Stampin' Up! Wild Ferns for the Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Thank you for stopping here from wherever you came!! We have a sketch challenge for you today and here is what I created for our hop...

Let's take a closer look, shall we?
I'm a little disappointed in how it turned out as my white Craft Ink was quite sticky and I never should have dragged it across the embossed card base. I didn't have any more of the Copper Clay cardstock left so it is what it is! I was also disappointed in how the embossing on Glimmer paper turned out. Apparently, my VersaMark was not sticky enough! But, at least you know it can be done. Sharon Armstrong proved that!

and the inside...

After I photoed it for the hop, I added a punch dog and heart from the retired  Dog Builder Punch.

Stampin' Up! Friends

Good morning, peeps! Yesterday marked two weeks that I've been without Chester. I thought I'd show you some of the cards I received from my stamping friends. Along with those, I took some pics of the moon rising last night. This is not a bad moon rising as in the song by Credence Clearwater Revival. (You're welcome for the earworm!) For some reason I always thought the song was called "There's a pale moon on the rise." Anyone else think that? But, I digress...take a look see at the thoughtful people in my life...

From left to right bottom - Mary Deatherage and Pamela Cook

2nd row - Debbie Mageed, Sue Morton, Deb Shapiro

top row - Rockie Wilkins, Rosie Kean

I appreciate y'all. The next pic is the box that Chester's ashes are in. It was a gift from the Crematory. They do that for every pet owner. Amazing!

Now, on the brighter and lighter side...

Moon peeking through tree line

Pale moon rising

Risen!

There is a lot to be said about a full moon! I just stood amazed and began to sing another song sung by Chris Tomlin!

Thank you for stopping by today and have a blessed weekend.

Stampin' Up! Happy Tails Dog Sympathy Card

Welcome to my Monday Makeover Madness card day. Yesterday I showed you the card I made for my family upon the passing of their cute little Jack Russell terrier mix. Nikki crossed over the rainbow bridge and that gave me the idea to get the bridge out from the retired My Meadow Stamp Set, along with the retired Happy Tails Stamp Set, coordinating retired Dog Builder Punch, and the retired Pampered Pets Stamp Set. I used the Into the Clouds Embossing Folder for my background. Other than that, the card is put together the same as yesterday's.

For the inside, the punched heart is from the Heart Punch Pack.

I hope I won't have to use this card for quite awhile and that I'll even get to sell it in our November Craft Fair.

Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge #2231 is an ATG so I will enter my card in her challenge.

I know you're not a dog, but I do have a treat for you...
Thank you for stopping by and please try not to have a Manic Monday...you're welcome for that earworm!

Stampin' Up! Pampered Pets Sympathy Card

Good morning, peeps! I lost my furry granddogter on July 4. She went to be with her brother, Rascal, and her kitty cousin, Tini...along with many other fur babies we've all had over the years.  I made this card for Nikki's parents. I drew my color inspiration from the Inkspirational Challenge #270 photo...

My card base is Gray Granite cardstock. I glued strips of Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper to a Very Vanilla cardstock mat reflecting the Rainbow Bridge without the bridge. I stamped Nikki in Basic Gray using the retired Pampered Pets stamp set and cut her out with a die from the retired Pets Dies. I colored her with Light and Dark Gray Granite Stampin' Blends. I cut a frame with the Stylish Shapes Dies and adhered her to the corner. Then I mounted the frame with adhesive strips. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. I also sponged the edges with Gray Granite ink.

I forgot to take a picture of the inside before I personalized it but it had 5 paw prints for the family with their names and a stamped sentiment from the retired Happy Tails stamp set.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you'll return for my Monday Makeover Madness tomorrow and help yourself to some M & M's.

Stampin' Up! Pampered Pets Sympathy Card

Good Sunday morning, peeps! I appreciate you stopping by today. I used the Pampered Pets Stamp Set, Window Flower Box Dies, Dog Builder Punch, New Horizons DSP and In Good Taste DSP to create my card today. My friends lost their Doberman this past week and he was only 10. He was a gentle giant.

My card base is Early Espresso Cardstock, with a panel of  New Horizons DSP. I punched the dog out of Early Espresso and adhered it to the front with liquid glue. I cut the windows out of In Good Taste DSP.  The sentiment is from the retired Nine Lives Stamp Set. I added three dots for the embellishments.

For the inside...

I used the Pampered Pets Stamp Set for the sentiment and image.

Stampin' Up! Pampered Pets Sympathy Card

My card today is inspired by Beth McCullough with an unusual mystery card. She gave her subscribers all the clues at once, for which I am thankful, because most of you know it's not easy to create a sympathy card for pet or human. I used the Pampered Pets Stamp Set, Playful Pets Designer Series Paper and Stitched Shapes Dies to create my card.

My card base is Basic Gray with a mat of Basic Black and Playful Pets DSP. I cut the two frames with the third and second largest square Stitched Shapes dies. I stamped the dog in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and the hearts in Real Red then I cut it out with the second largest square. I adhered everything to the card front with liquid glue.

I stamped the inside pup with Basic Gray ink and the sentiment in Real Red. I added a piece of DSP to the envelope flap and butterflies to the front.

I'm entering my card in the Crafty Animals Challenge #43, Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper October 2020 Challenge, and Scribbles Design Challenge - Feature a Creature.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you'll click on the link above to get Beth's instructions for the "unmystery"! While you're there if you would click on "like" for my card, I might get my name in lights for her "People's Choice Award"!

Stampin' Up! Happy Tails Sympathy

Can it really be the middle of the week already? Almost the middle of the month? Oi! I hope yours is going smoothly with no bumps, humps or lumps. It's not going that way for my niece who just lost one of her beloved dogs. It was cause to dust off the Happy Tails Stamp Set.

My inspiration for the design came from the SSC224 Tag You're It Challenge.

I used Crumb Cake for my card base. I cut a piece of Whisper White and matted a piece of retired Tranquil Textures DSP to it.

I cut a tag out of Whisper White using the Stitched Rectangle Dies. On a scrap of Whisper White, I stamped the pup in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with my Light and Dark Daffodil Delight Blends. I used the Color Lifter to create some pale spots. I used the paw and heart stamp to create a heart shape. The ink I used was Real Red and Early Espresso. The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso as well.

The pup was punched with the Dog Builder Punch and adhered with Dimensionals. I punched the hole with my Detailed Trio Punch and made the tag tie with Braided Linen Trim.

For the inside, I stamped another sentiment from the set using Crumb Cake. I left a lot of white space so I could write a note.

I am also entering my card in these challenges today:

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you'll be back tomorrow for our weekly blog hop.

Measurements:
  • Crumb Cake: 4-1/4″ x 11″ card base scored at 5-1/2″

  • Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper: 3-5/8″ x 4-7/8″ panel
  • Braided linen trim 6"

Stampin' Up! Happy Tails

Monday, Monday...can't trust that day...but you CAN trust me to be back with another Makeover Monday Madness card! Monday Monday was one of Perry's favorite songs by the Mama and the Papas. Today would have been his 76th birthday. My son and I will remember him by raising a pint at his favorite Irish Pub this afternoon. It's been 5 months since I lost half of me but it seems like yesterday some days. Creating cards certainly assuages the grief.

Shirley Gentry, one of my teammates, is being CASED today! Here's her card...

and here's how I made it over, a/k/a CASE'd ...

I flipped the sketch and created my own patterned paper for the middle section. The other pieces are from the retired Botanical Butterfly DSP. The dog is punched with the Dog Builder punch. (Dragonfly Dreams Challenge is to "Include an Animal".) I adhered him with Dimensionals to the diagonal striped piece hoping to reflect the sketch at Sunday Stamps SSC202 - By the Row.  I'm playing here for the second time.

I couldn't find anything in their rules that limited entering to only one time. I hope I'm right!

One of my classmates in Sunday School had to have her dog euthanized so I made the card for her. I've had to make too many sympathy cards this month, both for pets and humans.

For the inside, I stamped two sentiments from Happy Tails on a mat of Whisper White and rounded three of the corners with my Detailed Trio punch. On the remaining corner, I cut a heart out of a Real Red scrap using the Be Mine Stitched Framelits dies, stamped it with the paw print from Happy Tails and adhered it with a glue dot.

This was a quick and easy card to create and I thank Shirley for her inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Stampin' Up! Happy Tails

Today I did a triple time stamping card. I CASE'd Tami White's card and she has an excellent video on how to do this technique so I will just show you my card.

The pup reminds me of two of my friends' dogs. This is not my favorite technique as I don't think I do it quite right, but it is what it is. I just need to practice and use a different stamp set, I think.

I do love this stamp set, however. What's not to like about black and white with a little red thrown in. The pup is done in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla and punched with the Dog Builder punch that coordinates with the Happy Tails stamp set. It's perfect for the Inspire.Create.Stamping Challenges #39

The inside is plain and simple...

Hopefully, I won't have to use this card for a long time!

Thank you for stopping by.

Stampin' Up! Happy Tails Sympathy

It seems like lately so many of my friends are losing their pets. Here's a photo of Sasha dressed up for Halloween. She crossed the Rainbow Bridge February 1, 2019.
Image may contain: dog

I made my creation to send to her parents. Fur babies have a special place in our hearts, don't they?

My card was inspired by Christy Velasquez. You can see how the card is made here

Unfortunately I had already written on the inside, but I had stamped some sentiments from Happy Tails.

I love finding new challenges and I came across a monthly one at Ellibelle's. For her February challenge she chose the use of dies, punches or hearts and I used all three!

Thanks for stopping by. A partial list of product used follows.
