Stampin' Up! Timeless Tropical

Monday morning is usually a Makeover Monday for me but today it's also Mistake Monday! Let me 'splain Lucy...

My design inspiration came from Dawn Griffith's Triple Panel Stamping Technique and the colors from Just Add Ink's Challenge #499.

I used the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set to stamp the flowers in Highland Heather. I had watched Dawn's You Tube Video and thought I remembered everything. However, I stamped a "Hello" in the bottom right corner before I adhered the sentiment mat...a mistake that didn't matter much because it just changed my design a bit! I added some retired Blushing Bride hearts and a little linen thread bow.

The inside is where the BIG mistake occurred...

I had punched the corners of my mat, stamped it with the sentiment from the retired Sitting Here Stamp Set and adhered it to the base. Then I realized it looked too plain so I stamped the flower using a Post It Note to keep from getting ink on the base. I just shouldn't have cared because it was in the wrong place so I only got half a flower and an awkward one at that!  If I had had the stamp in my Stamparatus, I could have recovered from my faux pas. Can you think of any way to redeem it short of removing the mat and re-stamping?

I'm also playing today at Pammie's Inky Pinkies PIP Challenge 2014.

Thank you for stopping by today and may all your mistakes be redeemable.

  3. Your card is really pretty. Your "mistake" on the inside actually doesn't look bad.....with the corners punched out I thought it was supposed to be that way! We appreciate you joining our challenge at PIP Challenges this week!
