Stampin' Up! Layering Ovals

and

are my challenges for this card...

This is our grandson as Curly in Oklahoma. This was his last play at home before he took the train to go to college in Manhattan a few months ago. He is majoring in theater at Marymount. He called me for my birthday and told me he was hoping he would be picked for Ensemble, which would be doing Merrily We Roll Along. He said they rarely pick freshmen for that group. I told him if it was meant to be, it would be...it was meant to be!!!! So, I made this card to congratulate him.  He is quite the actor and has quite the personality. I can feel it in my bones...he is destined to be a star! But, that's just Nana talk!!

Back to the card at hand...from the JUGS challenge, you can see why I chose the colors and from the SS challenge, it is obvious where my layout came from. This is a one-of-a-kind card that I enjoy creating. (I can do it for you too...just leave me a comment and I'll contact you by emai).

The measurements and products I used are listed below.

My card base is Tempting Turquoise. The brown strip is from Wood Textures DSP Stack. I used the Layering Ovals Framelits to cut my ovals. The star was cut from a retired SU die set. The sentiment is from the Colorful Seasons stamp set. It's a little wonky, but so are Nana and Sam! I hope he'll like it. He does make me smile!

Thanks for looking!!

Measurements:

Card base - 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
Strip - 5 1/2" x 1 1/2"
