, a mat of Granny Apple Green, and a piece of Whisper White for the art piece. I used only the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set to make my card. The inks I used are Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce. I LOVE these colors in case you haven't heard me say so! When I stamped the palm fronds in Shaded Spruce, I stamped off once. I sponged the white area with Granny Apple Green because it was just too bright for my taste. Jaydee and DT members...just pretend it's white...lol.
No matter what, this stamp set seems to be a permanent fixture on my desk. I need to make room for the other 69 sets in my current stash!
Thank you so much for stopping by. C ya!

DeleteKaren...Absolutely love your flamingo (and the sentiment too!)... a perfect bird for the challenge! I am not sure but I think this is a layered stamp, if not, your coloring is amazing! Great stamp. Thanks so much for joining us this week at The Paper Players!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Karen. What a wonderful comment and thanks for taking time to leave a comment. Yes, the stamp is a four-step stamp. I had to practice a lot to finally get it lined up.
DeleteSuch a lovely and stately flamingo - love the two-tone palm fronds to go with, as well - perfect for our colors! Thanks so much for playing at Sunday Stamps!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Heather. It was totally my pleasure to be able to play at SS.
DeleteI love flamingos and I love this card. I think the way you sponged some color in the background really makes the card.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much!
DeleteKaren, I like how you focused the flamingo by surrounding her with the palm fronds. Very pretty. Thanks for joining us at SUNDAY STAMPS.
