Stampin' Up! Hold on to Hope

Perry's sister is here for a few days and we are heading to Epcot for the Art Festival. We will be staying at the Beach and Yacht Club and that will be  a first for all of us. My sister-in-law is an artist but hasn't painted since she started working and I'm hoping that now she's retired that she'll get back into it. I'd really like her to start stamping but she doesn't appear to be  interested. Maybe I can change that while she's here!

In the meantime, I made this card for you...

Well, it's not REALLY for you, but you know what I mean. I don't know who it is for yet. It is a CASE of a card that our card group leader, Meg, made a few weeks ago. I wasn't able to attend as I was having vision problems and it was a night gathering. Here's her card...
Beautiful, isn't it?

Back to my card...I used Sweet Sugarplum for my card base, Old Olive for the mat and a panel of Petal Garden DSP. With the Cross of Hope Thinlits, I cut a solid cross in the DSP and adhered it to my Old Olive mat. I then cut a solid cross in Sweet Sugarplum and the filigree one in Champagne foil (which I think is a mixture of gold and silver). I adhered them together and laid them in the negative space. I made a bow of Sweet Sugarplum ribbon (retired) and placed it on the cross with a glue dot.

I used the Hold on to Hope stamp set, which is bundled with the Cross of Hope, to stamp the sentiment in Old Olive on Whisper White. I die cut it and its Sweet Sugarplum mat with the Layering Ovals Framelits. I adhered them together and did the "doo dads" around the edge free hand with my Sweet Sugarplum Stampin' Write Marker. I adhered it to the DSP panel with dimensionals. Then I adhered the card front to the base with liquid glue.

The inside is plain and simple using the same stamp set. "Hold on to Hope" is done in Old Olive, the flourish is Sweet Sugarplum. I sponged the same ink on the edges and the front to tone down the bright white, adhered it to an Old Olive mat and glued it to the card base.

I want to thank Dragonfly Dreams for allowing me to participate in their "Flowers" challenge, along with Sunday Stamps SSC171 POPS OF PINK

I thank you all again for visiting my blog and hope you'll come back again soon.
