Stampin' Up! Sweet Strawberry Friendship Card

Good mid-week peeps! Let's get right to it cuz y'all came to see a card, right?

...I know~there's so much blank space at the top! So unlike me!! It's because I'm entering it in the Paper Players PP546

Any of you who follow me know I do not do CAS! But, I really wanted to try my hand at it this time. Thank you, Joanne, for a true challenge!

I'm also entering my card in the Sunday Stamps Weekly Challenge SSC259 Sweet Summer TreatsMy colors are Pear Pizzazz, Evening Evergreen, Cherry Cobbler and my neutral is Early Espresso.

My card base is Pool Party with a mat of Evening Evergreen. I sponged a piece of Basic White with Pool Party ink and stamped the "Yummilcious" from the retired So Sentimental Stamp Set in Evening Evergreen.

Then I stamped the strawberry outline from the Sweet Strawberry Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler. I used sponge daubers to ink up the solid inset stamp with Cherry Cobbler on the top and Early Espresso on the bottom to give it the strawberry dipped-in-chocolate look! I stamped the hull in Pear Pizzazz and punched them both out with the Strawberry Builder Punch. I adhered the strawberry with Stampin' Dimensionals and the hull with liquid glue.

For the inside...

I am cleaning out my stash and this was a panel that my friend Carol had stamped years ago (minus the chocolate pieces image from Nothing's Better Than Stamp Set). I miss Carol so much. It's hard to believe it's been two years since she left us. I have so many of her things and they'll be coming up on my blog the rest of this month as I am cleaning out my craft space and using what she left me. The sentiment is a stamp from Inkadinkado and it went so well with the Sweet Strawberry and Nothing's Better Than stamp sets, don't you think? See the little spots of ink on the panel? That's melted chocolate!

I'm also playing today at The Sisterhood of Crafters: Anything Goes Challenge.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you'll be back tomorrow for our Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop. Have a blessed day!
