Stampin' Up! Sweet Strawberry Birthday for the Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop. This week we have a theme challenge. If this is your first time here, welcome! If not, welcome back!! Either way, you're in for a treat!!! Here's my card...

and here is the theme...

I decided to try my hand at what demonstrators call the "spanner panel" card. There are many videos out there. If you belong to Splitcoast Stampers, Wendy Lee has a tutorial there for your use. But in the meantime,  I have more shots of it. This one is with the card front flipped up.

So, in essence, what you do is measure in from the outside edge of your base at 1 1/4" and cut from the fold to the bottom edge. Do the same thing on the other side. You're left with a middle flap and two outside flaps. Easy peasy!

With that done, we'll work with the inside. Adhere your DSP (I used Brights-Poppy Parade) to the black mats and then adhere to the sides of the Basic White. Stamp the sentiment from Color & Contour in the center with Soft Succulent ink. Adhere that panel to the card base inside.

Now we'll go back to the front...well it's really the middle of the card! Dizzy yet??

Adhere the DSP to the Basic Black Mat. Adhere that to the middle flap. Stamp your sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Basic White. Punch your sentiment with the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch. Stamp two strawberries and their leaves on scrap Basic White and punch them out with the Strawberry Builder Punch. Adhere one strawberry/leaf and the sentiment to the middle flap.

Close the two end flaps. Place your window sheet "bridge" where you want it and adhere it to the inside of each end flap. Don't glue the middle! I placed mine so that it would center over my sentiment.

Adhere remaining DSP to remaining Basic Black mats and glue to each side flap.  I adhered my second strawberry/leaf to the right flap and window sheet with Stampin' Dimensionals. Add embellishments of your choosing. I chose three Matte Black Dots.

I found a new challenge Creative Creases Challenge #9. Thank you Debbie for creating a fun fold challenge!
