Stampin' Up! Animal Outing

Oh, peeps, I had sooooooo much fun with this card. I sent it to my daughter who loves giraffes and sloths. When she was little, I ordered a book about a giraffe for her. The author said the name of the giraffe would be personalized so I asked to have it named "Irrek". Kerri loved to read that book and she still has it!

Here's my card for you today...

The Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper has done most of the work...both on the outside and the inside!

My inspiration came from Jan Brown and Lynn Dunn. You can find both of them on You Tube.

I'm going to do something a little different today. I'm going to start with the inside of the card. You will need a piece of Whisper White card stock that is 5" x 8", scored and folded at 4". Adhere it to a card base that is 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored and folded at 4 1/4".

You will also need a piece of DSP 1 1/2" x 8 1/2". (Now, if you have chopped all your DSP into 6" x 6", you've got a problem...lol. (Those who participate in #loveitchopit, know exactly what I'm talking about!)

Take the DSP piece and score it at 2 1/8", 4 1/4", and 6 3/8". Fold the lines and burnish...do a valley fold, mountain fold, and valley fold. Put Tear and Tape on both ends of the DSP and adhere it to the inside.

I used more of the DSP to cut out my giraffes and frogs on branches with the Animal Friends Thinlits Dies. (On that paper, there are images that are mirror images ... you just have to look for them ... kind of like you are on a safari!) I adhered them to the 3D strip with glue dots and liquid glue. The sentiment is from the Animal Outing stamp set.

Because this is another kinetic card, I'm entering for the second time in 613 Avenue Create #219.

Now, let's look at the front again...

Cut one pattern of DSP 4" x 5 1/4" and a different one  4" x 2" and adhere them to the front of your card base. Make a bow and adhere it with a glue dot. I used Lemon Lime Twist Ombre. I used the Layering Oval Framelits Dies to cut a scalloped Granny Apple Green oval and a Whisper White plain oval. I stamped a sentiment from Colorful Seasons in Crumb Cake, which is the same color as the card base.

Did you see the little joey (a young kangaroo to the Aussies) peeking over the sentiment? He's saying "hello" to the Design Team at Just Add Ink Challenge #448 Just Add J

I'm playing again at Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe
and I've chosen to go straight across the middle with the ribbon for my embellishment, the nature speaks for itself, and layers of patterned paper and sentiment mats.

I hope you enjoyed my card today...my daughter enjoyed receiving it.
