Stampin' Up! Vintage Tools Eclipse Birthday Card

Good Sunday morning, peeps! Hope you are having a great weekend. I did nothing but get caught up finishing unmade cards, watching some technique tutorials, playing a few games of National League Mahjong at ilovemahj.com, cooking and cleaning!

My card today is one I made for my friend to give to her husband on his 87th birthday. He was a brick layer so I used the retired Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder on a piece of Basic White. I sponged it with Copper Clay Ink and cut the letters out with the Large Letter dies (retired). I adhered it to a piece of retired Copper Foil.
Next I found some copperish glitter paper in my stash and cut the letters out again. I adhered them with foam adhesive strips. I haven't done the eclipse technique in awhile so maybe I'll be a trend setter and it'll come back into fashion!

For the inside...

I used the retired Vintage Tools Stamp Set for the images and one sentiment. I stamped the ball peen hammer in first and second generation Copper Clay Ink. I stamped the chisel in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored the handle with Crumb Cake Ink. The "Happy Birthday" is from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set.

The Diner en Blanc was a huge success for Amos' birthday and he loved his cards. Here's a pic of a few of the tables and guests and another of the birthday cake. It was awesome to see everyone in white from head to toe! The food was delish and I was eating rosemary mashed potatoes for a number of days....they were so good and we thought we were not going to have enough!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you'll be back tomorrow for another Pammie's Inky Pinkies challenge,

  1. What a fun card and what a cool idea for a dinner! I am interested in knowing what other dishes they served!

    1. Thank you, LeAnne. Although everything is supposed to be white with the exception of the meat (prime rib), other people made carrots, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, a cold smoked salmon platter and antipasta salad.
