Monday, Monday...can't trust that day...but you CAN trust me to be back with another Makeover Monday Madness card! Monday Monday was one of Perry's favorite songs by the Mama and the Papas. Today would have been his 76th birthday. My son and I will remember him by raising a pint at his favorite Irish Pub this afternoon. It's been 5 months since I lost half of me but it seems like yesterday some days. Creating cards certainly assuages the grief.
Shirley Gentry, one of my teammates, is being CASED today! Here's her card...
and here's how I made it over, a/k/a CASE'd ...
I flipped the sketch and created my own patterned paper for the middle section. The other pieces are from the retired Botanical Butterfly DSP. The dog is punched with the Dog Builder punch. (Dragonfly Dreams Challenge is to "Include an Animal".) I adhered him with Dimensionals to the diagonal striped piece hoping to reflect the sketch at Sunday Stamps SSC202 - By the Row. I'm playing here for the second time.
I couldn't find anything in their rules that limited entering to only one time. I hope I'm right!
One of my classmates in Sunday School had to have her dog euthanized so I made the card for her. I've had to make too many sympathy cards this month, both for pets and humans.
For the inside, I stamped two sentiments from Happy Tails on a mat of Whisper White and rounded three of the corners with my Detailed Trio punch. On the remaining corner, I cut a heart out of a Real Red scrap using the Be Mine Stitched Framelits dies, stamped it with the paw print from Happy Tails and adhered it with a glue dot.
This was a quick and easy card to create and I thank Shirley for her inspiration.
Thanks for stopping by today.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Heather.
DeleteBless your heart that you send great cards to friends, especially when you so recently lost your other half. Those first everythings (birthday, anniversary, Christmas, etc) without them are really hard, but God Bless you, you seem to be handling it well. Enjoy your evening with your son and great memories.
ReplyDeleteThanks much, Julie. The Lord blessed us yesterday with having friends in all the right places at the right time. We ended up with a dead car battery after "celebrating" at the Irish Pub.
DeleteSweet card, so sorry that you needed to make one for your friend. Thanks for joining us at Sunday Stamps, hope to see you again soon!
