Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree

I've created a non-traditional Christmas card for challenges at Cardz4Guyz - #182 Oh Christmas Tree and Deep Ocean Challenge Blog #167 Inspired by a Song/Movie

My husband really liked this card so I figured it would be great for a guy. The ribbon is not too froufrou (I don't hear that word much anymore!), the colors are not too feminine and the trees are just that...trees...with the exception of the Christmas Tree in the foreground, waiting for the right man to chop it down and take home to his family for decorating! The stamp set is Lovely as a Tree.

The sentiment "The Most wonderful time of the year" is one of our favorite songs by Andy Williams and Johnny Mathis. I think Johnny's version was in the movie Jingle All the Way.

I used Night of Navy, Bermuda Bay and Lost Lagoon (retired) inks, along with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I made a mask for the moon and sponged the sky. I made a mask for the snow mounds, sponged, stamped the trees, added shadows with Lost Lagoon ink and ran some Wink of Stella over the mounds. My card base is Island Indigo and the ribbon is Island Indigo Ombre.

The sentiment is from Brightly Lit Christmas.

If you have questions about the masks and sponging, I'd be happy to answer them when we return from Disney over the weekend.

If you like the products I used, they are listed below. If you don't have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I would be honored to help you...just say the word!!

Thanks for looking!!
