Stampin' Up! Heart Happiness

Happy Groundhog Day! I didn't make a card today for the Groundhog but here's to him...
Image may contain: ocean, sky, outdoor, text, nature and water

I did make a card for you to view, however...

Yay...I used up another piece of DSP! It's a retired one from a pack called "Love Blossoms." It fits perfectly in the CFC #192 challenge
as well as Just Add Ink #394..."Romance" challenge.

My layout was inspired by the FUSION - Stained Glass Hearts challenge.

I checked out some stained glass techniques at Splitcoaststampers and decided to try them for two of the hearts. One was done on vellum and one on acetate. I scrapped the acetate one because it melted! The top heart is the vellum one and I love the way it turned out. I inked up the heart with Versamark, stamped the vellum and sprinkled red glitter on it, heated it and cut it out. All three hearts are from the Heart Happiness stamp set and are cut out with the matching dies, Sweet & Sassy. The second heart was stamped on Whisper White card stock with Versamark Ink, sprinkled with red glitter and heat embossed. The striped heart was stamped in Real Red on Glossy Cardstock.

I used two of the dies from the Petal Palette Bundle for my sentiment and its "mat". Love those dies too! The sentiment is from Party Pandas, which is exclusive to the Sale-A-Bration promotion. I stamped it twice in Real Red and added an Enamel Shaped Real Red heart and adhered it with dimensionals.

For the inside, I used the cluster of hearts from Heart Happiness and the large heart and sentiment are from Bloomin' Love. For the clusters, I used Rose Red ink and stamped off once for each set except one, which was full strength to add a little contrast. The sentiment and flowery heart are stamped in Real Red. I mounted the Whisper White mat onto a panel of Real Red and adhered it to the card base.

I think I'll give this to my husband for Valentine's Day. He got his first one from me 49 years ago when he was serving in Viet Nam. We started out being pen pals and the rest is history.

Thank you for joining me today.
